Chapter 23

"Hey!" Brendan says, the said person hearing this turns their head around.

"Brendan its been a while, you here for the gym too?" May says in an excited voice, not expecting to see Brendan while trying to collect gym badges.

"Uh yeah I've been doing well just got my gym badge actually." Brendan says nervously. Brendan remembers how May was when she lost to Wallace. May looked depressed, but now she seemed to be back to her old self.

"Nice was the gym badge hard? What's Brawly's ace Pokemon? Which Pokemon did you use?" May be starting to ask a lot of questions in such a short amount of time, starting to confuse Brendan a little bit, making him short circuit.

"Brawly's ace was a Makuhita actually quite the resilient Pokemon is you ask me, well I got to be heading out soon good luck on your gym battle!" Brendan says as he hears his name get called out. Brendan getting his Pokemon from Nurse Joy, releases Mudkip to his shoulder and starts heading to the cave.

'Damn how far is this cave man in the games it's only like 30 tiles away, not even.' Brendan groans, he's been walking in the same direction for two hours now.

After a few more minutes, Brendan spots a little cave entrance out near the beach and presumes that's where Steven is. 'If isn't the right cave, well, bad luck, I guess.' Brendan says to himself

Brendan making it into the cave sees only one tunnel leading straight ahead. Multiple Pokemon like some wild Zubats and Makuhitas can be seen while Brendan is trudging through the cave. After a while Brendan can see another entrance leading to a big open room.

In the big room can be seen a huge landscape looking art and a Person with silver hair staring at it deeply (Thats what she said).

'Damn how has this place not been made a tourist attraction yet the paintings on the wall looks amazing.' Brendan says to himself.

Brendan walking up to the silver-haired person, is suddenly shocked by a huge Metagross looking at him, menacingly floating out of a corner, but a split second later stops.

Steven Stone getting out of his stupor to see all the fuss Metagross is making looks behind him. Behind him he can see a boy, but after a few seconds she recognises this boy. 'This guy is Brendan the Rookie Tournament winner who has the egg of my bred Metagross and Aggron.' (We ignore the fact that Metagross can only breed with a ditto ok?).

"Hello there Rookie! What you doing down here?" Steven Stone says curious to see how Brendan got here in the first place.

"Uh yeah Mr. Stone has told me to get you outta your sight seeing and come back up to the surface and have a chat with him." Brendan says, noticing the curious gaze from Steven's Metagross. Brendan guesses that it recognises the psychic energy in his bag to be similar to his own, and stops being aggressive.

"Oh I probably should of checked the time, I've got time right now before heading back to Rustboro you want a ride? Boats aren't faster than a champion level Skarmory." Steven says a little gloatingly, trying to find some company on the way back.

"That would be great actually! I really need a ride to Mauville for my fourth gym badge!" Brendan ignoring the subtle flex, is currently excited on the prospect of being able to get to Mauville faster and on the champions Skarmory!

After a while both Steven and Brendan head out of the cave and outside to where both of them get ready to leave.

"Skarmory we'll be headed to Mauville town alright, just be a little careful I don't think our company has ever ridden on flying Pokemons back before." Steven shouts, to the embarrassment of Brendan, that Steven guesses he's never flied on a Pokemon before.

Both Steven and Brendan hopping on Skarmory's back after using a portable saddle looking gadget. Brendan a little awkwardly though after a few tries gets on Skarmory. Skarmory getting the signal to go, starts to fly up at top speeds.

"He's so fast!" Brendan screams out while air is constantly invading his lungs. Steven seeing this, chuckles at Brendan and tells Skarmory to go a little slower.

"The region looks so beautiful Brendan says wihout thinking.

"I agree the best part about flying is seeing the region, the vast oceans and the beautiful terrain nothing can compare to it." Steven remembers the time he first flew on his fathers Corviknight.

Brendan feeling the adrenaline pumping while in the air, tells himself that he will a Pokemon that can fly later in the future in the back of his mind.

This is my first time making any story tbh, so it feels pretty good to see people comment and stuff. But as a reminder, this is like a practise, so I can learn to have better quality writing, so if I make a mistake, please tell me.

So when I finish this ff, I can write a way better one. Im still trying to make Pokemon battles more detailed, it's just hard because its just a Pokemon using psychic man. How tf do you counter that irl change your fighting type to dark lmao.

It's like if the Kirlia wanted to it could just teleport away and spam psychic, it makes it boring and short chapter ehh??
