Leveling Up

Before I went to bed, I remembered that I didn't check my magic after meditating, so I looked at it.

"After meditating for almost a whole day, my magic increased noticeably" I murmured to myself while rubbing my chin "it wouldn't be that much if it wasn't with the help of the fast level up".

I lay on the bed and opened the store to check the Wind Magic.

– Special Magic: Wind Magic– LVL 01 – Cost: 40 skill Points –

"I can buy it right now, but there is a feeling telling me not to buy it". I thought and decided to keep my skill points and ask Catherin to teach me it since she looked like someone who knew what she was doing.

The next day, I woke up early in the morning since I wasn't really tired yesterday. Amos and some villagers woke up with me, and among them was Catherin who looked more cheerful than yesterday.

"I didn't expect some kid other than Catherin, to wake up this early in the morning," Amos said while walking towards me "what about you join us for breakfast?"

"And how can I deny such a kind offer like this?" I said with a smile on my face.

"Haha, I'm flattered, young boy," he said and told me to follow him. We went to a big house that looked like some villager's house, and when we entered, a woman that looked in her twenties, and had green eyes and hair, was standing in front of the door to greet us, and when she saw me, she said to one of the villagers who had black hair and a huge body "is this the kid you said he collapsed near the village?". I felt embarrassed when she said that because I didn't want other people to know how weak I am.

The man put his hand on my head and said "Yes, he will join us for breakfast today so please Put it accordingly". I followed them into a big room with a big table in the middle. Everyone took a seat and waited for the breakfast to come, and while waiting we talked together. The guy's name was John, and he was the husband of Natalie, the woman who greeted us lately. After a while, Amos asked me "you can avoid answering this question, but why didn't you want anyone to take your scarf off? Your friend told us not to do it, but he didn't tell us why, though".

I was surprised by his question, looked around me to notice that everyone was looking at me with a curious look. "Well… it is because of this," I said and took my scarf off, and the moment it left my neck, an incredible pressure covered the place, and a big purple aura mixed with some black dust was surrounding my body. Some of the villagers were about to throw up so I put my scarf on again.

The pressure started to vanish, but some villagers were still having trouble breathing. Natalie rushed into the room and said frightened "what was that? Did anything happen?".

"No, it's nothing to worry about," John said trying to hide what happened "you should go get the food ready".

Natalie nodded while trying to hide her worries and left the room, and then Amos asked me with a fearsome face "what exactly are you".

"Don't worry, I'm just a human" I explained, "it's just that I have a power that I don't know what exactly it is, and I still can't control it".

Then the food came. Everyone was eating it in silence, so I finished eating, thanked them for the meal, and tried to leave as fast as I can. "You don't have to be pressured about it, Arthur," Amos said and everyone nodded "I don't care if you're a normal person or not... All I is that you're a good kid, so understand that you are welcomed to stay here with your friend as long as you want".

I was surprised when he said that, but I smiled and said, "thank you, I really appreciate it". I was about to leave but Catherine finished her food and said "Arthur, wait!".

"Huh?", Catherine didn't talk or even look at me the whole time, so I was surprised when she called me. She followed me and said "let's go train together, I want to learn more from you"

"Ah, Ok" I accepted and went with her to the place she was practicing in yesterday.

After we left, john asked confused, "did something happen with those two?"

"I don't know" Amos replied, "but I didn't see cate this cheerful in a long time, and that's what really matters to me".

While we were on our way to that big field, I asked Catherine "weren't you afraid of me when I took my scarf?"

"Hmm? And why would I be?" she replied.

"Huh? What do you mean?" I said surprised. She stopped and said, "look, it's not a shame if you're bad at something, or in your case, you don't know how to control that power you have... And grandpa told you, right? you don't need to be pressured about it".

I smiled and felt relieved as I heard that. When we got to the place, I asked her to teach me Wind Magic, and she immediately agreed. She taught the structures of the wind element and how it works, and after an hour of trying, I finally did it.

"I don't think Catherin knows about the special spells, so I'm going to learn the normal ones from her and see if I can buy the special ones later," I thought. I then spent 8 hours until I fully learned all the normal spells from Catherin. I also taught her some basic Martial Arts.

I decided to head back into my room to rest for a bit and meditate regain my MP back and then level my magic up, so I thanked her and left the place. And when I got home, I decided to first check my stats.

"Hmm, I leveled up by just learning those normal spells," I thought "and my magic also went up… so I can level it up by doing other things aside from meditating". I then spent the rest of the day meditating, and when I finished, I instantly fell asleep. From that day on, I built a strong friendship with Catherin and she was talking more openly day after another. Andrew joined us the next day and taught me the normal spells of Light Magic and other special spells that he knew. The process to learn and master Light Magic was much slower than Wind Magic, which took almost 5 days to do. Still, both of them told me that I learned both elements faster than the masters did themselves, and that was probably due to the fast level up skill. I kept going on the same routine for more than a month. It was hard and exhausting sometimes, and meditating was boring in other, but in the end, I finally achieved what I wanted.

When the Systems notification appeared, I was sweating so much, and I was breathing heavily because I put in more effort that day. I fell on my back and shouted "Ah, finally… This took forever to achieve, but I feel satisfied by this". I was practicing alone that day because the other two were helping Amos and the others to get ready for the arrival of the royal expedition, so I went back home and before I know it, I fell asleep until the next day.

When I woke up, the expedition hasn't arrived yet, so I decided to go and try the special spells, but before that, I checked my stats, since I didn't do it for 2 weeks by that time.

After checking my stats, I went to the training field we always use, and as expected, no one was there. "I think they are probably preparing themselves," I said to myself "well, I'll try my new spells and then go see the others". But what wasn't expected is that the royal expedition arrived when I went out of the village.

I didn't have any targets, so I went to a near forest, used a tree as one, and decided to start with the Light Bow. At first, I had some problems trying to cast the spell, because I didn't know the exact words for it, and I didn't have an exact image of the spell in my head. But after trying to imagine it for a couple of times, a huge whiteish yellow bow that was almost as big as my body formed in front of me.

It wasn't very obvious due to its color, but the bow has wings-shaped blades on the sides. I didn't know how to use it, and I didn't have any arrows so I just pulled from the back, and an arrow with the same color as the bow appeared, so I aimed at the tree and shouted it. When I fired the arrow it started rolling, creating a strong wind that caused the grass to move aggressively.

The arrow completely destroyed some trees and caused others to fall. I said with a face full of surprise "Uhm... Author? Don't you think that this is quite too strong for a LVL 01 spell?"

– Amos' point of view –

When we checked for him, Arthur wasn't in his room. we tried to look after him, but we didn't find him anywhere so we just went to greet the royal emissary without him. A fancy trolley with a small number of knights surrounding it arrived. A big elderly with a white beard and a black suit stepped out of it and started approaching us, he extended his hand to shake me and said with a smile on his face "I'm Sebastian Whitesoul, the royal emissary. I'm happy to meet you".

"it's my pleaser. I'm Amos, the head of the village" I replied and shook his hand. We then felt the earth shaking, and a strong force was coming from the forest outside the village.

"what was that?" Catherin asked in terror

We rushed with Sebastian and the knights towards the forest, and when we arrived some trees were destroyed, and Arthur was standing there with a surprised look on his face.

– Arthur's point of view –

"What happened here, Arthur?" Catherin and Andrew asked with a focused gaze.

"Relax you two, I was just trying a new spell, and… well, things went out of my hands" I replied.

"Could you show it to me then?" a man with a black suit and white beard stepped forward saying...
