Prologue – Death and reincarnation

My life can be described to be as boring as can be as nothing else ever happens.

After leaving my university, I joined a major marketing company and am now living alone at the age of 30 without having any girlfriend throughout my life.

I had 2 older brothers taking care of my parents, being the youngest of the three siblings, I left filial duty to them as they are much more wealthy than myself, one being a doctor and the other being a scientist in a large government firm.

Due to myself being a so called 'Chibi', with a height of 155cm, and even though my face can only be described in one word, cute. I still had no girlfriends to speak of.

Well, this was not a reason why I had no girlfriends at all throughout my life. The biggest reason is that I am an otaku during my early years in school and when I started work after graduation, it was too late for me to find a cute and beautiful girlfriend that suits me. The work environment makes it harder for me to find a girlfriend as everyone is so competitive.

It is not like I can't find any girlfriend at all with my cute and lovable face. Yup, not like I am making any excuses… really.

My old junior from my university days, Yamura, approaches me as we make our way to the anime convention. We still met up every end of the year for the yearly anime convention to look at all those cosplayers and different anime merchandises.

As we make our way towards the cosplayers' section, Yamura noticed something and nudges me in the elbow.

As I turned towards him and saw him gazing towards two yakuza-like bastards trying to pick up a female cosplayer and her friends as they were looking scared.

"Nee-san, wanna hang out with us and have a good time?"

These female cosplayers were backing off and looking scared as these yakuzas slowly corners them.

"Oie! Stop it! They are not interested!"

Being chivalrous as always, Yamura rushes towards them while shouting.

I sighed as I followed behind my friend while looking around for any security guards to stop these yakuzas.

"Bastard! What did you say? F** off and mind your own business!"

The yakuzas turn and glared at us.

"You F** off, F**ing trash of society, they are not interested in you F**ers at all!"

Yamura snapped back at them while I slow signal those female cosplayers to get back behind us.

"What did you say you bastard? You want to die?"

The yakuza roars at Yamura while taking out a knife from behind his clothes. Yamura look at the knife that the yakuza was holding and starts to back off a little bit, looking a bit scared. The females behind us also look scared holding on to my clothes.

"Stay calm, they won't dare to attack us in such a public place."

I assured them as I turned to face them.

"Kyaaaaa"

A screeching scream sound out suddenly. Confused, I turned around to stare blankly as the yakuza charged towards us with the knife.

'Really!?'

Confused and shocked that it really happened as the yakuza stab forwards with his knife towards us and I got stabbed in the chest as Yamura avoided the knife. It was too late for me to dodge as I was turning my head back towards them and not noticing that the knife holding yakuza stabbing towards me.

*Dosu* A burning painful sensation hits my chest as I cough out blood.

"Shit! Run!"

The two yakuza then snapped out of anger and ran away.

"Senpai!" "KYAAAAAAA!"

With a shout, Yamura rushes towards me, shaken by the sudden turn of events. The females cosplay screamed so loudly that onlookers come towards and surround us.

I don't really know what Yamura is saying at this moment as my hearing is also gone, I can't hear anything anymore as I look at Yamura's crying face as he stare and shout at me.

"Senpai! Hold on! The ambulance is almost here!"

Yamura said while sobbing as he stares at my dying face while clutching my hand.

I turned to look at the onlookers and one really catches my eye. It was a tall silver-hair cosplayer wearing a dark coat and a 2 meter long sword.

Tall and strong, my definition of a perfect human male…

'If I really reincarnate in my next life… I hope to be like Sephiroth.'
