Rising of the Pet System

A young man who was a slave for as long as he remembers finally gets set free into the world by a powerful devil as her servant. As named by her, he took Hades as a name and a way of life. As her hellhound unleashed on the world, she gave him a contract. The more he sacrifices for her, the more power she will grant him. What to expect? The world of Alseria is a ruthless world so don’t expect people to be just after power or be evil for the sake of evil. Each villain I wrote has a legitimate reason for his action, and by legitimate I mean something good. The MC: He isn’t a good guy neither he is evil. He just wants to get by, and occasionally ends up causing a disaster. His sense of morality isn’t like other people’s due to his upbringing and this story is about him trying to be normal. The MC Powers: He has abilities granted to him by the system, not magic. Even though magic exists and is prominent in the world, our MC doesn’t have the patience to sit and learn it. By the end game, he will have a total of ten powerful abilities (Which are addressed in the ten-chapter prologue) I decided to take the HP, MP, and SP from the system concept since they aren’t good indicators of physical capabilities. Instead, I exchanged them for visual indicators, like if the MC is stabbed in the chest, his health is probably too low to stand. I will keep a review so you can contact me easily.

Prologue VII

Hades has run barefoot across the forest for about half an hour. With him only following the general direction of the light, he had to climb trees several times to make sure he was on the right track.

Crrrr! He stopped a few meters away from the light.

"Kill them!" A man yelled.

"Don't let her escape, make sure her corpse stays distinguishable!" Another man yelled.

Hearing a lot of people fighting, Hades climbed a bushy tree to get a better view.

A glamorous white carriage decorated with golden letters, and four silver knights holding shiny swords are holding back a group of rough-looking people.

Inside the carriage, with her pale face peeking slightly from the window. A blond, golden-eyed maiden stared at them with a terrified look.

"Lady Gabriella, please get inside. Those ruffians are dangerous." One of the knights covered the window with his back.

Hades inspected the fight scene, looking for anything resembling bread. As he found nothing in sight, and with the situation looking dangerous. He turned around and left.

'There was a lot of them, and I'm starving. At this rate, I will eat nothing but grass.'

After running for a while, he found a similar scene.

This time it was a small wooden wagon drawn by a single horse. At the side stood a young man wearing rusted plate armor. He lacked gauntlets and even a helmet. One arrow was sticking from his shoulder and one from his thigh.

The knight had already suffered multiple cuts across his body, blood was dripping from his armor like a river. The only thing keeping his standing are the words of the woman of cloth hiding in the wagon behind him.

[Heal] [Heal] [Heal] [Heal] Yet her magic didn't seem to hold an effect, he was already severely wounded to heal.

"That doesn't look like Gabriella, are you sure we got the right?" One of the attackers glared into the wagon.

"Of course that's her, dying her hair black won't sway us away." Another growled.

"You're right, I bet we can catch her alive. Image how much people would pay for the high priest herself." Another man licking his knife.

Hades inspected the wagon again looking for bread. There was nothing. Are those people really going around without food?

As he was about to leave, he spotted something moving behind the woman in clothes. A tiny little golden cat with golden eyes. It was too yellow to stare at.

"You come here!" One of the attackers charged toward the knight with his shield up.

The knight lifted his weapon up and tried to block the charge. He can't dodge as the wagon is behind him and in it the vulnerable woman.

The attacker smacked the knight with his shield, quickly grabbing him by the neck. "Where is your little skill now? Out of juice." He smiled, "Get her boys!" With his crackling voice, two men approached the carriage.

"Can't believe we got her alive, heard she was more protected than a whole village." One of them laughed.

"Bring some clean water, want to see if we can get the paint off her hair." The other one turned around calling the others.

As the woman curled into the back of the carriage, BAM! Something fast passed right through the left man's skull tearing a hole.

"What?" She cried as blood splattered.

"There!" the second man turned to the left and lifted his shield in an instant. PING! The shield deflected the second attack and it only gazed at his forehead before hitting a tree branch and breaking it.

In the distance, a smiling, barefooted man carrying a fist full of pebbles was on top of a tree.

All the attackers stopped to look in his direction, "What's that, a wild monkey?"

Hades grabbed a pebbled that was a bit bigger than normal. In a single swift swing, [Repulsion] accelerates it and [Attraction] so it will fly directly toward the man holding the knight.

"The bastard!" The man released the knight and pulled his blade up, a single swing was enough to cut the stone in half.

"He can throw stones, be careful at a distance!" the man yelled.

Hades clenched his fist, [Repulsion] with a shock wave, he threw all the pebbles at the same time as a distraction.

At the same time, the knight didn't miss the chance. Biting his teeth through the pain, all he needed is to fight for a bit more.

With a heavy step, he swung his blade downward [Slash]

In that single hit, he beheaded the man.

"He can still move? Cut him before he could use that thing again!" All the men rushed toward the knight.

"I finally got a breather, die!" He screamed swinging his blade, [Slash] As if he was cutting through butter, his blade sliced one of the men across the torso.

"Behind you!" The woman screamed as she saw someone trying to sneak him up with a knife.

Thwack! Hades flew in as fast as he could with [Repulsion] and then punched the man in the face with [Attraction]. CRACK!

As the knight swung his blade down killing another one of the attackers, Hades spread his arms.

[Attraction]

As a wave of power surged from his arms, two of the men got pulled toward him violently with a bang. [Repulsion] And then the second shock wave came blasting them away.

"Kill the woman, drop their morale!" One of the men in the back yelled as a bunch of others took their crossbows out aiming at the wagon. "Fire!" At his command, they all fired.

[Repulsion] Hades rushed to stand between the bolts and the wagon in the blink of an eye. [Repulsion]

As a wave of invisible force rushed from his body, most of the bolt's changed their direction away from him.

They penetrated the walls of the wagon and some other men who were trying to sneak up from behind.

As the woman looked up, she saw blood dripping on Hade's thigh. Five bolts have managed to penetrate his defense.

As Hades felt the pain across his body intensify, it was getting harder and harder to breathe. His legs became weaker and weaker, he could feel his knees about to close and give up.

He was starving, his limbs beaten up, constantly forced his ability out, and now had five bolts poking holes in his chest.

"Str…" He mumbled,

"Don't talk, the bolts are digging into your lungs!" The woman lifted her hand and started healing him. It didn't work, his body rejected her magic.

"STRENGTH! GIVE ME STRENGTH!" Hades yelled.

"{Stat points allocated accordingly

Strength: 14 => Strength: 15

Resilience: 10 => Resilience: 11

Strength: 15 => Strength: 16}"

With his scream, the bolts got pushed out of his wound with a splatter of blood.

Thud! BAM! In an instant, Hades used [Repulsion] to leap at the one who ordered the bolts to be fired and punched him in the head [Attraction] [Repulsion] Attraction pulled Hade's fist toward the man's face while repulsion caused a shock wave blasting the man away.

"The monster, he's still fucking moving!" The others cried seeing their commander gets killed.

They lifted their crossbows, crack! Loaded them up almost instantly and aimed at him.

Hades lifted his foot up and stomped the ground, BANG! With an explosion, his body got propelled into the air higher than the trees.

Pew! Pew! Pew! Their bolts flew toward him.

It was an impressive feat for him to jump that high, but he was vulnerable there. The sky is sacred.

If people could tame the sky like birds, the ancient disaster wouldn't have been living on those islands for centuries.

[Repulsion] Hades's body moved mid-air, dodging all the bolts. BAM! BAM! With consecutive [Repulsion] his body flew around in straight lines with a booming sound.

"He can fly…Gra!" As the man spoke. Hades crushed his head with a falling kick [Attraction]

Terrified, all the bandits turned around running away. They should have never messed with Gabriella. 'Of course the high priest Gabriella would have a flying angel, what were we thinking.' They thought running away.

Clench! As one of them was running away, something grabbed him by the hair.

"Those who hurt cats get turned to favor!" Hades delivered a powerful punch while still grabbing him by the hair.

[Repulsion] The generated force was enough to snap the man's spine in half.

{Favor: 200/800} => {Favor: 300/800}

"Don't kill them, they already gave up!" the woman screamed.

"You heard her angel, the priest has spoken!" One of them cried but [Slash] his head got sliced clean off.

The knight was already standing in front of them, his body covered in blood, and with a wide smile.

As they looked back, all of their friends who were fighting him were dead.

"Surprise!" He said as the blood started splattering from the corpse.
