Chapter 452: Painful or Painless?

| Author's note: I've come down with a fever, it's not COVID fortunately, but you will notice a lack or decrease of uploads from me for the next few days. |

Eros and Nike are being brought in front of the Olympians where we will vote on how their death will go. Hestia who's currently roasting a marshmallow at the Heart would join in if us 12 have a tie in votes. The council of gods are leaving the decision for us to make, we can do anything as long as it results in their deaths.

Apart from Psyche, Styx, and Hestia, no gods are allowed, not even Dabria, who got a notice to not spectate the trial at all. Styx is here similar to Psyche's case since Nike is apparently granted a privilege to have some last words with her mother due to her past contributions before she went to the other side.

"Don't even wink at Psyche." Hera ordered "Due to Psyche's contributions, we have allowed her to have her lasts words with you before you go, but if you decide to disobey any of us, I will revoke that privilege from her and I'm sure you don't want that."

"Threatening me using my wife...very effective." he chuckled

We are first discussing the fate of Eros, and once we're done, we'll move to Nike who unlike Eros, will probably have a more favorable outcome than Eros since she did used to work for these guys and it seems like most of these like her..

"Well I have a lot of sympathy for you, you know. I, myself, have also taken a mortal wife who I have treasured very dearly, I will make my stance clear." Dionysus said as he chugged a glass of wine which automatically refilled itself "I will not be discussing this in depth with the others, I'd say just be done with it and give him a painless death."

"I may not personally have a history with him, but I'd say a painful but short one, we let him live long enough, Chaos might actually save him for further uses." Artemis suggested "Besides, he needs to pay for what he's done."

"Yeah, on the list on what he confessed so far, we confirmed that about 80% of it is true." Athena added "The amount of gods these 2 sacrificed over the centuries is beyond absurd."

"I might sound bias, but I'd say just give him a painless death, he did what he believed in, Zeus did way worse and only suffered a permanent castration." Ares chimed in

"Well to a love god, castration would be eternal humiliation for him at least." Apollo joked "I bet he would rather die a death that last over a month than suffer humiliation like that."

"That's true." Eros confirmed "I would rather die than suffer such a hit to my pride and honor."

I'm mostly just keeping quiet hoping to just vote when it's time to vote. At the end of the day, his soul would just go to Hades who already informed us that he will just completely erase the soul in which no traces of him can be reincarnated, he will suffer the ultimate death.

I kind of feel bad for his wife, but even then the guy has got to suffer the consequences. Knowing him, he's probably prepared some things planned out to make me suffer already.

Aphrodite looks a bit conflicted, he served her well and he is her son, but I can see that she wants him to at least pay for his crimes by dying a painful death, luckily, it's not time to vote yet.

"Well Perseus, would you like to share your opinions?" she asked after meeting my gaze

"I already know my answer, the painful option, but I agree on making it quick, I have my son to worry about, and the tides could turn at any second. Even though I personally wish that he would have a very long death, it'll be a cruel thing for his wife. I just want him dead."

"At least you got your revenge." Poseidon laughed "Not a lot of people have manage to do that over the years."

In the end the vote ended with the favor going to the painful option. With only Ares, Hera, and Dionysus in favor of the painless death option. We then discuss Nike's fate which was in favor of a painless death.

They then got their last words with their loved one as we left the punishments and execution to Poseidon. I then went home to see Marella waiting for me who then presented a letter to me.

"I foresaw the death of either Nova or Elektra." she said "And I told Nova who then tried to take on the fate for himself and he left this letter for you and your goddess in case it were to come true."

"Couldn't you at least have told me?" I responded as I took the letter

"You would try to change the future, you already changed one." she answered "Messing with time is something someone shouldn't do. You reacted a bit differently than expected."

"I have more than enough to deal with these days, and so overreacting and blaming you isn't going to help, but thank you."

"He said that he was a remnant anyway, it's better for him to die instead of letting someone else die." she added "And he has enjoyed his time greatly with all of you, he'd at least hope to live long enough to become an uncle at the very least, but he will die with no regrets knowing that someone is taking care of his baby sister."

-More like I'm taking care of you.- Dabria grumbled

"Anything else?" I asked

"Me and that other princess of yours have foresaw another thing." she answered with a more serious tone "An unavoidable fate, if Chaos were to be released from her vessel, there shall be the destruction of everything."

Gotta kill it fast then while it's still killable.
