Teach used the debris as a distraction to get as close to Ace as possible. Teach used his Dark vortex to pull Ace in his direction. Ace, surprised that he couldn't use his Devil Fruit, couldn't react in time and found himself in Teach's grasp. Teach grabbed his neck and landed a punch coated with Armament Haki, sending Ace into the wreckage.

Teach rushed towards him, closing the distance between him and Ace.

Teach: "Dark vortex !"

Ace: "Double Fire Blade!"

Ace burned Teach's hand, who, despite the pain, didn't give up. He managed to touch Ace, a smile forming on his face, and pinned Ace to the ground, delivering a punch to his stomach. Teach had no intention of releasing Ace. He used the darkness to prevent Ace from dematerializing and began to land various blows while pinning him with his knee and one hand. Arriving at the ship, he handcuffed Ace himself and covered him with Seastone nets.

Teach: "Laffitte, contact the Marines. Tell them I'm offering a pirate worth over 500 million berries in exchange for the Shichibukai position."

Laffitte: "Yes, captain."
