Lycan's Past

I pick my katana off of the ground then find a nearby towel, using it to clean off my katana's blade. It's soaked with the blue blood of demons. It's sickening, especially since now I know that I have that same blue blood inside me, though I've noticed that my blood is back to a normal human red. An entire mission without entering my Blue Demon form. I assumed that I had little to no control over this state, since when First used Blue Demon, it activated automatically and I blacked out. I believe it happened when I was on the brink of death, and two, when Daniel tapped into my emotions and aggravated me. So it seems that those two factors must be the triggers. Talk about cliche, huh?

Eventually, an incredibly battered Jamie walks through the door of Hell's Bar and collapses onto a chair.

"And you said that you can take that demon on your own!" Grover laughs. Jamie just glares at Grover in response then closes her eyes and rubs her head. I can tell that she isn't in the mood for Grover's antics.

The next one to enter is Austin, who looks just as injured as Jamie is. But more importantly…I can see Austin's left arm which is usually bandaged up. It…looks like a mechanical prosthetic.

"Woah, what's up with your arm?!" Grover cries.

"I FUCKING KNEW THAT SOMEONE WAS GONNA MENTION IT!" Austin roars as he kicks a stool with all his might, sending it flying backwards and slamming into a wall, shattering into pieces.

Okay…sore subject. Note to self: Do not mention Austin's mechanical arm!

I peer over at Jamie for some clarity, but see she's still rubbing her head in agony.

The last ones to enter are Ralph, Ivy, and a human Lycan. "I'm guessing you three won as well?" I ask.

"We sure did!" Ralph happily answered.

Lycan is picking fur out of his mouth and prodding at his teeth while trying to pull his clothes back on. "What did I bite?" He asks.

"Well your teeth are probably hurting from when you hit down on a demon's scales," Ivy answers.

"And that fur in your mouth...that's when you were licking yourself!" Ralph teases.

"I...what…" Lycan blushes.

"Don't worry, Ralph's just messing with you! You were only licking your own wounds," Ivy reassures Lycan.

"I'd rather not be licking myself…" Lycan mutters to myself. And I'd rather not go berserk when my life is threatened, but whatever.

"I see that you three cleaned house while we were gone!" Ralph whistles as he puts his hands on his hops and looks around the bar, marveling at the sheer amount of fallen demons.

"I feel shot…" Ella whimpers in response to Ralph's compliment.

And so, six of us awkwardly walk out of the bar. Luckily, it's late at night so no one saw eight bloody teneagers wielding weapons walk out of a bar that previously had screams, cries, and gunshots coming from it, which would have been unsettling, even if we are Pro Slayers. "It's a good thing we have these Pro Slayer licenses…" I mutter to myself.

The eight of us then limp back to Slayer Renzu's squad's dorm house, and when we get inside...collapse.

"Rough mission?" Renzu asks as she walks over to the eight of us.

"Naw...piece of cake!" Ralph answers as he weakly gives Renzu the thumbs up.

Eventually, Nick drives up to the dormhouse. And so, the five of us say our goodbyes to Renzu's Squad, congratulating each other on a mission well done and promising to stay in touch, Austin got into the front seat of Nick's SUV while Ella and Jamie sat in the middle seats as Grover and I piled in the back seats. Just like our first mission.

"You look like shit, demon," is the first thing that I hear the second that I step through the front door of our dormhouse. It was from Mikey, and obviously, directed at me.

The first words he's said to me in a long while.

"Mommy! Mommy! Can we get a puppy?!" Ever since he was a little boy, young Lycan would beg and beg his parents for a pet dog. And everytime, young Lycan's mother would say: "no, Lycan. You need to learn how to take care of yourself first!" This would cause the boy to groan and whine, then sadly walk away. The boy would then begin to play, forgetting about the server asking for a pup, only to ask again the next day and the day after that.

Young Lycan came from an incredibly wealthy background. His father found riches as being the CEO of a powerful technology company, and Lycan was raised to be a fine gentleman. Lycan was always forced to wear proper clothing and was held to the highest standard when it comes to manners. This contradicted the boy's cursed nature. For you see, young Lycan was quite the little adventure. He loved wandering around the outdoors and frolicking in the mud, constantly dirtying and tearing his expensive clothing. On top of that, the boy developed a crude mouth from the time he heard the family's butler swear after hours. Very fitting for a young boy named Lycan. Lycan also had a brother, his name was Kurt. Rumor has it that Kurt was a bastard child that the mother conceived with one of the family's butlers, but the rumor found no such confirmation. Kurt was every way, the opposite of Lycan. Kurt was a true gentleman, clean, politie, and intelligent, unlike the childish Lycan.

Lycan was seven years old when he stopped begging for a dog. One day, Lycan was exploring a grand forest outside of his family's huge house. The boy got lost in the forest. For hours, Lycan wandered around the green maze, crying for help. Pleading for help. After a few hours, Lycan stumbled across a stray dog. This dog barked and whimpered and walked up the Lycan. The dog jumped onto Lycan, knocking the boy to the ground. Lycan giggled as the dog licked his face. Eventually, his new dog friend got up and barked. The dog would bark at Lycan then look elsewhere, as if saying: "follow me." Young Lycan gave up to temptation and followed the dog deeper into the forest. After a while of hiking when the sun had just set, the dog stopped moving and turned around.

The boy then remembered something. Lycan's mother never got cross, never hit him, except for one time where Lycan was adventured alone at night, and Lycan's mother beat the boy to the point where he didn't even go outside for weeks.

The dog's body began to twist and turn, and to morph into something else. The dog first morphed into a pretty naked woman with brown hair, and then that woman's body began to convulse as well. Her skin turned black and her veins glowed a bright brown. Scales and feathers and fur began to sprout from the woman's body. Tentacles, wings, claws, and fangs spurted out from every corner. And the horrible abomination that stood before Lycan was a monster of hundreds of animals fused together in a gross mixing pot.

Then Lycan's own body began to change.

Lycan began to itch uncontrollably. White fur sprouted up from the boy's flesh. His fingers turned to claws and his nose a snout, with jagged, sharp fangs jutting out. Lycan fell to all fours and howled. He became a wolf.

Lycan awoke the next morning in his own bed, as if nothing ever happened. But Lycan knew that what he experienced was no dream. Something happened last night, something that awakened the beast within poor Lycan. From that day onwards, Lycan's parents refused to even look at the boy. Lycan was the shame of the family, an embarrassment, a failure. They kept him locked in a room with a bucket to use the bathroom. Occasionally sliding the boy scraps of food or cups of water. Lycan cried and begged to be let out, but his parents refused to free the boy. Every note since that day, Lycan was sparged with night terrors. He would be walking in those very woods and see the demon lady, who would then morph into a wolf and pounce on the boy, ripping his flesh to bits. Until he was ten, Lycan woke up screaming every night.

But one day, the boy snapped.

Lycan decided that he has had enough, that he would free himself from his confinement. Then the moon rose, Lycan offered up his body to the world that slept within, letting the vicious beast take over. Lycan charged out of his room, tearing off the butler's leg, and continued through the house. Lycan was like a flash of white, beating and clawing through flesh, eventually spitting up fireballs, scoring the huge house.

Lycan didn't stop, no matter what.

That night, Lycan murdered his entire family.

And feasted on their remains.

Lycan awoke the next morning, naked and laying in a pile of flesh and blood. The woman who stood before him introduced herself as Dianne Wallace. Behind her, stood two children the same age as Lycan. A blonde haired boy and a girl in a green skirt. Dianne Welssworth said that she needed Lycan for something, and took the boy's hand, leading him out of the house torn down by the boy's carnage and wrath.

Lycan developed an extreme fear of the dark and of dogs, which you can't blame the boy for. Lycan realized full well that despite his trauma, the Slayer Organization Was still forcing Lycan to relive those tragic events in order to fight for the Organization, but Lycn didn't care. He figured that during his time as a Pro Slayer, maybe he can take that wolf within him.

And maybe even teach it a trick or two.
