Chapter 2: Found a Strong Ally, But a Little Too Early
"Senju Clan! You've hit the jackpot!" Pirate Chu Yang was filled with envy. Even though they were both Chu Yang, their experiences were worlds apart.
"Big brother, this is the Warring States Period, not the founding year of the Naruto era. We're practically in a constant battle with the Uchiha clan next door. Do you know how dangerous it is?" Naruto Chu Yang helplessly spread his hands.
"That's still better than what I'm dealing with," Pirate Chu Yang curiously asked, "Who is the current leader of the Senju Clan? Have you met the First Hokage yet?"
Naruto Chu Yang smiled smugly, "The First Hokage just took over leadership and has taken some of the young members of the clan as his disciples, teaching them his original Wood Release technique. I'm one of them."
Hearing this, Pirate Chu Yang's eyes almost overflowed with envy, but he knew that mastering Wood Release as a bloodline limit was incredibly rare.
Wood Release is formed by combining Earth and Water chakra natures.
It sounds simple, but in practice, it's extremely difficult to accomplish.
More importantly, merging different chakra natures carries enormous risks, and failure can result in terrifying backlash.
Being part of the Senju Clan, with similar genetics, made it easier for them to avoid such a backlash.
Naruto Chu Yang continued, "Out of all the people, I'm the only one who managed to learn Wood Release. The funny thing is, just after I learned it, my consciousness entered this palace."
"Can I see it?" Pirate Chu Yang looked at Naruto Chu Yang expectantly.
Some bloodline limit techniques don't require hand signs. Naruto Chu Yang just smiled and clapped his hands, and a surge of special energy flowed out from his body. Vines and branches began to sprout from his upper body.
"How's that?" Naruto Chu Yang grinned with satisfaction.
"That's amazing…"
Just as Pirate Chu Yang was about to praise him, he suddenly felt a strange change in his own body.
He instinctively mimicked the hand-clapping gesture, and to his shock, something incredible happened!
Branches began to wildly sprout from Pirate Chu Yang's body! He was using Wood Release!
Naruto Chu Yang stared at the scene in disbelief!
Naruto Chu Yang exclaimed, "You can use my powers! Does that mean I can use yours as well?"
Pirate Chu Yang nodded, "It seems so, but unfortunately, I don't have any powers right now."
"No, that's not right."
Naruto Chu Yang focused on his body and was even more stunned, "My chakra is much more active than usual—almost double!"
Pirate Chu Yang speculated, "The more of us there are, the faster our power grows?"
Naruto Chu Yang excitedly nodded, "That must be it! If we gather all of our 'selves,' we could achieve unimaginable power!"
As they excitedly envisioned the future, thick fog suddenly appeared inside the palace, and both felt they were about to leave.
"I don't know when we'll meet again, but make sure to increase your strength as fast as possible!" Naruto Chu Yang urged earnestly.
Just as Chu Yang nodded, the next second, his consciousness returned to his body, and the searing pain brought him back to full awareness. The prison guard had just removed the branding iron.
Although Chu Yang had spent what felt like a long time in the palace, in the pirate world, only an instant had passed.
Seeing Chu Yang wake up so quickly, the prison guard sneered and lifted the branding iron again, "Woke up fast, huh? Let's see how you like this!"
The guard didn't notice…
The brand on Chu Yang's chest was healing at an alarming rate—something far beyond normal human recovery.
Chakra began to flow steadily…
Chu Yang's entire body was filled with power, and with a loud roar, he broke free from the chains binding him.
In the guard's terrified gaze, Chu Yang grabbed him by the throat, and vines erupted from his body, quickly wrapping around the guard.
Crack! Crack! The sound of bones breaking filled the air as the vines tightened around the guard.
"D…Devil Fruit user…"
The guard stared at Chu Yang in disbelief.
His face was filled with regret, but soon he stopped breathing altogether.
It was time to leave! Killing one of the Celestial Dragons' lackeys right under their noses was a direct challenge to their authority.
Chu Yang knew he couldn't stay in Mary Geoise any longer. The longer he stayed, the more danger he'd be in.
"But if I escape without a plan, my chances of success are too low."
To protect the Celestial Dragons, a Navy Admiral was permanently stationed in the Holy Land. The Marine base here housed countless experts, not to mention the monstrous CP0 agents.
Chu Yang understood that with his current strength, he had no chance of evading their pursuit.
"I need to cause a disturbance—something big to create chaos."
Chu Yang suddenly recalled the heroic feat of Fisher Tiger, who set fire to the Holy Land. Deciding there was no turning back, he planned to follow suit.
Leaving the dark torture chamber, Chu Yang retraced his steps from memory until he reached the slaves' cells, where he finally stopped.
The three sisters were initially thrilled to see Chu Yang return unharmed, but that joy quickly turned into fear.
Chu Yang wasn't brought back by a guard—he came back on his own.
There was only one possible explanation for this.
Sandersonia, the second sister, screamed in horror, "You!!! Did you… kill the guard?"
Chu Yang nodded.
The third sister, Marigold, trembled in fear.
They had been trapped here for years and had often thought about killing a guard, but they had never dared to act.
On the other hand, their elder sister, Hancock, also looked at the boy in front of her in shock.
From the moment she first saw him, she had felt something extraordinary about him.
But she never expected Chu Yang would dare to do something so outrageous.
Although she was terrified, Hancock couldn't help but feel a deep sense of satisfaction because Chu Yang had done what she had always wanted to do but never dared.
Hancock quickly reminded Chu Yang, "You need to escape while no one has found out yet. If the Celestial Dragons catch you, your fate will be worse than death."
Chu Yang nodded and said, "I know, but before I go, I'm going to free everyone."
"What?" Both Sandersonia and Marigold exclaimed in shock. They hadn't expected that in such a dire situation, Chu Yang would still be thinking about the other prisoners.
"Don't play the hero! You have no idea how many slaves are imprisoned here. How long will it take you to save them one by one?"
Although Hancock was touched, she still scolded him, hoping he would leave as soon as possible.
The Celestial Dragons had ruled for so long, and nothing as egregious as this had ever happened before. Chu Yang's fate was obvious.
However.
She didn't know that Chu Yang's plan to free the slaves was merely a way to divert the Navy's attention, giving him a better chance to escape Mary Geoise.
Chu Yang showed no intention of leaving. Under the puzzled gazes of the three sisters, he crouched down and placed his hands on the ground.
