Chapter 101 - The Collapse (1)

Everyone was ready to go and everyone had their own things to say. Ruby was the first one to see the familiar place they left only a couple of days ago.

Ruby: "AwwWwWwwWw... I thought we were done with Mountain Glenn."

Ruby was looking around to see if there was anything that had changed since they were there last time and didn't notice anything. This time she had a notebook in her hand to keep notes of things she finds just like Shallot had told her. Since she was the leader of her team that means that she was the one in charge of keeping information on hand.

Weiss: "Here we are again. I hope things go better than last time."

Weiss was hoping that a train filled with explosives wasn't involved again because that was the most stressful day that she had. Other than that she thought that whoever this Dr. Merlot is must be great at hiding since they didn't even know that he was around here.

Blake: "Great. Mountain Glenn. Again. I thought we would be able to continue being around some nature but we had to come to a resolute place like this."

Blake wanted to finish this mission as soon as possible so she can go back to taking her naps. She also wanted to get back since she heard that the Sais of Passion while having a sequel book and she needed to head to a book store to get it.

Yang: "I didn't think we'd be coming back here so soon."

Yang was surprised that they were back here. It wasn't a lot to do here last time but they also didn't heavily look for something that could be an underground facility used for experimentation and exploration. She was interested that they were dropped near the outskirts of Mountain Glenn this time since she could see that they were surrounded by some trees while they had to run into the city.

Jaune: "So this is Mountain Glenn... You know you hear stories but... Aah, it's just a lot worse in person..."

Jaune was having another mid-life crisis as usual.

Nora: "We're not going to miss the action in Mountain Glenn THIS time!"

Nora was excited about everything knowing that so far the mission has been fun. She's been able to smash so many Grimm with her hammer and was ready to smash some more.

Pyrrha: "I heard Mountain Glenn is crawling with Grimm. We should be careful."

Pyrrha was on the lookout since she noticed the closer we get to the source the more Grimm shows up. She hadn't really come to this amount of Grimm since coming to Beacon academy.

Ren sighed seeing the excitement of Nora and knew that usually meant trouble for him later but resigned himself to always dealing with the cleanup. It's what he's always done for his childhood friend.

Ren: "Mountain Glenn. We shall fight to avenge those who were lost."

Coco: "I would usually say that we should be careful but..."

She looks over at Team RWBYS and specifically Shallot.

Coco: "I think that with Team RWBYS everything will be just fine. Even the most dangerous thing we've dealt with has been dealt with easily. It feels more like we are here more for training.

Velvet was looking at the city building in the distance and could see that everyone else except Team RWBYS was cautious. She looked and saw that Ruby was still writing in a notebook now and then.

Velvet: "I think it's nice that we get the chance to see the city this time. We didn't get sent on a mission here yet even though we're second-year students."

Fox: "It will be interesting that nothing has attacked us since we've been standing here. Usually, we are attacked almost immediately."

Yatsuhashi nodded his head in agreement but didn't say much.

Yatsuhashi: "I agree."

The group started walking forward seeing some small stone slab stairs as a transition from the forest ground to the concrete of the ruined city. They walked up the low number of stairs into the city and could see a couple of straggling Grimm walking around the corners of the building.

Pyrrha used the iron dust turning into an iron spear and launched it at the Creep Grimm destroying it. More Creeps started coming out of the buildings hearing the noise. The couple that was there was easily handled.

Ruby was using her Crescent Rose firing rifle shots dealing with them from a distance and casually strolling through. Blake was using her Gombal Shrouds to shot. Shallot was more in a hurry to just finish the mission so he was firing finger beams wiping out any that came across his eyesight.

Fox was using Sharp Retribution and fighting in close quarters with the few Grimm and decided that he might as well use the mission as a way to get more experience. He landed an uppercut punch into the stomach of a Creep and sent aura into it making it inflate and popped like a balloon.

Coco: "Since there is quite the number of us I don't think the few Grimm is going to be that much of trouble."

Shallot nodded knowing that there really isn't anything on this mission that could really threaten them. Even if he wasn't here for this mission he knows with as much training he has given the girls they would be fine. Mostly Blake since she is still growing in strength.

After they finished the Creep they started walking down the street since Dr. Oobleck said that the place they needed to head towards was the center of the city. They could see some Beowolves that were roaming the streets last time.

Ruby: "Uhhhh. Not again, I'm tired of Beowolves. Can't this guy capture some Grimm with some variation."

Yang dashed into the middle of the Grimm slamming her fist into its face and pulling the trigger blasting it. She went on a mini rampage destroying the Beowolves before the others had the chance to do anything.

Yang walked back seeming to have more of a hop in her step. Blake looked at Yang thinking that she must be getting frustrated since they have seen the same type of Grimm every time they come looking for anything with Dr. Merlot.

Inside of a room with monitors sat Dr. Merlot reading some lines of codes running across the screen.

Dr. Merlot: "I do have more than just three types of Grimm. I just don't have the ability to control them... yet. Maybe I can get another controller Grimm and target that monkey Faunus. He seems to be the strongest out of all the ones there.

If I can get him then even if I can't use the full strength of his body then I can make it bring him back to experiment on. Why is it that he hasn't dropped any blood though. If only he bleeds I could do more experiments. Uhhhh."

Dr. Merlot threw a cup thinking about all the times he sent drones to look for someone useful but they never got anyone except that one girl who was able to get free.

Dr. Merlot: "It is because of that damn monkey Faunus back then also wasn't it. They one that I was searching for originally. The reason that the Neo Beowulf couldn't bring back anyone. Ahahahaha."

Dr. Merlot started madly laughing when he read some code that came by and a notification from his old lab.

Dr. Merlot: "That failure survived... it survived... with this maybe I can finally figure out the nigh immortality of that old witch. If I have it then I can."

Dr. Merlot looks towards a canister holding a young child missing the left and right arm of its body. It was a small boy with a claw mark on his face leading down to his chest. It was a black liquid running over the child along with electrical nodes to keep track of the vitals.

Dr. Merlot: "If only Ozpin helped then my son wouldn't be in this condition. It's all his fault and I'm going to make sure that whatever he tries will fail... and you will be my way to accomplish it."

On another screen was a video being showed from one of his droids he sent to the old lab to see if that Grimm died. When it got there it saw that the tunnel to the room was collapsed. The audio could be heard from droid and sound was coming from under the rubble. The voice of a little girl could be heard but the voice was distorted.

???: "Why me... why me... help mommy... help daddy... please no... why me... why me... why me... why me... why me... why me... why me..."
