Chapter 1:

2:55 a.m. Thursday, November 25Anne was alone in her room, She scrambled backwards, trying not to scream as her gaze locked on the lifeless stare of the dead body in front of her. She trembled and bit her nails, trying to gather everything she had inside to stop sobbing. Contemplating what she had done, with blood on her hands and a mystery to solve. "I need your help because I did something I deeply regret, and I can't undo it," she cried, terrified of who she had become. "Please come now," she begged him over the phone. When Charles arrived, he was taken aback by what Anne had done. "What have you done, Anne? "How do we get rid of this body?" she shook, unsure of what to do." It's not my fault I'm sorry I thought it was her I was scared," she spoke with guilt.8:13 a.m. Monday, November 5th.

As Clair Chambers appears behind Sophie Corilin, she looks at Anne's massive house. "I think we all miss her sometimes, we all feel a little guilt for the night she disappeared," she whispers.

"Yeah I guess, but we should have answered her call and listened to her even if we were mad at her". Sophie takes a deep breath and walks into the colossal school in front of her eyes, locking her gaze on Milly Hokies. "Wow, she's so much prettier than ever, I couldn't recognize her," she says.

"I know she looks so different now," Clair notices.

Milly approaches them. "Hey guys, how was your summer?"

"Different without Anne there, I still feel guilty," Sophie whispers

"I know, but we can't change anything about it, though."

"Perhaps there is a way,"

"What are you saying, Clair?" Milly was keen to know.

"Well, what if after school we meet up at Anne's place and see if we can find anything? I'm sure her mum isn't at home."

"OK, meet you guys outside Anne's house," Sophie says.

"I'm running late for class, but I'll talk to you soon," Clair says in a hurry

7:16 p.m. Monday, November 5th.

They stoop in front of the house, still and silent, gazing in awe at the monstrosity before them. You could feel their throat tightening because of the thick dust drifting through the gentle wind. Dark shadows lurked in the still air, along with the faint smell of death that hung in the chilled darkness of night. Whispers of lost voices echoed all around, creating a gloomy ambience. Before they were a sight many would hope to forget. The house itself was in dreadful shape, it was heavily dilapidated. A thick blanket of dust also lay still on top of the roof, moving only to allow the odd speck of dust to slip away. At that moment, Milly felt a breeze come from behind her, warm and moist, brushing her ear like a stalker's breath. The dark, heavy, wooden front door made a squeak while Clair opened it and then it swung open. The entrance looked like a cavernous mouth; it seemed that the dark had staring eyes. It took a few cautious steps forward, avidly awaiting any surprise or sudden movement. The air shimmered, and Sophie's eyes unwillingly shot a glance at one window. Moonlight slipped through the cracked board, covering half of the window. To the side of it were withered, torn curtains, and just behind they could make out the sight of a broken armchair and some peeling wallpaper Clair peeled it even more and her heart started pumping rapidly, her legs got weaker and trembled, and she could barely catch her breath. Fear became a tangible living force that crept over her like some hungry beast. She caught her breath and screamed "GUYS WHAT THE HELL IS THIS"

Sophie turned around, staring at the word written in blood saying RUN immobilizing her; her brain, holding her, Milly noticed and took two small steps backwards. Her heart pounding in her ears, she tried to scream, but something grabbed her. She let out a scream and the next minute she was gone,

Clair noticed "Sophie where is Milly, she's gone!"

"W-what do you mean gone?" Sophie says while shaking.

Milly stood in a dark room aglow, a beacon of light filtering through the dust-riddled air

The window was painted shut and must not have been opened for a while. The room had an eerie feeling to it like someone was watching her. She trod softly, but the floorboards creaked and moaned. It was quiet and still. Every single creak brought a jerk to her shivering body. The staleness of the air had her breathing deeper.

She cringed at each creak on the old wooden floor. She didn't sway her determination to make it to the window. While she stood still, a shadow flickered in the corner of her vision. She froze, all she could do, to not hurl herself toward the front door, but she knew something was waiting there for her

While gut-wrenching sobs tore through her chest, not knowing what to do, as she stood there, she caught a woody scent lingering in the air. Tobacco smoke? A shiver curled through the hairs on the back of her neck a thick cloud of tiny water droplets suspended in the atmosphere, she fell to the ground someone's hand stopped her, she was dragged out. Milly opened her eyes and saw a little reflection of her she was a girl with beautiful brown wavy hair with each stride the strands tumbled, reflecting the strengthening daylight in waves, she had Light green eyes that were the new forest foliage in the pure sunshine.

Sophie screams "ClAIR I HAVE FOUND HER" Clair ran up to Milly trying to catch her breath she says "Are you okay?"

Milly, shaking out of fear says "No I was so scared but a girl in a long black coat helped me but ran off"

"we're so sorry," Sophie says while hugging her

"let's get you home," Clair says putting her hand out for Milly to get up

"guys can I sleep at yours" Milly says while her eyes prickling with tears

"We can go mine," Clair says trying to cheer her up

But when they got to the doorstep they were shaking with fear a note saying
