Chapter 20

Luna stared at the red gigantic monster in front of the ship. Its massive tentacles wrapped around the ship's railing. Its humanoid head emerges from the ocean water with sharp pointed teeth and bulging dark eyes. It's very terrifying.

A few hours ago, mist surrounded the ship and made all of them lose consciousness. It is different from the poisonous smoke from the forest. They all fall into a deep sleep and woke up in still water and an eerily quiet atmosphere.

Luna thought this was odd, especially the lack of waves in the ocean. It was like floating in the glass mirror.

"Where-" She was about to ask.

"Shh..." A man whispered in a low voice. He is one of the crews of the ship.

They all gazed at the horrified expression of the man. He is on the ship's railing, looking down at the still water.

"Don't ever make a sound. We are under the monster's lair." The man whispered.

Everyone gasped in silence.

"Why is the water very still?" Grey asked.

"I don't know. But I heard that the monster hears the slightest vibration in the sea. He is the ultimate prey. The sea animals are aware of that and leave this place a long time ago. We are not supposed to be here. Even the treasure hunters did not reach this place. The treasure hunters only reached this sea boundary, not enter it. They throw slaves as sacrifices and explore the small part of the ocean for treasure." The man said.

"Then I guess the captain led us to the mist, directly into the monster's mouth," Sebastian commented.

"Then what are we supposed to do now?" Natan asked.

"Ah..."

The people turned to the man at the back. A crew of the ship is about to sneeze.

"Achoo!" The man sneezed. It is loud enough for everyone to hear.

"Shit!" Sebastian cursed.

Seconds later, they felt vibration underwater, and waves formed in the calm sea.

"It is waking up," Natan uttered with tension.

"We are gonna die!" The man said with fear in his eyes.

"Prepare yourself!" Grey commanded everyone.

In front of them, a big wave formed and a round humanoid head emerge from underwater. Around the head are long octopus-like tentacles that would stretch to 30-50 ft each.

Luna doesn't know this monster. It's not written in the book. She thought that it must be an old edition.

They saw the tentacles move towards the ship, suddenly grabbing a man. The tentacle threw the man into the air toward its head. It opened its mouth and caught the screaming man. It was fast and reach for another meal. All the crew and the passenger screamed in fear and run toward the other end of the ship.

"Everyone! We need bow and arrow!" Grey screamed.

One of the crew pointed to the location of the bows and arrows. Everyone rushed to take one.

While everyone is grabbing bows and arrows, Grey and the knights sliced the tentacles with their swords.

Luna and Natan shot the monster with their arrows. Everyone followed them. But the monster became more aggressive and attacked with its tentacles with great force. It shattered everything its tentacles struck. It damaged the upper part of the ship.

"Sebastian! Bring here the explosives!" Grey commanded.

Sebastian realized Grey's plan. They will use explosives to kill this monster.

"Alright!" He responded.

A tentacle attacked the deck of the ship with force. Luna avoided it but felt uncomfortable with her long dress. She can't move easily because of it. She tore down the bottom part.

"What are you doing?" Natan asked her with a surprised expression.

"I can't move properly."

"You are exposing yourself," Natan responded. He can't believe that a lady could be as careless as her.

Luna rolled her eyes. She took another bow and positioned it on her arrow. She shot the head of the monster without hesitation.

Natan gazed at her with a bewildered expression. She seemed exceptional in archery. She moves fast and without fear.

What is she?

"Here are the explosives!" Sebastian screamed.

"We have to throw these explosives to the monster's mouth before he can destroy this ship completely," Grey uttered.

"I'll do it!" Luna said as she walked towards them.

"No!" Grey and Sebastian responded with stern voices.

Luna ignored them and called Coco who transformed in front of them into its mystical form.

Everyone was stunned upon seeing the sudden appearance of the huge animal. Mystical beasts were almost extinct creatures and seeing one is like a magical moment. It is a massive beautiful white creature.

Luna took the explosives and then hopped on Coco. The explosives were like grenades in her world.

"Luna!"

Grey tried to stop her but she led Coco to run toward its tentacles. Coco runs on the monster's tentacles, jumping its way toward its head.

"Cover her!" Grey commanded immediately upon realizing that other tentacles tried to grab her or attack her.

Grey used his strength and sliced every tentacle on his way. He grabs another explosive and throws it in the sky to divert the monster's attention.

Luna made her way to the monster's mouth and threw multiple explosives before jumping down to the water with Coco.

A loud bang echoed around them followed by the splash of dark liquid and pieces of the monster's head.

"Luna!" Sebastian screamed.

Grey also rushed to the edge of the ship to see the dark blood of the monster darken the water. No traces of Luna. Only the monster's broken head and tentacles floated around.

Without a second thought, he jumped into the water and dive under to search for Luna. Sebastian also followed him.

Grey saw Luna underwater. Coco in her arms. He immediately swam towards her and grabbed her.

Grey saw Luna's unconscious face. Her hair floating around. Panic emerges in his heart.
