Finding himself in yet another unfamiliar place, Calle had already gotten used to the feeling of being thrown somewhere random where he didn't have a single clue about where he actually was that he didn't even ask any questions about where he was currently and just stared at the new scenery in front of him.
Looking at the wide arching hallway around him that was also made up of stone and the dirt ground beneath his feet, Matthew could only guess that he was currently outdoors since the stone that made up the hallway was different from the smooth stone walls that made up the circular room earlier. The current walls were made up of rugged stones and the surfaces were very uneven as there were several protruding spots here and there while the other spots were concaved inwards.
If Calle were to make a guess on where his current location is, he would guess that he was currently inside a cave, particularly at the entrance of the cave. In front of him were the same wide arching cave walls that led to somewhere that Calle couldn't see since there was a turn not too far away from where his eyes could see.
Calle then looked behind him as he was curious about what he would find outside of the cave, but unfortunately for him, when Calle turned his head backward, he could only see the same endless darkness that he saw earlier when he met Gilgamesh.
Going along with his curiosity, Calle extended his hand forward to try and see what would happen if he touched the endless void of nothingness, but he couldn't even touch the darkness as his hand was stopped from moving any closer as if it was being restricted by a barrier that prevented his hand from reaching outside the boundaries of the stone cave.
Edric also tried the same thing as Calle as it pushed its tiny hands forward to also try and touch the invisible barrier, only to find that he also could not move past the restricting barrier.
"Calle, what are we doing here?" The little dragon asked.
"That… It's supposed to be a tutorial ground, but the tutorial for what? Is it really only for me to learn how to use magic?"
[Of course not! Learning magic is only the additional benefit that you will get from clearing this tutorial dungeon. More exciting things will be waiting for you if you clear the dungeon.] The cold mechanical voice said in his head.
Calle could somehow feel the cold mechanical voice was trying its best to sound more human, but it felt as if it was being restricted by the cold mechanical tone. But from hearing the way the cold voice worded its words, Calle could guess that it was rather excited.
So Calle kept his mouth shut and waited for a second as he felt that the voice wasn't done telling its piece.
[As I've told you earlier, you are currently inside the tower. And your current location is in one of the many dungeons inside the tower. Your ultimate goal is to reach the last floor, which is the tenth floor, and become the real dungeon sovereign with a real dungeon sovereign's strength to back the title up.]
[And of course, to reach that level, you need to progressively get stronger. You wouldn't expect to be the strongest existence in this universe in only a day or two, right?]
[This dungeon that you're currently in is the very first dungeon in the tower and it serves as the introductory stage for you to understand how the whole dungeon thing works. So, your first task as the new dungeon sovereign now is to clear this dungeon!]
"I understand, thanks for the explanation system." He replied.
Seeing that there isn't anything that he could do except for moving forward, Calle took Edric into his arms and held him before taking a step forward, moving deeper into the cave. He didn't know what to expect when he moved deeper into the cave, but from his gaming days, Calle could expect to at least meet monsters or other creatures that would serve as his enemies to train himself and make himself stronger.
And his guess turned out to be true as the moment he took a turn on the curved path, Calle finally saw his first enemy, and he couldn't help but feel flabbergasted upon seeing it. It was only a single creature and Calle would even be at an advantage since he also had Edric with him and the system had never told him about him having to clear the dungeon alone with his own fists. However, it was the type of creature that made him baffled.
Calle had been told several times both by Gilgamesh and the system that by becoming the dungeon sovereign, he would be the strongest creature in this universe, and he would be able to affect people's souls just by only being there, just like when he got that pure instinct to bend down and kneel to Gilgamesh just from being in front of the handsome man's presence.
He was told that he would not only be able to turn cities upside down, split mountains, or destroy buildings easily, but he would even be able to deal with people that were also able to do that as long as he wished for it. From there, he was then given a very ordinary-looking egg that turned out to be a dragon's egg. Then he was transported to a circular room and made a dungeon sovereign contract with the dragon where he got all the dragon's traits just by having a verbal promise with the dragon using the dungeon sovereign's authority.
And he was now in an unknown place with said dragon and it was the place where he was supposed to begin his journey to be the strongest existence in the universe. Calle knew that being the strongest was not an easy title to get, moreover when the scope of it was the whole universe. Even when he heard Gilgamesh pitch the idea to him in the first place, Calle was already prepared to go through countless hardships to achieve the end goal of being able to protect everything that he cared about and survive in the supposedly new world where power will be the absolute ruler of it.
He was ready for a bloodbath and a fight to the death to achieve this goal, and he wouldn't be surprised if his first opponent would be a strong creature that he couldn't even think about before.
However, Calle wasn't ready when he saw that his first-ever enemy in his journey to becoming the strongest existence was a single, cat-sized, blue-colored slime.
