Rising of the Pet System

A young man who was a slave for as long as he remembers finally gets set free into the world by a powerful devil as her servant. As named by her, he took Hades as a name and a way of life. As her hellhound unleashed on the world, she gave him a contract. The more he sacrifices for her, the more power she will grant him. What to expect? The world of Alseria is a ruthless world so don’t expect people to be just after power or be evil for the sake of evil. Each villain I wrote has a legitimate reason for his action, and by legitimate I mean something good. The MC: He isn’t a good guy neither he is evil. He just wants to get by, and occasionally ends up causing a disaster. His sense of morality isn’t like other people’s due to his upbringing and this story is about him trying to be normal. The MC Powers: He has abilities granted to him by the system, not magic. Even though magic exists and is prominent in the world, our MC doesn’t have the patience to sit and learn it. By the end game, he will have a total of ten powerful abilities (Which are addressed in the ten-chapter prologue) I decided to take the HP, MP, and SP from the system concept since they aren’t good indicators of physical capabilities. Instead, I exchanged them for visual indicators, like if the MC is stabbed in the chest, his health is probably too low to stand. I will keep a review so you can contact me easily.

Prologue VI

Thud! Hades leaped from atop the people's heads, and the two steel-covered people ahead of him pointed their spears up. At this rate, they will impale him as he lands.

Hades curled into a ball as he was landing,

[Repulsion] A wave of force emitted from his body and deflected the spears as if they were nothing. At that moment, he opened up with a dual kick aimed at the knight heads.

[Repulsion] the power was enough to throw them off the bridge and into the monster-infested lower ground.

"You bastard…" Their voice fades as they fell down. Hades cared less as he rolled on the bridge and took off running with the cat in his arms.

'We have to run away, we have to run away, this place is falling.' Hades thought. From the knowledge given to him before by the devil. In case the ground started to shake violently, he has to run as fast as possible and cross a wooden bridge.

"You there! Stop!" the priest yelled but Hades didn't listen.

"Just then, will deal with everything later!" The priest yelled again this time toward the people and then started running across the bridge.

The people followed him, trying to escape before the island falls.

As the priest reached the other side and some people followed him, they could see the bridge being strained and cracking.

The priest looked down toward the lower ground, the two front chains have shattered. The island was floating backward away from the mainland.

"Hurry, we don't have time! The island is about to leave the lifting zone!" The priest screamed, urging the people to rush across the bridge.

All the islands had set locations where they can float. The chains are deployed to make sure they sit in their place.

Once the chains are shattered, the island will start floating toward the west. Exiting their floating zone and finally plunging back to the lower ground within 5 minutes.

It's been a while since they heard the first chain shatter, this meant they probably have but a few seconds before the island is doomed.

After just a few seconds, the bridge shattered causing all the people on it to fall. As they screamed, the whole island tilted and started falling after them.

The priest and the survivor stood at the edge watching as the disaster unfolded. As the island crashed it send dust up to the clouds in a loud rumbling.

Besides the priest, Nina's father stood looking down at the island. He took a step ahead into the air and fell silently.

The priest tried to catch him but it was no use, the man's actions were too sudden for him to react in time.

As he was running away, Hades finally looked back, barely being able to see the dust could in the night sky. "It was dangerous isn't it?" He said looking at the cat in his hands.

Meow! Meow! The cat hissed and meowed, scratching him and leaping away.

Hades stopped and looked at it running away, "Be careful," He said with a pained smile.

'Can't it be confined like I was…' He thought.

GROOWL! His stomach rumbled and the pain in his limbs only grew bigger and bigger. He looked around, there was no bread or water.

He was surrounded by thick trees and foliage, it was hard to even see the sky.

Hades looked up and then touched his legs, they were sore but probably can handle more. [Repulsion] Using his ability, he propelled his body up toward a tree top.

CRACK! With his hands and [Attraction], he managed to grab into a thick branch and then slowly lifted himself up. His arms spiked with pain, and he almost fell if not for [Attraction] keeping him stuck.

He checked his legs but forget his arms, they were significantly weaker and had to carry all of his body suddenly.

GRAA! He cried in place.

After waiting a while for the pain to subdue, he surveyed the area around him. In the distance, far away between the trees, he could see a red dot moving slowly.

He decided to set it as his goal for now, as that was probably better than wandering aimlessly.

In the meantime, he has some stat points to spend a whole six!

As he thought about that, the system's window appeared.

-----------------------------------------

Hades wasn't able to read it, but as soon as he focused hard enough.

"{Name: Makin Hades}" The system read it for him with the devil's voice.

"It's you? Can you hear me?" He yelled, "Can you hear me?" He waited a bit but no reply came.

He tried to focus on the same part of the system again.

"{Name: Makin Hades}"

He then focused on another part.

"{Magic: 5}" and another, "{Abilities}" The system seemed to only read what he was focusing on.

As he started understanding how it worked, he tried another thing.

"{{Name: Makin Hades}{Race: Human}{Level: 2/100}

{Favor: 0/400}

{Stats}{Available stat points: 6}

Strength: 10

Dexterity: 6

Resilience: 8

{Abilities}

[Attraction/Repulsion]}"

'Strength? Did I hear that right?' He focused on it again.

"{Strength: 10}" It was indeed strength, in his eyes, that was the most important stat.

"Put all on strength!" He yelled. As if yelling will get him more strength.

"{Three points have been allocated to strength, limit reached.

{Strength: 10}=> {Strength: 13}

Stat points left: 3}" The system spoke.

"What limit?" He tried to punch the screen but he only hit the air.

"{Strength can't be more than five points higher than resilience. Please increase resilience to be able to increase strength further.}"

Hades didn't care to think about it, "I want the most strength."

"{One point has been allocated to resilience, one point has been allocated to strength.

A further increase is impossible with the current stats points.

One stat point remained.

Suggested course of action:

Allocate it to resilience in preparation for the next level up. This will make you more durable in the meantime.

Allocate it to dexterity for an overall balanced body and better flexibility. Dexterity and strength are recommended to be no more than ten points apart.

Save it until the next level up.}"

"Into resilience," Hade said without hesitation.

"{Resilience increased by one point.}"

The system acted immediately.

As Hades focused on his stats again, they were stated again.

"{{Name: Makin Hades}{Race: Human}{Level: 2/100}

{Favor: 0/400}

{Stats}

Strength: 14

Dexterity: 6

Resilience: 10

Intelligence: 4

Magic: 5

Divine: 1

{Abilities}

[Attraction/Repulsion]

}"

He tried swinging his fist but it zapped him with sharp pain. The wound hasn't healed yet, it was probably for the best not to move much.

After sitting on the branch for a while, he got tired.

"GROOWL." He didn't feel sleepy at all, and his rumbling stomach didn't help.

He watched the forest span ahead of him like an endless green carpet, that red dot in the distance was still moving slowly.

As if he was a moth, the light drew his attention. 'They might have bread.' He jumped from the tree and landed on the ground [Repulsion] to lessen the impact.

He started running in the light's direction.
