Loguetown

3 and a half weeks later we were finally able to see our destination just 3 days before the execution was scheduled. We spotted Logue town early in the morning and about an hour later as we were closing in on the port town we realized how crowded it was. Even while we were sailing here there were always 1-2 ships in sight heading in this direction but now that we've almost arrived we can see the severity of how many people are here.

We could see around 3 dozen navy vessels suitable for traveling the grand line stationed in and around the port. However they could do nothing to the nearly one hundred different pirate crews which openly flew their flags as they waited just outside the port. It was a stalemate but even then some of the more powerful crews dared to stay in the city with the navy not doing anything about them. Though they wanted to attack the pirates they didn't have the courage to do so with how big the numbers difference was. This was the same for both sides as the pirates didn't want to draw more navy to the town before the execution so even unarmed civilian vessels were able to safely pass the pirates who were waiting till the day of the execution to enter the town.

"Wow, it's quite busy."

"Yes"

"Well let's go in, no point in waiting." I said before our navigator sailed us between the pirate vessels as we headed toward the town. After a few seconds we noticed 2 navy vessels start sailing towards us as a tense atmosphere formed with our ship in between. The pirates who were behind us at this point were slowly beginning to recognize our flag as we sailed in front of them. Their focus had been completely on the navy and weren't paying any attention to the civilian vessels passing them until now. Thankfully it only took a second before we could feel the atmosphere settle back down as they realized the navy wasn't attacking but simply escorting our vessel into the port.

I could tell some of the marines on the navy ship were nervous about escorting me. After all, some of the men have probably been to Sabaody before and have seen what the other dragons do there.

"Haaaa" I let out a heavy breath. 'It's sad to think that as the leaders of the world we are seen as terrifying monsters in the eyes of the normal people.'

After about 10 minutes our ship finally entered the port. Ropes were thrown over the edge as some marines on the dock started tying off our ship. I looked over at Leigh who nodded to me as I walked up to the edge and simply hopped over onto the doc with him following. I could see a few of the marines nearby wince thinking that I was gonna be injured as it was a 10-12 meter drop from the deck to the dock. I added a little wind magic to slow my fall as I softly landed on the deck before walking towards the town, Leigh followed behind and a few of my guards scattered around the city to watch me from afar. I could see that there was a tense atmosphere amongst the citizens as we passed them, after all, Roger is the most famous pirate in the world. The people are obviously not comforted by the marine presence. After all, with the amount of pirate ships encircling the town, nobody would be able to sleep peacefully. Well… other than one person. I think to myself as I look towards the marine base in which I can feel a powerful presence residing underneath.

"Hmm, it seems Garp isn't here yet. Well not like I have anything else to do." I say to myself as I divert myself down a side road.

Leigh follows me silently as I take twists and turns and eventually end up in front of a small bar.

"Gold Roger…. quite the bold name." Leigh says while chuckling.

"It indeed is, we'll let's go in." I said before pushing open the doors.

The place was lively with dozens of people crowded inside drinking, the atmosphere seemed solemn but at the same time excited. Those inside being some of the few who were wondering how the pirate king was gonna escape his execution. After all no one except the Rodger's and marine executive's knew that he turned himself in.

After a few seconds the bar quieted down. More and more people gazed in our direction as the bar went silent. It's not very surprising as Leigh has a world government insignia on the breast pocket of his shirt.

I walked up to the bar where a somewhat muscular man was standing.

"May I help you?" He asked in a respectful tone, after all his business was named after the pirate king and who knows if we were here to arrest him for it.

"What does Roger get when he comes here?" I asked slowly

"What? I don't know what you're talking about." He responded in a very convincing confused tone of voice.

"I know Roger has been here before, I can sense remnants of his presence here." I say trying to bullshit some answers out of him. (No the mc cannot sense the remnants of someone's presence. However the people in the bar don't know that.)

"Haaaa" the man sigh's before pointing behind himself at a keg.

I took a look and two words are inscribed on the keg. "Logue town Brewery, nothing tastes like home I guess." I mutter to myself while thinking back on the scene when shanks and whitebeard meet. 'Apple doesn't fall far from the tree.' I think to myself as a small smile appears on my face. "I'll take two kegs"

"I'm sorry?" A confused look appeared on his face.

I just looked at him and nodded my head towards the keg. He then realized I wasn't interested in him and was only there for the alcohol so he walked into the back and came back with a keg in each arm.

"That will be 30,000 berries sir" He says quickly.

"Here" I said as I handed him the money and stored the two kegs in my stabilized pocket dimension. (Using space magic a small pocket dimension about 10x10x10 can be stabilized and used without much effort, any bigger and it would require too much attention from the MC to use as he is passively keeping it open and connected to himself.)

I could see the pirate's eyes widen for a second before they dismissed it as a devil fruit. This is one thing I learned about this world in this timeframe. Pirates are a lot more familiar with devil fruits, heck, People in Paradise run around using Haki which was only found happening in the new world during Luffy's era. Although there are probably only 2-3% of the pirates now as there will be in 20 years, each of these pirates is far stronger individually. They are far smarter too, as many are just adventurers looking for the truth of what happened 800 years ago. Yeah quite a lot of people know of the void centuries existence however no one knows what happened. Just seeing the average pirate shrugging off a devil fruit and not getting jealous over its existence is just mind boggling compared to what lengths pirates will go to in the future.

I turned around and exited the small tavern as some sighs of relief could be heard behind me. Leigh simply followed me quietly as he wondered where I was going before seeing me turn in the direction of the marine base. He raised an eyebrow before quietly muttering "He isn't doing what I think he's doing… Right?"
