Melinoe

"I've been watching you, for some time. Can't stop staring at those ocean eyes." -BILLIE EILISH, ocean eyes

Still somehow still disappointed in myself I managed to erase all last night's events and dress into a pair of blue jeans and a white sleeveless turtle neck top. "You're stupid."

"Sheesh, thanks Nichola. So helpful," I rolled my eyes at my best friend and zipped my heel boot. "No I'm serious Mel. This is beginning to become something too serious. He cheats every single time and you forgive him. How?"

"N-"

"Don't you even deny it." She gave me a pointed look before continuing her rant, "You don't ever listen to me. For gods sake! I mean what if the next time," she pauses. "He cheats with some balled puta in your own bed?" Knowing her so well, I suppressed a laugh by rolling my eyes before walking past her. "Balled Nicola? Balled?" She mirrored my actions by rolling her eyes and smiled lightly. "Whatever" She let out. "I'm not having this conversation with you right now. I have a conference meeting to attend too," I scanned through my walk in closet and grabbed a peach coat. "Do you think this outfit is more with the boots or the heels?"

"Heels." She plopped herself on my bed before oddly bouncing back up and sitting on the cushion. "What in the world was that?"

She grinned at me as I shook off the boots and replaced them with heels. "Oh that?" She smiled a little too innocently before continuing. "It was nothing. I just didn't want to sit on the same bed that you sleep with your fiancé in. Not until you change the sheets obviously." She stated and I stared, blinking at her in disbelief. "Wow" I let out.

She was seriously on being immature and may I say, on another level. She was being absolutely irrational and I honestly, I wasn't a fan of her actions nor her words. She was just like my mother, they had the same opinion when it came to Aaron. Never liked him, never did and I figure never will.

Aaron tries.

At least that's what I think.

"Don't you have somewhere to be?" I asked as it came out more bitterly than I wanted it too. "Wow" she mocked me. "What a way to let your own best friend leave the house. Poor services, honestly."

Ignoring her sarcasm, I settled with my hair into a neat bun and grabbed my handbag as well as my other equipment and shoved them into my bag.

Just as I moved the door knob someone from The other side of the door already opened. Automatically, the door swung open and I was met face- to- face with my brother in law. Correction; future annoying brother in law.

"Future sister- in- law." He greeted far too annoyingly. "Damon," I sighed trying to control every bone in my body not to roll my eyes or scream in his unfortunately, good- looking face. "Did you have to say future?" I emphasized. "Well you're not married yet."

"And?"

He opened his mouth to say something but he closed his mouth immediately as if contemplating. As annoying, he was very confusing. Despite living under the same roof as him I never really got to know anything further about him than to know he was annoying. Although he always annoyed me more than anyone else. Back to him being confusing- he may always say something but his eyes would always say something else. Maybe that was it or maybe my hallucinations had come back.

"Is there anything you need?" I asked realizing I had just been standing there. But I soon realized I wasn't the only one staring and not saying anything. "Damon?" I frowned as I stared at his spaced-out expression.

"Beautiful eyes, yet they hold so much pain." I looked at him, beyond confused.

Strangely it sounded familiar, way too familiar. "Hey, Earth back to Melinoe." I heard a girly voice. Snapping back to reality I noticed Damon was gone and it was Nicola who was in front of me."

"L-let's go." I announced shutting my bedroom door behind me.

Beautiful eyes, that hold so much pain.
