Chapter 95 -- Charles Willer

A luxury white carriage was seen moving through the streets of Willow. On top of the carriage was a mage wearing silver iron armor.

It was pretty clear that this carriage was the transport of someone important, or rich. The carriage soon stopped in front of a mansion and a man wearing an expensive suit walked out.

He was tall with gelled back black hair and held in his hand a golden cane. He wore a black suit with white trimmings at the edges and tuxedo tails. On his head was a fairly large top hat.

His aura just screamed nobility, and his every step demanded respect. The man got to his door and before he could touch it, a panicked butler opened it.

"Sir, i deeply apologize, I didn't expect you back so soon" the butler bowed, his body drawing a perfect ninety degree angle.

"It's okay you may stand" the man smiled at his head butler. The butler thanked the man and stood up.

"Where is Percival?" the man asked. Percival was his head guard as well as his advisor.

"Percival went out to train yesterday sir, however i have already sent a pigeon to him, he should arrive in a few hours" the butler said.

"Okay do you have anything to report?" the man asked as he began walking somewhere. The butler was forced to follow as he gave his reports.

"The Hill family is requesting to either rent or buy one of our safehouses sir". The butler said.

The man nodded "Set up a meeting with the family head as soon as possible, we need the money"

"Of course sir".

The man and the butler talked for a few more hours with the butler telling his master of everything that happened in the household when the man was away.

This man was actually Charles Willer, he is the son of Master Willow's cousin and even though he was far away from the Willow family line, he was very respected in the city.

This was because unlike other noble or subsidiary families, he wasn't arrogant or conceited. He liked helping people and there actually have been many occasions were he would stand on the streets giving food to the poor.

This made him loved by the people but hated by the other families under the Willow family. He was actually kicked out of the Willow mansion for using the family finances in his charity works.

After getting kicked out, he started his own noble family after luckily finding a very rare treasure in the mana beast forest. With that treasure, he got enough money to start his own noble family with his wife.

When the Willow family heard about his success, they immediately tried to woo him back into the family before he exhausted the treasure, however he refused and only agreed to become a subsidiary noble.

A few hours later, the head guard entered the mansion in a hurry. He had gotten the letter from the head butler and came running, thinking the mansion was under attack.

However he was surprised not to see any signs of struggle from outside the house.

"Scott!?" He called for the head butler while moving quickly through the halls.

His was panicking 'What if someone came and hurt the mistress!?, Master will definitely make me wish i was dead.' he thought.

Charles Willer was the most caring and loving noble in the city, but to his enemies, he was also the most ruthless High mage in the city.

"Sc....., master you're here!?, did something happen?" the head guard exclaimed. He didn't expect his master to be back for at least two more months.

"At ease soldier, nothing is wrong i just came home early" Charles chuckled.

"Of course sir" Percival calmed down and sat down on the chair next to Charles.

"What happened while i was away?" Charles asked.

"Nothing noteworthy sir, a carriage of ours was ambushed on it's way to the city a week ago but my guards managed to take care of the bandits"

Percival and Charles talked for a few more hours about what had happened in the household. Charles then began walking away to meet his wife when Percival stopped him.

"Umm sir, something happened to Peter" Percival said.

"What happened?" Charles asked. Peter was his personal student and he really liked him.

"He is dead" Percival said, he had gotten over his nephew's death but he was still angry. The worst part was that his body wasn't even found.

"Which family killed him?" A glint of killing intent flashed through Charles' eyes. Percival hid a smirk when he saw this, he was afraid that Charles wouldn't care about his nephew.

Percival could kill David alone since he was a rank above him, however that would cause problems with the hunters guild. The guild protects it's hunters from any outside force.

However, it doesn't care if the hunters inside their guild kill each other, that's why David wasn't punished by the guild. However those rules didn't apply to nobles. Most of the rules were made by nobles anyway so they could naturally bend them.

"It wasn't a family sir, it was David" Percival said.

"David...." Charles muttered as he narrowed his eyes. He was trying to remember who David was.

"Ohh that David, i knew they had their differences. Who knew it would end like this" Charles then furrowed his brows.

"No this isn't the full story, they had to have been fighting for something. Percival, find out the trigger for their fight before i take action" Charles ordered.

"Right away sir" Percival bowed and left the room, he was a little disappointed that Charles wanted to find out the reason for the fight.

He too was also curious but he wanted revenge as soon as possible. However after thinking it over, he started getting even more curious, he knew his nephew.

Peter wouldn't start a fight with someone stronger on a whim, there had to have been something so important to make him risk his life.

Finding that very thing became Percival's mission and he was sure to accomplish it, he was just ashamed that he didn't think of it before, if he had he would have really impressed Charles.
