Chapter 1CHAPTER 1

Flying through the forest, with the wind blowing against me is one of the best feelings. Dashing through the trees as I try to reach the back of the forest first. I look back to attempt to see my friends behind me, but weirdly I only saw Summer. Where were the other two? I questioned. I decided to keep flying hoping they weren't already there.

I sense something behind me. I look to my left. Winter! She tried to sneak up on me! I quickly jump above her before her ice shell trapped me, but little did I know Autumn was to my right waiting for me.

All of a sudden I felt vines wrap around me, and then my body was attached to the tree. As I thought of a way to get out I watched my friends run by me, "Ugh" I complained, with an annoyed look on my face, the vine wrap is too strong, getting out of it would be harder than I thought, but I knew I could do it.

I closed my eyes and sent all my magic energy towards my chest, my chest grew heavy and I opened my eyes. The vines ripped off with ease.

I look around to see if I could spot any of my friends. I see my friend's, they were still flying towards the end, they were getting closer with every second I spent watching them. I fly back up in the air and propel myself forward in an attempt to fly faster.

I race right past my friends to make it to the end. I look and see the surprised faces of my friends as I zoom right past them. We're all tired from the high amounts of magic we used, so we all stopped flying and landed about a meter away from the ending. We all jumped to reach the finish line at the end of the Spring Forest, we all got upholding our hands in the spot we dropped it at to see who's farther.

By an inch difference, I was higher than them. "Phew, that was a close one. You guys almost beat me this time!" I laughed, I went back to see the annoyed looks on their faces. "You always win April, you should actually give us a chance," Winter exclaimed, upset that she lost. I smiled "I do. You guys just can't seem to get here first."

Each new race they all do much better, I really should keep building up my skills. "We'll beat you one day April." Said Autumn with an annoyed look. I just shrugged with a smile, and my eyes showed we'll see about that look. As the rest of them keep talking I hear my watch buzz, I check to see what it was.

A message from my sister showed on my butterfly watch. "Lunch is ready. You be back at the castle in 10." Yes, finally food! God, I'm starving. "Lunch is done guys, maybe next time you'll beat me, Summer you're coming with me for lunch right?" I say as we all begin to fly out of the woods. "Yup, my family is currently on a mission, so I get to stay with you today." I nodded in response since I am happy to be able to have one of my best friends over.

We wave goodbye to the other two as we go our separate ways. We both flew towards the Spring Palace at a fast speed as we are really hungry. We detransform and land in the garden in front of the palace. As we walk to the front doors we are greeted by my butler Graham ready to walk me and Summer inside.

As we walk through the doors I see my family, Spring and Springs fiance Ray sitting at the end of the table with the food all laid out. I'm so lucky I get these big meals, especially after my races.

"Hey, April, Summer how are you guys?" Spring smiled. Me and Summer quickly took our seats and started eating. "We had our monthly race through the forest and once again I won." I said proudly. I gave Summer a cheeky smile. The whole room erupted into laughter, while Summer had an annoyed look on her face.

"Anyway, Hey Ray, what are you doing here?" I questioned, curious why my sister fiance Ray was here. "I'm here helping out Spring and your family with some royal family paperwork." Ray said tiredly "also to work on the wedding plans'' He exclaimed, while he winked at Spring and gave her a wide smile. "Well, that's how you know you're a part of the family." I and Summer continued eating while we listened to the rest of my family talking about boring royal stuff.

Of course, I too had my own royal responsibilities, all the members of each royal family do, but I don't do most of the boring stuff like paperwork because I am still only 15 but I still got to do some paperwork, yay, perks of being royal I guess.

"All done!" Summer exclaimed. I was also done with my meal, so I got up with her and we excused ourselves from the table. I and she walked to the back garden to go to the stables and grab our horses. We love going on horseback rides throughout the town.

"Hey Blossom, you ready for a ride." I said excited, horseback riding was one of my favorite things to do. My horse neighed cheerfully. Right as I'm about to get on my horse I hear a whistle, I turn around to see Summers' horsefly into the stable.

We both mounted our steeds and made our way around to the town to say hello to the town folk. As we rode through the town plenty waved as we rode past, all highly surprised that the princesses of the royal family were riding through the town.

"April, can we go shopping?" Summer asked, "That party in your kingdom is coming up soon and I would love a new dress!" Summer asked. Oh right there's that party to announce something big but I don't know what it is, which is not fair! Spring said she would tell me tonight, let's hope it's not something bad. "Ya same!" I show Summer to one of the best dress shops in Spring and we started looking around. A pink dress with flowers on the top to the waist just hanging there caught my eye. They are beautiful flowers called a pink phase. They are gorgeous pink flowers with healing properties for simple bruises and broken bones.

I suddenly hear Summer whisper yell my name. 'April". "Yes summer, why are you whispering?" I whispered back. "Come here and look out the window. I walk over to where Summer is standing and look out the window. Summer turns to me and points out the window and says "April look at that cute guy walking past!" Summer exclaimed. I looked over to where Summer was pointing and was surprised by her accuracy. He was kinda cute but Spring is big, and I doubt I'd ever see him again. I look back at Summer and just shrug my shoulders.

She gave me a nervous glance and went to the other side of the store. We looked around for a little while and decided what we wanted to buy and went up to the register to purchase the gowns we chose. I bought the gown with the pink phases and a cute pink gem bracelet to match my Harmony Stone necklace. Summer got a simple green dress with palm leaves on the top and fluffy lace fabric on the bottom. She'll probably wear her palm leaf earrings to match her dress.

We grabbed our bags and walked back to our horses and made our way back to the castle. When we got back we walked through the garden into the castle and went up to my room, where we tried on our new dresses and took some cute photos. We started talking about each other's duties in our kingdom and tried figuring out what the big surprise is for this weekend's ball. "Oh, April my family is home now, I've gotta go back for dinner, I'll see you tomorrow for the ball."

Summer said upset that she had to leave. I smiled and waved her goodbye. Minutes after Summer left my maid Clarity knocks on the door. She's been my friend for as long as I can remember. Clarity has always been more than a maid to me, she has been and always will be here for me.

"Hey April, you have archery practice in 10 minutes, you should get your training outfit on." Clarity suggests. "You're probably right." I laughed. After I get on my training outfit, I head to the bottom floor of my castle where all the training happens, whether it's practicing magic or doing physical training. At a young age, I was told to choose my weapon that I would use most often, and as you saw I chose a bow and arrow.

I love the feeling of hitting a perfect bullseye and having everyone in awe. My arrows are special though before I fire them I enhance them with whatever spell I want. I could make it something to help people like, heal whoever it hits or enhance to poison whoever I hit.

Whatever I want, as long as I know how to conjure it. I also train how to fight and dodge with a bow. I have a trainer named Shade, he's super cool and is super badass. My goal is to be able to surpass him someday, but I still have a long way to go.

As I walk into the training room already Shade is ready to start. "Have you already done your stretches?" Shade asked. "Yes," I said with a smile. "Then let's get started." Suddenly a bunch of moving targets showed up. I began to shoot them all down one by one perfectly, bullseye every time! "Yes!" I exclaimed.

I look over to Shade and he nods at me. "Now faster." The targets became smaller and moved faster. "Well don't just stand there, remember, you become an easy target when you're not moving.

I start sprinting around the room dodging all the spheres with ease and taking them down even with my body. Wooden poles pop up in front of me, surprised by the sudden targets, I flip out of the middle.

They turned around and moved quickly and swiftly right towards me. Putting my bow away I stand my ground ready to punch at anything that comes at me. As they surround me I kick and punch the poles down. "Stop them!" Shade shouts. I turn around to see Shade aiming a bow right at me. He starts to shoot the arrows 1 by 1 at rapid speed.

Using my bow I shoot arrows to counter his. "Grab them!" Shade says as more arrows are coming my way. Yes! He finally lets me grab the arrows. He let me practice slowly but never with real speed. I put away my bow once again and began grabbing the arrows for myself.

Each arrow got closer and faster towards my face, but I was able to grab them without a scratch. I took the arrows for my own use and aimed them right back at him. "Well done April, you've earned a break." Shade smiled. "I can keep going," I suggest wanting to do more. "I know you can, but you should learn that taking breaks can also prove very useful, don't push yourself too far." I nod and go to take a drink of water, but when I am about to leave I bump into Spring.

Defy The Alpha(s)

Two centuries after the Great War, peace between humans and werewolves was finally achieved, or so everyone believes. Werewolves reign like gods, and humans remain blissfully unaware of their true place in the new world order. To maintain this fragile balance, each year, a handful of "lucky" humans are selected from various districts to attend Lunaris Academy, a prestigious institution that promises glory, status, and a chance to mingle with the elite. Those chosen are hailed as the lucky few, destined to marry powerful alphas and rise as luna. This year, Violet Purple is among the chosen, much to everyone's surprise. For an orphaned girl adopted by a disgraced prostitute, this is a golden ticket to a better life or so she's told. But Lunaris Academy isn’t the paradise it’s painted to be. Everything Violet and her fellow humans have been taught is a lie. Humans are far from equal; they're pawns in a much larger game. The academy is nothing but a gilded cage, and the students are lambs led to slaughter, playthings for the alphas to toy with in their ruthless games. To make matters worse, Violet catches the attention of the most dangerous players in this game, the Terror Four: the Alpha of the North, Alpha of the South, Alpha of the East, and Alpha of the West. Each one is more dangerous, more twisted, and more powerful than the last. But even among themselves, the alphas are divided, each with their own deadly ambitions. Yet, they all have their eyes on her. They expect Violet to play along, to fall in line like the others who worship at their feet, to break under their games. But Violet isn’t like the others. She refuses to bow. She’ll defy them all. *********** With a grin that made her uneasy, he handed the application to her. “Approve this one.” Principal Jameson’s curiosity got the better of her as she took the paper from him, her eyes scanning the text. Almost immediately, her breath caught in her throat, her eyes widening in disbelief. “What the...?” “It’s perfect, isn’t it?” Asher’s voice was almost gleeful. Fucking psychopath! Jameson could hardly believe what she was reading. “Mr. Nightshade, with all due respect, this applicant….this girl just admitted to—” She couldn’t even finish the sentence, still horrified at the explicit nature of the application. Taking a deep breath, she continued, “I’m sorry, but I cannot approve this.” “She’s issued me a challenge,” Archer said, a dark gleam in his eyes. “What?” “‘Wait till you see me in bed,’” he repeated the bold line from the application, his grin widening. “And I can’t wait to find out.” “Mr. Nightshade—” He stood up, cutting off her protest as he fixed her with an intense stare. “Approve the application. I won’t ask again.” Without waiting for her response, Asher strode out of the office, confident she would follow his orders. He always got what he wanted. Archer Nightshade walked down the hall, a spring in his step. For the first time in a long while, he felt alive, his blood pulsing with excitement. The other Cardinal Alphas had no idea what he was up to, but it would soon hit them. He’d just set the game in motion. And the target was Violet Purple. It was game on. Note : This is not your average werewolf story. Eveything you think you know about werewolves would be challenged in this book. And yes, it is reverse harem. Do give the book a try.

QI's system right now categorizes all novels taken from the female novel Chinese site (起点女生网) as 'romance' without fail, regardless of whether they truly are romance. So, if you are here just for the romance, you might want to find a different novel. There will be some romance eventually, but most of this novel is Sci-Fi/Xianxia with a lot of world-building and character development. 2) I use British spelling. Bambi and the Duke

Disowned for being a human, Vivian was taken in as a maid at the age of seven by the Carmichael household. Serving one of the most respected and elite pureblood families in Bonelake, there were rules. Rules that must be followed by all servants and maids. Like everyone else, Vivian was repeatedly reminded not to disobey the rules. But before she could learn to blend into the background like the other servants, the Duke's young son calls to her, “Bambi.” And all hell breaks loose. ----- "What? Never seen a bruise before?" Leonard scoffed at the girl. "Does it hurt?" Vivian asked, gently kneeling beside him and examining the several bruises covering his face. "Not that much." Remembering what her mother used to do when she got a bruise, Vivian brought her sleeve to her mouth and blew warm air on it before placing it on the boy's cheek, taking him by surprise. Leonard swatted her hand away, a hint of pink appearing on his cheeks embarrassed, "W-what are you doing?" "Mama told me this will make the pain go away," the girl held her hand close to her chest as she shared her past memory. "I’m not a child!” Leonard huffed at her. “I don’t think you’re a child,” she stared at him with a crystal-clear gaze. Taken aback, Leonard locked eyes with her for two seconds before shaking his head. “Don’t worry about it. They’ll heal in a day or two anyways," he reassured her before getting up and taking a seat at the table where his books were placed. "Odd girl," he muttered to himself as he pulled the top book from the stack and lost himself in it.
