War is Coming!

"LINK!" Anny, Lisa and Rena exclaimed. They ran towards the door as they jumped at the person standing there.

"Hey, I'm home!" Link smiled, holding his family. He was worried all this time, unable to sleep properly. He worried that something might have happened to them, he worried that he'd never see them again, and he worried that he had lost them too.

The rest of the day was spent catching up with them. Link told them all about his time in the Second continent, and how he became a Master Mage.

Link was surprised to find out that Lisa and Rena were Level 3 Mages now, while Anny was a Level 2. Her age was her biggest hindrance, but compared to others, her progress was decent.

They each held better positions with their advancement, making more money in the process. Rena was a Doctor now, performing higher level spells. She worked at the biggest hospital in the Kingdom with other Mages, helping commoners and nobles.

Lisa decided to join the guards. With her Level and the Beast Souls provided by Link, she became one of the strongest guards. Her duties are to patrol a designated area with her squad. Keeping order between commoners and Mages.

Anny took interest in craftsmanship. She bought and learned certain spells that allowed her to control silks and fabric, creating masterpieces. Her clothes were then sold in huge stores and malls, earning her quite the hefty sum.

After catching up, they all decided to celebrate. Link took them out to one of the fancy restaurants he knew of and they ate quite the feast. This boosted their morale, while easing Link's nerves.

"Link" As they were eating their dessert, Anny looked at Link with an odd expression as she asked. "Where is Samuel?"

This question echoed through their ears. Lisa and Rena stopped eating, imagining the worst, while Anny could already guess what might have happened from Link's description of the Academy's state.

"He's fine!" Link smiled brightly as he reassured them. He did not need to go into details with what he could do or what he's planning. All they needed to know is that he will be well.

"He is?" Anny smiled. "Where is he? Why hasn't he come back?"

"He is taking care of certain matters" Link lied. "After surviving the attack, he knew how weak he became and wished to temper himself"

"When will he come back?" Rena asked.

"I am not sure" This was the truth. Link knew what he needed to do with Samuel's Soul, but he did not know where to begin or what he was missing.

After reassuring them, the night ended with them back home in bed.

"Is that him?" A voice spoke.

"Yes sir"

"He is already a Master Mage? How is he advancing so fast?"

"I am unsure, but this was the case even when he was a mere Level 2"

"You're saying it isn't due to an item or some other method?"

"Yes I believe so" The voice continued "He is of common birth. His village was in the outskirts of the Kingdom, so the area was already wiped clean by both sides so neither would steal or take from the other.

From the stories I've heard, he had great talent since infancy.

Speaking and walking at a very young age.

Reading and writing while others of his age were doodling.

He learned hunting from his father, but taught himself fighting and magic from books.

He fought 2 Hell Bears by himself and managed to take one out before being saved by Saya while traveling with one of this Kingdom's Princes.

Killing a Pawn Demon with ease using higher level spells that he claims he taught himself.

All of this was done before he even turned 14"

"You think he is suitable?"

"If there was no outside influence to all his achievements, then i believe he is suitable"

"Then it shall be!"

The dark figures vanished from the rooftop. Leaving nothing but the ominous full moon looking down at a house. A face appeared in one of the windows, looking at the spot.

"What the hell was that?" Link frowned.

The sun awoke from its slumber, and people were heading to their jobs. As they passed by the boards set in each region, they noticed an announcement written.

*To all the Citizens of our Kingdom.

A war with the Inolid Kingdom is inevitable. We lost enough, and now it's their turn to lose something.

We would like to offer Cultivation methods and all the resources needed to all whom are interested in learning how to defend themselves and their families.

We will not force you into battles, but to all whom are willing to volunteer, he or she will be rewarded for their service. Be it combat or support.

More Announcements and News will be provided to you by your local Churches.

Pray to the gods.

Bless our Kingdom and all our Soldiers.

We Shall Emerge Victorious*

People crowded in front of the boards to read the announcement.

Some were struck by fear and panic, while others were eager and or excited.

The Kingdom's number of Citizens more than doubled since the attacks happened. Other than the big Cities outside, all the Commoners from smaller Cities or from villages have taken refuge here. And upon reading what was written, they had one thing in mind…

Revenge!

Surprisingly, a huge number of Citizens volunteered to learn true Magic. This was a chance they could not pass.

For the ones who only wish to learn and not participate in the war, they were given Cultivation Books and guides till Level 3 with some defensive and offensive Spells.

While the ones who wished to join, were provided with Cultivation Books of higher quality and guides till Level 5. After testing their talent, some were provided with Support Spells and few Defensive and Offensive ones, while the others were provided with combat Spells with few Support ones.

People started to focus on training. They were given Resources while at the same time Mana Fields were constructed by Inscription Masters all around the Kingdom for easier and faster Mana consumption. This worsened the quality of Mana consumed and Mages would prefer not to use them, but time is a commodity they did not have.

Combat Arenas were Created and combat classes were held non stop. The Citizens were eager and unwilling to waste such an opportunity.

Link took care of writing what he learned in the Academy in separate books and gave them to his Family. He also prevented them from using the Mana Fields, but allowed their use of the Combat Arenas. He knew very well that battle experience in a fight would determine who leaves alive.

Most businesses were forced to shut down temporarily as no one was willing to go to work anymore, except for a few.

Restaurants, Shops and many more were closed. Seeing this made the situation seem more real to people.

War is coming!

Link was not contacted by anyone after that meeting, so he did what he wanted.

Teleporting as far as he could and searching for dungeons, Link failed to find ones that were at his Level. Declining all the weak ones.

On his travels, he heard a voice speak in his head.

[I can sense another fragment!]
