The Bandit Hunt (3)

With Ambush and Shadow Walk, Link made no sound whatsoever as he made his way towards the closest group to him. Feo's group.

Feo was shooting arrow after arrow at the slippery Clone. She found it odd that the boy didn't attack but all she could do at the moment was shoot her arrows trying to hit him.

Pang! Pang! Pang!

The arrows hit the trees while some kept flying somewhere. Link dodged left and right while attacking once in a while. The guards would deflect his attacks easily, which was not making Feo happy, but it bothered her too much.

In their last fight, Link was strong. He managed to go up against her and the rest with ease. They nearly died if not for Lilia's interference, but now he seemed to be acting strangely, like he was wasting time.

"What is he trying to do?" She thought, moving away from the area her group was on. She never forgot that day, where he used some sort of trick and caused an explosion that nearly killed them all. She thought Link was preparing something here as well, as he never seemed to be attacking for real. "Come on" She yelled, sending another barrage of arrows towards him.

The clone seemed to be as good as the real Link. His speed seemed to be equal to him as he moved and dodged easily. But due to being too far away from the real Link. All the clone could do was keep dodging, as it was the registered command Link left. He didn't want to make them attack and risk having them dying in the process, ruining his plans. Of course he didn't forget to let them attack once in a while though as to remove any suspicion until he was done.

As Link ran towards his next targets, he felt something happen. His connection to one of the clones was cut off. "One of the clones died?" Link frowned. Without hesitation, he turned around and started heading towards the source.

"Good work sir" A guard looked at the man standing on top of the clone's body. It was Paul.

"Ha!" Paul laughed out of nowhere, startling the guards around him. To be honest, Paul was known for his crazy hobby, which was why most people in their camp viewed him as senile and scary. The guard took a step back instinctively as he was looking at the man laughing maniacally in front of him with confusion.

"Did he finally lose it?" The guard thought to himself. But before he knew it Paul turned towards him, a giant smile still planted on his face. "Did he hear me?" The guard thought, sweating profusely.

"No i didn't hear you" Paul laughed "I can't read minds, silly"

The guard was frozen. He didn't know if he heard him or not, but Paul seemed to be answering perfectly. After a couple of seconds he looked at the guard again and spoke "But according to how you behaved, I'm guessing what you just thought was about me and it wasn't anything pleasant either?" He took a step forward, and the guard took a step back. "You're mistaken sir, I didn't sa…"

The guards around were stunned. They saw them talk, but the next thing they knew the guard's neck was cut as blood flowed. "I hate liars" Paul muttered. He looked back at the body on the ground and said "This is not the real him. We have to go and assist the other squads. Let's get moving" As Paul finished his words, the body behind him started to shine red. "What's happening?" One of the guards asked.

Boom!

Suddenly, the dead body exploded, sending the guards to the ground. While Paul covered his eyes with his arm. A small shield stood in front of him. It looked like a normal shield, but it was floating in the air. Seconds later it vanished, turning into Mana particles. "This kid is.. AWESOME" Paul started clapping.

Link was looking at Paul with a frown. "Is this guy ok?" He thought. He grabbed his Bow and aimed, Imprinting Mana and a couple spells on the arrow. Link has been wanting to try an idea he had some time back and thought to test it out now.

The spells that he imprinted on the Arrow were 'Shadow Clone' and 'Heavy Strike'. What he wished to accomplish was fairly obvious. He wanted to multiply the arrows with shadow clones and with Heavy strike, Link was hoping that it would turn the arrows into powerful projectiles.

Link put 20 000 MP into the arrow, and released it. Then what happened was fairly satisfying. He saw the arrows split, and 5 arrows flew straight towards the guards.

The guards reacted, but using their swords and wooden shields to stop the arrows was pointless, as each arrow successfully broke through and planted itself in its targets head, killing them on the spot.

Link was happy with the results, though he could feel the 'Heavy Strike' spell he imprinted grow weaker after the arrows multiplied. "It still needs some work" Link thought.

"Wah!" Link suddenly heard someone clap. He was too engrossed with his little test that he forgot about that crazy man. "That was impressive. Good job" He said, giving Link a thumbs up.

"I don't know if this guy is actually like this, or he's making fun of me" Link thought, jumping down from the tree branch. He landed smoothly on the ground and started walking towards Paul. "God's Area" Link muttered, as an invisible dome surrounded both Paul and himself. "It doesn't seem like he noticed, so no one can see it huh? Good" Link thought. He never got to properly test out his new skills and now was the first time Link used them in battle.

"Too bad i have to kill you" Paul spoke, his expression was of disappointment "We would have had so much fun together"

"Freak" Link said in a low voice as he Blinked right behind him.

Ding!

With a full swing from his Dagger, Link hit an odd shield. It looked like the giant ones used by knights, but it was floating in the air. Link was surprised. His strength was immense, as he could destroy steel and punch through stone like it was paper, but this thing didn't even budge. "No no, not today" Paul waved his finger playfully.

"This guy is getting on my nerves" Link thought, frowning.

Ding! Ding! Ding!

Link spammed his strikes. Blinking to different places to attack Paul, but each time he seemed to successfully summon that weird shield and block all of his attacks.

"Ha!" Paul laughed "My turn!"

Wosh!

Link's senses were going crazy, as he felt like he needed to get out of there, but it was too late as a club formed out of thin air and smacked Link like a baseball. Sending him flying away. "Home Run!" Paul yelled out "was that right?" He muttered to himself.

"No it wasn't" Link appeared right next to him, his fist clenched with a light glow. "Heavy Strike" Link yelled out, and his Mana dropped significantly.

Boom!

The shield appeared to protect Paul, but it seemed this time it was not enough as he was lifted off of his feet and sent flying away, slamming into trees. "I hate baseball" Link muttered.

Baseball was a sport that existed in this continent, with many others. Link was surprised at first with this but didn't think about it for too long, as he didn't care.

"ARGH" Link could hear Paul screaming from where he sent him. Some time later, he appeared, running towards Link. "That hurt you fucker" His expression was completely different. It didn't seem like he was having fun anymore, as the hit took him by surprise.

Paul was powerful due to his creation magic. He could create anything he needs and use it without moving a finger. Making him one of the strongest people in Kaibol City. and with power, it meant that he never properly felt pain before.

<He seems to be weak of mind. Try that skill on him>

Link knew exactly what Skill Zero was talking about, as he muttered to himself straight away after hearing her say it "Mana Illusion" It had been a while since he used the Skill, as it needed an immense amount of Mana. Link has been fighting powerful creatures in groups for a while now and never got to use it until now.

Paul's eyes started to shine, as he saw his surroundings change. "Where am i" He muttered, looking around frantically.

"It's all your fault" A female voice spoke in the distance. The moment Paul heard it, his expression changed to one of fear.

"It was all your fault" The voice continued "I wish you were never born"

The place looked like he was in water. Slowly it started to change, morphing into a room. It was huge with a giant bed in the middle. People crowded around it as a person laid there barely breathing.

A woman looked towards what looked like a 5 year old boy, her eyes were full of hatred and resentment. "If he dies i'm going to kill you" She spoke through her teeth. The people around looked at the boy but didn't say anything, like they were agreeing with what the woman said.

"He's dead m'am, sorry" The doctor that was checking the boy on the bed shook his head with a sad face. The woman was frozen, before she looked at the 5 year old boy next to her and jumped on him, her hand wrapped around his neck as she squeezed. "It's all your fault." She kept yelling, squeezing more and more.

"I'm s..sorry" The boy spoke as snot and spit covered his face. The people around looked at him on the ground with eyes full of scorn "M..mom I'..m S..orry"

Back in the real world. Link stood there looking at Paul as he was frozen in place, his face pale and on his neck blue spots were starting to appear. His eyes were slowly fading as he muttered in a low voice. "I'm sorry"

"That was too easy, this skill is terrifying" Link said, looking at how much Mana he has left. He opened his inventory and grabbed a blue potion bottle, downing it quickly.

<It shows the target his or her worst nightmare, which might lead to their death. Which is why it needs a lot of Mana to be cast. Too bad you can't use it in group fights since it leaves you vulnerable>

"I wonder what nightmare he saw" Link looked at Paul's body for a second before he started walking away.
