-Glenn- - Trigger: Inkwell

The third day of classes is now over and now everyone is going home. I walk out of the classroom with a sigh, thankful that the boring teacher with her boring match class is now gone. The sky has this bold and rich orange color that was produced by the sunset. I can't believe that math class took that long. Last year, when classes were already done for the day, the sky would still be sky blue, but with a hint of the oncoming sunset. Well, now I have to adjust myself to create time for my...after school activities.

I stand on the bus stop near the shiny red gates and hanged around waiting for the next bus to come. There were a handful of students waiting, some of which are my classmates and some were some schoolmates. I said some hi's and hello's to the ones I knew and then minded my own business afterwards. Gosh waiting was boring and tiring. I ruffle my short curly brown hair in annoyance.

I reached out to the side of my backpack to pull out a metal water container. I held it near my ear and shook it a little. Hearing little waves of liquid crashing on the metal insides of the container, I get satisfied that it still had something inside. Twisting the lid carefully, looking around to see if anyone is watching, I took a large gulp of my drink to finish it off. Oh how refreshing it is, it's sweet yet sour flavor bursting inside my mouth making me close my eyes in delight and when it slides in my throat, damn, it spreads a spicy yet cooling effect there. I sigh in delight and popped off a button on the neck area of my uniform after I finish my drink and placed the container back at my back. I popped a quick mint in my mouth to cover up the smell.

A few minutes later, the large public bus arrived at the stop and everyone who was waiting were readying in anticipation to grab the best seats. Luckily I was second person in line so I could just grab any seat in the bus. The bus doors opened up and I got in and sat at the very back of the bus where it is one of the peaceful spots in the bus. I took a deep breath and looked at the view of the shiny window.

I hear a thud beside my spot. I turned around and saw a tan girl sat down beside me. She had this bored look in her eyes as she fiddled with her music note hairclip. I was taken aback her beauty. Her beautiful brown eyes, long silky black hair covering her forehead, and small cute lips. Overall, she had this "not trying too hard" look that I really dig.

I was so distracted by her looks that I didn't realize she was actually speaking to me. She sounded exhausted yet still tried to be respectful.

"Hey classmate, mind if we sit here?"

"Uhhhhhhhhh sure!" I replied excitedly, too excitedly. Now she's going to think I'm a creep.

"Cool. Don't worry we won't disturb you, right Dam?"

I leaned forward a bit to see this other person. This "Dam" guy was just sitting on her side, lollipop in his mouth and a game console in his hands while fidgeting on his seat frequently. He's probably uncomfortable in his spot on the middle of the singular row on the bus. He didn't seem to hear the girl the first time. She repeated herself again and mumbled and incoherent reply.

After that, the girl smiled at me before leaning on the shoulders of the guy. She grinned at herself before quickly pinching the guys' chunky shoulders.

"OW!"

Everyone in the bus looked at us on the back weirdly. The guy was covering his mouth and was blushing furiously like an exploding tomato. The girl hid her face behind the chair. And I just sat there confused.

The other passengers went back to their business and the bus started moving slowly. I glanced at the window and the school building was slowly moving far away from my vision. I looked back at the pair and they seemed to have gotten over that minor embarrassment. If only I didn't finish my drink so that I can be chill right now.

"I will get you back someday you bitch." The guy grumbled while rubbing the part that the girl pinched.

"Sorry. I couldn't resist the urge to just pinch your fats. It's so squishy!" She furiously whispered while laughing a bit.

They seemed really chill and fun to be with. I got to be friends with them. Bonus points if I get to have the girl. This is going to be so watermelon.

"So...uh...we're classmates?" I asked her awkwardly. Yeah, I am not good with people I just met.

She leaned on the guys shoulder (Lucky guy!) casually and shrugged. "Yeah, I'm Sheyla by the way."

Now I remember her during the first day introductions. If I remember correctly she has some sort of sound- type Trigger.

"Oh right you're the girl with that killer voice, pun not intended."

She smiled cutely before speaking again. "And you're Glenn right?"

My heart did a slight jump at her saying my name. She knows me. This is so watermelon!

"Well yeah, Glenn Rogers. How did you know?" I scratched the back of my head and smirked.

"I decided to know everybody's names yesterday so that I can get to know everybody. It's kinda rude if I won't know the names of the people that I'll be spending every day."

"I guess you're right. Now I feel like an idiot for not recognizing you a little while ago."

"Well it is still the third day, plenty of time to know the rest." She shrugged her shoulders loosely and smiled.

"Yeah, there's plenty of time to know you."

She didn't seem to hear that and proceeded to cuddle on the plump guy's shoulder. She looked at me again with a confused look. "Sorry, what did you say?"

"Ah nothing, anyways..."

We continued to chat about school stuff. We both complained about the math homework and how unreasonably difficult it is. She told me that she and Damien were going to do the homework together at his house and maybe do some light training together. For a friendship that formed yesterday as she told me, they seem awfully close already. Maybe the guy has a crush on her or vice versa, if so, that going to be so not watermelon. But the guy barely said anything in this ride, so what's his deal.

She is a really fun person to be with. It's like she knows what to say every time. A little thing I noticed too is that even though her Trigger allows her to modify her voice into any type she wants; she uses her soft, normal voice. From her looks to her style, she's truly a hidden star. She's so different than the club leaders' groupie.

Sadly this moment cannot last for any longer as the bus announced my stop. I turn around to look at the scenery and it was right. The familiar bland buildings and the many alleyways and corners show that I am nearing Good Luck spot. My cheerful mood shifts a bit as the bus draws closer to my stop.

The bus came to slow then on a sudden bumpy halt. It shook softly but suddenly like something bumped it; causing some surprised gasps from the passengers I hear a soft yelp and suddenly felt a hard thing land on my chest area, surprising me. I looked down at my chest and saw Sheyla sprawled down at my body. Her head was on my beating chest, her hands clutching my lean arms, her hair messed around on my stomach, and her-oh god I can feel her soft chest. It's so bouncy. Hers may look not that impressive but damn it feels-

I better stop now this is just getting embarrassing.

She slowly looked up at my really confused and blushing face. I looked away, uncomfortable in more ways than one. She looked at her position for a short while before slowly muttering a simple "oh." Without warning, she pushed me roughly against the glass and covered her face with her hands.

"Ah this is embarrassing." She groaned. After that she kept on repeating apologies without breaks.

I chuckle softly before patting her head softly. She looked at my eyes bashfully. We held that moment for a short while before the announcement of the bus interrupted us.

"We deeply apologize for the short inconvenience here." The speakers blasted out in a robotic voice. "A road bump was installed here recently and it wasn't loaded in our sensors. Once again, this bus apologizes."

Sheyla and I moved apart for our positions and looked away from each other. I think I should get going now before this could get any awkward.

"So-"We both speak up. We laughed shortly and then she lets me talk first.

"I should get going now? See you tomorrow."

"This is your stop?" She looks at the window view with confusion then looks at me with worry. "Are you sure?"

"Yeah, but I'll be careful."

"You could hang out with us. Do the math homework together."

"Maybe tomorrow, I have to do some stuff here."

"Okay then..."

I stood up from my seat, grabbed my bag and walked over to the exit doors. Before I went out I waved goodbye to Sheyla. She waved back, smirking. I was about to fully go outside when I noticed the guy beside her, Damien, winked at me mischievously like I should know something.

Oh.

So he's the one who pushed her when the bus shook. The bus didn't really shake that violently so there's no reason for her to fall down...unless she was pushed. And he pushed her, to fall at me. So he isn't her boyfriend and he also noticed my advancing at her. Now he's definitely someone I should be friends with. Tomorrow I'll definitely be with them again. That'll be so watermelon.

I step outside the bus doors and inhale the familiar scent of smoke and trouble of the area. I wasted no time and head towards the place of my after school activities. Entering an alley and going through numerous amounts of lefts and rights, also avoiding the eyes of the people, I walk with nervousness and nausea. After a short while, I see the flashing red neon sign of the club, Seer Verse. I was about to enter when suddenly I hear a very loud thud coming from a really large object. I sigh and turn around and the head security of the establishment, Bob, was looking up and down from his red sunglasses at my lean frame. I was about to greet him when he cuts me off rudely.

"Password." Bob says with his usual steeliness, He puffs his large chest, causing his tuxedo to expand and crossed his arms after.

"Do we really have to do this? It's me you know? Glenn."

"You might be an impostor. Now say the password."

I grit my teeth at annoyance because of how stern he is. Seriously, he should chill once in a while or drink the specialty drink of this club. But I know I can't convince him. This is so not watermelon. "Peering Eyes." I stated tiredly.

He pressed a button hidden on the edge of his sleeve. The metal door behind me slowly opened with a creaking sound. I flashed a grin at him before entering inside the building. "You know, take a chill pill."

The door quickly closed with a painful bang, causing me to jump from the shock. Honestly, they should really customize that door to be smooth and fast because it isn't watermelon. I better inform him later. Now time to finish this quickly.

I walk to the large staircase and open another door. Inside was the actual club. I confidently walk on the open space of the club. Multi-colored lights strobe the room in a continuous way and with the added EDM music blasting, gives off a happy and chill vibe, opposite to what I'm feeling right now. Partygoers are hopping and dancing around to the electronic beats. I skitter around the warm bodies, trying not to disturb them because he might be mad if his customers are disturbed. Since it is the almost the end of the late-afternoon, the club is still half full.

After a lot of dodging around the puffy area, I finally found my way at the end of the area. A wooden door ominously welcomed me to enter. I hold the doorknob and calmed my beating heart. I have seen him many times already, I have already engraved him in my memory, I shouldn't be scared of him now. It's just a small chat, after that I won't be seeing him for the rest of the week.

I opened the door forcefully, making its hinges creak softly. Inside was a narrow hallway lighted by a small yet very bright chandelier hanging above. At the end of the hallway was a velvet door standing ominously, welcoming me to enter its devilish arms. I close the door behind me and apprehensively walked the claustrophobic way towards the door. Each step brings about a memory from before I worked here, when I was just a bystander for...her.

I reached at the end of the path and wasted no time opening the door. With a forceful push, it slid open without noise and bright red lights filled my vision.

I step inside and it's as if carmine barfed all over the place. The office area had red walls (mixed with white because if it would be all read that would be so not watermelon), red carpet, red table, red fluffy chairs, etc. In front of me sits the all-seeing devil himself, Grimoire, smiling devilishly at me.

I tried to mask my nervousness by confidently walking towards one of the chairs sitting around and dropping myself with a thud.

He slowly stood up. He was wearing his usual outfit that I can recall him always wearing. A black tuxedo accented with a red tie and red fingerless gloves. He also had a black eye patch covering his right eye and the left was covered by his own messy velvet hair. He stood there like he had all the time in the world. He turned around and looked at the huge window that provides a view of the oncoming evening.

"Glenny thank you for coming here." Grimoire spoke playfully.

"Like I have a choice?" I mumbled.

"Oh don't be like that my sweet boy." He turns around and devilishly smirked at my direction. "You know you had a choice right?"

"Whatever. I didn't come here to talk about the past. Let's get onto business."

He walked towards one of the chairs and sat nonchalantly across me near the coffee table. "Go on."

"Well you asked me to observe my class if anyone acted suspicious and I think I may have found four."

"Oh. Do tell." He purrs, playing with his metal pin embedded on the breast pocket, a red eye.

I grabbed my sketchbook and pencil in my bag and focused all my energy to my fingertips. Little by little, power surges on my fingers, giving it a little tingle until I can feel as if the power is ready to be released. I can feel as if there something unlocked inside of me. With that in mind, I began to purposefully sketch on the rough sheet.

With each line, I give it life, to bring it into picture. The pencil tip leaves glints of yellow in its trail, letting me know that my Trigger is working on its magic. With each stroke, I begin to vividly remember the proportions and the dimensions of the object that I'm drawing without any errors. I took a glance at Grimoire and he looked at me with intrigue and amusement. I didn't give any damn and proceeded to give the work the finishing touches. I look at the finished product and pointed my glowing pencil at the sketchbook.

"Eternalize."

The page swiftly ripped itself from the book and flew aimlessly in the air. When it touched the ground, it glowed powerfully like a flashlight and suddenly four figures jumped from the page and landed gracefully on the floor. The glow then turned off, leaving only the ripped sheet of paper.

Grimoire stood up from his chair and circled around the figures curiously. He proceeded to touch one on the shoulder. The art form in a split second reverted back to its original sketch before going back to its lively form, but a piece of its shoulder gone, and traces of graphite now present on Grimoire's fingertip.

"Astonishing, I have seen a lot of Triggers throughout the years but your trigger never ceases to amaze me, beautiful and purposeful."

"Shut up, you sound like an old man. You're still 21 if I may remind you."

"Yes yes, 21. Anyways, who are the four beautiful girls in front of me?"

I first begin to point at the shortest figure, "Katie," Then to the proceeding others in height. "Camilla, Chirithy, Isa, the so-called popular girls."

He tried to touch Chirthy's chest but I smacked his hand away and glared at him. "They might not be real, but be chill okay?"

He pulled back his hand and cracks his knuckles while looking at me menacingly. "Feisty."

I took a step back and tried to smile at him. My hand was buzzing erratically and my heart feels like a huge and heavy watermelon. Oh no, this is not very watermelon of me. I slapped the hand of a mafia boss and now he's going to ruin my life now, just like how he ruined hers. I can feel the dread creeping on my body like a swarm of insects.

He raised his fist up in the air. I flinched at the sight of that, memories of her being punished in this room flooding. I have never been hurt by him before but the thought of him doing that stir up fear.

A soft pat landed on my head and ruffled my hair. He just stood there smiling gently. "I would never hurt you, my dear Glenny. You're too important."

I shook off his gentle hand and glared at him accusingly. "Then why did you hurt my sister?"

He shrugged his muscular shoulder nonchalantly. "She was incompetent, useless, and just a fodder for you to take her place."

I clenched my fists angrily, my fingernails digging deep on my skin, almost drawing blood. I really wanted to punch this guy badly. He is so confusing, and now I'm not being chill. I shouldn't over think this. I just have to get this done.

I cleared my throat and proceeded to drop the sensitive subject. "As I was saying, these girls are rumored to have a lot of pull in the school."

He flicked a quick finger at the chest, which made me growl in annoyance. "How?"

"I don't know. But they seem to have proven it from time to time. They have more budgets for their clubs; skip some classes for club activities, even pulling up grades."

He paused to think about something for a moment, his eyes flickering with curiosity and amusement. He grinned at me and did a thumbs- up. "Well, for now they should be your prime targets. Please observe them more okay?"

I sigh and rolled my eyes. "Fine. Whatever. Can I go now? I still have some math homework to do."

"Sure. Thanks for all your services Glenny." He went to his window and looked at the shining lights of the city. "And be careful; don't let your guard down. Something tells me the hands of fate are now moving."

I looked at him, confused, then dropping whatever care I had and closed the door to his office shut. I took a deep breath to calm myself down and turn off my Trigger. I survived another encounter with him and I don't have to see him until next week. My heart jumped from the joy of temporary freedom as I walk with each step away from him, and the memories of him hurting my sister.

I still couldn't get what is his end goal. Why am I important? Why isn't my sister important? Why is he interested in my school? What's about to go down? There are too many questions and not a lot of answers. Oh well, this isn't chill. Maybe this doesn't involve me. I just have to do my job and get it over with. Too many questions might get me hurt...like my sister.

I open the door back to the actual club and it was already jam packed. I wanted to chill here a bit longer but there are too much people and I can't chill properly. The place gives off party vibes but I'm not really in a party mood. Might as well head out, but before I do that, I'm going to get a refill.

I zigzag and skitter around the warm and energetic bodies of the people. It was difficult, especially since they kept on vibing everywhere. It was like people kept on appearing left and right, an endless wave of partying.

Finally after a short while, I arrived at the bar area. I took a seat at the one of the high chairs and looked for the bartender, Kass. He was serving some blue liquid at two girls on the other side, while flirting at them. He seemed to have noticed me and came immediately to me leaving the girls behind.

"Glenn! Buddy! How's it going?" Kass propped his elbow on the counter and leaned his face on his palm.

"Well, it's the usual stuff with him."

"Well that's too bad. Maybe someday you can finally be finished."

"Yeah, maybe." I sighed mournfully, knowing that it'll probably take a long time for that to happen.

He seemed to have sensed the atmosphere being somber because of the topic and decided to change it immediately. "Well, do you want any drinks here?"

"Now you're talking."

"I'll give you a little bit okay. I don't want you to get in trouble in your school."

"I can handle myself."

He ruffled my hair gently and sarcastically replied. "Sure you can."

What is up with people ruffling my curly brown hair?

I gave Kass my container and he went to work with my favorite drink here, the Eye Opener. He grabbed some blueberries, lemons, and mint leaves on a cocktail shaker. Next he added some sugar, then ice. Lastly, he poured some sparkling water and rum. The shaker slowly rose from the tabletop and it began vibrating and spinning around. He waved his hand to and fro energetically. Watching him mix my drink always makes me happy. I still remember when I was still young and I just kept on watching him serving up his delicious drinks to the people.

When few minutes passed, the shaker slowly landed itself on the tabletop. Kass popped the lid open and poured the contents to my container. He was about to give the finished product to me, until I reminded him that he forgot his secret ingredient. He sighed as he reached for something at the back and pulled out what looks to people as a sugar cube. But I knew better, it was actually a Trigger enhancer. It gives the user a little boost in their powers. It's one of Grimoire's shady businesses. Reluctantly, he dropped the drug on my drink and mixed it a few times before giving it to me.

"I should be a responsible adult and stop you from using drugs."

"Be chill dude. I need it anyways."

"Fine, but be careful okay?"

"Sure. Well then I'll be going now."

I stood up from my chair and was about to walk away but Kass called me out one last time.

"Tell your sister I said hi, oh and Grimoire placed a few hundred bucks on your account."

I nodded at him before walking away from the bar and towards the exit. The door opened automatically for me and outside was a line of people waiting to go in. Bob was standing guard stoically. I waved at him and he just grunted. He really needs to chill.

I strolled towards the barely lit alleyways of the area, making my way to the bus stop. I cant believe is already evening. Being with him always felt like a drag.

My thoughts were becoming jumbled as I tried to make sense of what's going to happen. How I wish I could go back to being a normal kid. But the world is so cruel and decided to make me work for that devilish bastard. Oh well, I just have to be chill and move on now. At least this "favor" from him is easy enough. Observation isn't really that hard. And after I'm done with that, I'll demand a resignation, maybe.

If only someone were to tell me the right things to do.

Hey guys! So I’ve introduced 3 main characters so far. 2 more to go and the real story can then begin. Hope you enjoy this and see you on the next chapter.

(Also if you watch Simgm productions then you probably noticed some things)
