"I'm missing you here, when are you guys returning?" I pouted. "In just two weeks honey," he chuckled.
"Mm, that's close enough, I was really missing you guys. I've been feeling lonely. I need my old man here," I sighed. "What do you mean you've been lonely sweetheart, isn't Aaron there with you?" he questioned.
"Hey, honey. I won't be coming home tonight.. You know meetings and all. I'm sorry, we can go out some other time, okay? I love you, don't wait up for me," His voice rung in my head.
"Yeah papa, his just been really busy with his business meetings. And sometimes it can get a little to much. Especially with the wedding coming up, it's already as stressful as it is," I said tugging my raven locks. "Well, sweetie, a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do." He stated.
"I know. Maybe I am being a little inconsiderate. I get it. I guess," I shrugged as if he could see me. "Remember his doing this for the both of you," he stated.
"I know but paps, I'm an independent woman. Except my work doesn't require a hella lot of meetings," I rolled my eyes. "Sweetie," he started but I cut him off knowing what he was going to say. "Yes, yes, I know. His an architect requires a hella lot more hours at work than at home - and I'm NY Best selling author. Got it dad. I knew," I rolled my eyes.
"Don't you roll your eyes at me young lady," I chuckled knowing he knew me like the back of his hand. "Your mom wants to speak to you, remember just be patient with Aaron" I mumbled a 'yeah' before I heard the voice of my mother. "Sweetie, how are you? How are things over there?"
"I'm okay. Things are fine ma, I just can't wait to see you and paps," I informed. "Are you sure you're okay sweetie?" I could sense the concern in my mom's voice.
"Is it Aaron?" She asked before I could answer. "Ma, we weren't even talking about him," I rolled my eyes. "Yes, but seemingly his the problem."
If you haven't guessed it yet, my mom doesn't really like Aaron, she can tolerate and have a conversation with him, but secretly she doesn't like him. His not good for me, her words not mine.
"Everything is fine ma," I assured her, not completely sure if she was sold. "How are things in Paris?" I asked changing the subject. "Oh it's amazing here honey," I heard the joy in her voice. Which caused my lips to curl into a smile. "We got you a couple of souvenirs you'd like, not only from Paris, but from Bogotá, and your dad got you a Senorita attire from Spain," I gasped at her last statement. I've been pleading for my own cultural attire for years. I would've gotten one here, but I wanted one from back home. "You visit the places I want to go to when I'm not present," I held my hand onto my chest, pretending to be hurt. Hearing a small laugh escape from my mother."But thank you ma, I really appreciate it. But I'm really tired it's night time over there. Our time zones are completely different as of right now," I yawned. "Goodnight sweetie, love you"
"I too ma, goodnight" I disconnected the phone call.
Tilting my head back I shut my eyes in exhaustion.
I stared at the slightly faded marks on my forearm, sighing at the image.
"Remember who was there for you, it was me, not him."
"Ahh!"
"I need someone to make me feel worthy"
"If you needed me, you'd be with me,"
"I love him,"
"I just want you to be happy,"
"Is he the one?"
