The Seed and The System!

Clank!

Sparks flashed as Link slashed Hue on the back, the sound of the clash echoed, as Link pulled his knife back he saw that there was not even a scratch on the armor.

After Blinking out of that dangerous spot, he appeared behind him and not wanting to waste the chance, he attacked him.

Hue realized what he had done as his kick was midway, he could not stop at that point but when Link vanished again he was shocked, frozen in place.

The skill Link used "Blink" is very similar to a spell called "Jump". It's a Space Element advanced spell, very few people are capable of using it. When Link disappeared when he attacked at first, they were shocked thinking that Link had an affiliation with the Space Element, it was an impressive feat but it did not shock them as much as it did when he used it to dodge the kick.

For someone to use "Jump" there are certain steps that need to be taken for it to work, Passing the Space Element throughout all of his body and locking on the spot for teleportation. That takes a lot of time, at first they thought that Link prepared all of that when he was running towards Hue, but after the sudden kick and him Teleporting instantly, they found out that they were wrong.

"I won" Said Link, taking a few steps back. He would have been killed if that kick landed on him and that made him feel threatened by Hue.

Hue turned around, staring at Link as he started to speak in a low voice.

"How did you do that?" Hue had a confused frown "For someone to manage that he has to be a Master Mage but you're 13, that was impossible."

Link now understood. Zero told him about Jump as to use it as an explanation when asked about his Blink skill, but now he had to come up with an excuse, since for someone to perform 'Jump' that quickly, his casting time has to be extremely fast, and that only applied to Master Mages which are Mages who reached Level 8 and Up.

"I had it prepared," Link said, trying his best to think of something.

"What?" Hue was confused even more.

"I cast it twice when i was running towards you, i had another prepared for any accidents that might happen" Link smiled.

"Even that doesn't make much sense, how can your body endure the effect of the Space Element of the Jump spell in the first place, and now you're saying it was double that?" Hue asked again, looking at Link with suspicion.

Link was taken aback, he got himself out of a hole to fall into another. "I should really learn how to lie better, I keep getting myself into situations like this" Link thought to himself.

"Hue, enough" The captain finally spoke, he started walking towards them "I've seen it happen before, just not with a kid but it is still possible. It means that he has great affinity with the Space Element or he's slowly damaging his body without him realizing it. This is enough for today, Link won your small duel and seeing his abilities and his Beast Soul Dagger, it's not that surprising for him to kill a Demon pawn."

After further questions and scouting the woods and the area around for any more signs of the demons, the Royal Guards got ready to depart. Before they did, Hue approached Link who was following them from behind.

"Kid, sorry about the whole incident, You're talented and the Royal Guards would welcome you. If you wish to join, ask about me at our headquarters in Rechanguard City, i'll be glad to put in a good word for you." Hue patted Link's shoulder and passed him something "This is for you, i supposed i have no use for it anymore, but it might be of great help to you."

A light shone from Hue's hand, flying up and running straight into Link's chest, when Link was about to ask what that was he heard something that cheered him up.

<Sky Turtle' Beast Soul received>

Link was shocked. Hue noticed the look on his face and spoke.

"It was something i've used for a long time, but as i grew stronger i got my hands on better ones, but that was still one of my first Official Beast Souls, take good care of it" Hue turned around and walked to his group, they each stood with some distance between each other, when suddenly the wings on their backs opened.

"Thank you" Link yelled as the group started flying.

"You're welcome" Hue yelled back.

The village chief, Link and the hunters stood watching them go.

Zero confirmed to him a while back that the wings were Beast Souls, and when Link asked her about what the captain said about the skill being harmful, she reassured him that the 'Blink' Skill is different from the 'Jump' Spell.

"What did you give the kid?" The leader asked, aiming his question at Hue.

"My old armor" Hue smiled.

"Isn't that a Level 3 Beast Soul? Why would you give that to a peasant?" One of the guards spoke.

"Peasant or not, the kid is impressive. It might be of some help to him" Hue answered.

"It's a waste, you could have sold it for a small fortune, it is still a Level 3" Another guard spoke.

"I'm a Level 5 Warrior and I'm so close to breaking through to Level 6, why would I care about a Level 3 Beast Soul, let him have it, It helped me back in the day." Hue said with a smile on his face.

Since his fight with Link, he felt impressed. Not only was Link proficient with the knife and spells, but he was skilled in hiding his killing intent until the last moment, that was something not even powerful warriors can easily do.

Link sat on his bed, reading something.

<Sky Turtle's Beast Soul> <Armor> <Basic Level 3>

"A Level 3 Armor Beast Soul, we hit the jackpot Zero" Link said with a smirk from ear to ear.

<Congratulations, but shouldn't you make a decision about that Mana Core?>

"Yeah, you're right" Said Link as he reached into Inventory and pulled out an odd looking Core. It was shaped like an egg, Its color was pitch black with faint dark smoke rising from it.

After Link defeated Peter and got the body, he immediately Got the Core and asked Zero to consume it for him, but an odd message popped up before he could continue.

<Immense amount of the Dark Element detected, Continue? Yes/No>

Link did not know if that was a harmful thing or not, even Zero was unsure so he decided to refuse and hold on to it.

"I do want the skills and Mana, Peter was a Level 2 Dark Beast after all but i can't risk becoming like him, until i know exactly what the Dark Element is, i'll keep holding on to it." Said Link, as he put the Core back in his Inventory.

The days passed quickly, Link was unable to Level Up anymore since his parents kept a close eye on him, not allowing him to leave the village.

With nothing better to do, Link wanted to improve his skills with the bow. Since back then it was the skill he got from the system that got him to that level, but now he had no skill related to the bow and that decreased his accuracy and power.

His birthday was getting close, with only 2 weeks left. Link practiced diligently with the bow, making his accuracy now on par if not better than his dad's. Though as time passed with his practice it only confirmed to him that he could no longer gain any skills from repeating the same action anymore, it pissed him off and kept ranting about it to Zero.

<Doing something a few times and getting the skill perfecting it is not good, that was an error in the system which was fixed. You won't learn anything if you keep getting things that easily, and when you reach a certain Level and fight powerful enemies you won't be able to keep up since you lack proper mastery of your skills. Please understand.>

Link kept bothering Zero about the system, and he managed to learn a few things from her.

First, the skills offered by the system are things related to his actions. Meaning that if all he did was practice and use the bow in fights to Level Up, the skills offered will be related to the weapon.

Second, the system is something related to a seed, one of power planted in his soul, and for that seed to function properly the system was created. It was the connection between himself and it.

Third, the reason why he receives Experience from killing Monsters or living beings, is because the seed requires Souls as a form of food, the more it is fed and the better the food the more power it can give it's bearer.

Link was a bit freaked out from the new information, since it was out of nowhere, but bothering Zero over and over bore fruit at least.
