Rewards!

"Ok, it should be all good now." a man in a black suit spoke. He's a guild employee in charge of the cleaning crew.

"Yeah, thanks." said red "Do you have any information about the men? They seem to be well dressed and planned this." Red needed to faint ignorance, he did know who hired these people, but he didn't know what organization they belonged to.

"We've found a business card in one of the mens wallets, it's the RUTH organization, they hire old rankers, ones that couldn't handle a dungeon dive, too scared or injured. even if they are useless rankers, they're still awakened people, which is a lot stronger than an average person. so people hire them for varying types of jobs." The guild employee answered.

"Understood, thank you," said red.

After the crew was done, the house looked like new, not even the smell of any cleaning products was left, that's because none was used, what was used was magic, this type of magic is considered to be level 0, easy enough for anybody to use after training. from what red saw, none of the crew members was awakened, but were taught and trained on how to use mana. This was discovered a long time ago, the awakening only boosts your mana manipulation and it differs for each person, some get extra mana capacity, others have innate skills or abilities just like red.

Red was unaware of this, his family was in the low class, in which rendered them ignorant to a lot of things, so such information was not known by everybody. he even found out after asking the employee that some of the rankers registered at the guild were not awakened, they bought pills and elixirs to train their mana and body. awakening is just a head start, after that the person has to train and learn himself.

The level 0 spells used by the cleaning crew were considered as 'life magic' that can help people in their everyday life, like a small flame lit on your finger, water drop is the condensation of water elements which creates a small amount of water, a low level telekinesis which can only carry small items, the purification spell that the cleaning crew used to remove any trace of the mess. Even some of the middle class know a spell or two.

Red was upset, he knew nothing and needed a way to get more information about the world. He knew that enchanted items and elixirs were available to everybody including non-awakened but he didn't think it was this much.

"I should go check on my mom and sister upstairs." red muttered. they even fixed the door for him, it was some spell that red didn't know, the door slowly returned back to normal like nothing happened. He locked the door and went upstairs.

He enters his mom's bedroom and finds them both sitting on the bed, it was a white bed with white sheets and wooden frame, 2 night stands on each side, a carpet on the floor and a vanity set.

"Hey, are you ok?" said red while walking up to them.

They both looked at him, his sister was crying and his mom was hugging her.

"Yeah, what about you?" his mom asks.

"I'm ok." said Red, he was already sitting next to them. He looked at his sister and mom's arms, they had scratches and bruises the shape of a hand.

"Those fuckers." red muttered, they were rankers, as much of a bunch of failures as they were, their strength was still beyond a normal person.

"Healing touch.." said red as he touched both his mom and sisters heads. a faint light glowed and their hands healed, it was back to normal.

"What was that?" his sister looks up at him. The healing touch skill creates a warm and comfortable feeling when being used on somebody, which has helped her stop crying.

"It's a small skill I have." said Red with a smile. "Let's go downstairs, how about I cook for you guys?"

"No, you'll burn the kitchen again." answered liz.

"Hey, that was a one time thing, and i'm better now." said red.

"You're not." said his mom. they laughed, but after a bit they stopped.

"Did you kill those men?" asked liz, even though her eyes were closed, she still saw and heard some of what happened. After hearing the question, his mom looked at him as well.

"What? no, no. they're rankers, those types of injuries won't kill them. i called the guild, they came and took them away, they'll be properly taken care of and will pay for what they've done." said red, he didn't want to tell them what really happened. He was afraid that they'd look at him differently.

"Really?That's good, I want to take a shower." said Liz, before she hugged red and walked out.

"Did you kill all of them?" his mom asked suddenly after liz left.

"What? no mom, they're fine." said red with a smile.

"I'm not stupid red, i know that you did it." raya continued "Those pieces of shit deserved it."

Red was stunned for a bit, the smile on his face dissipated "I did what I had to do."

"I know hun, it's ok." raya hugged red as well.

...

"Hello, welcome to the rankers guild. How may I help you?" a beautiful woman stood in her red dress, smiling at red.

"I was told to report back to the guild for my reward." said red "Here." he handed his guild card to the woman.

"Yes sir, understood, just one second." she took the card and typed in the computer "Here it is, follow me please" the woman smiled at red and started walking to one of the couches in the hall. "Please sit."

"Yes, thank you." said red "So what are my rewards?"

"Someone will join us in a bit sir, please wait." the woman smiled at red.

She looked stunning, beautiful green eyes, and her black hair lay on her shoulders. red entered the guild from another side, not the same as last time but nothing has changed other than the employees.

He was a bit confused "Who is it?" he asked.

"This section's manager sir, he would like to talk to you himself." she answered.

Red could do nothing but wait.

...

"Sorry for being late, traffic." a man in casual clothes walked over to them. He wore a light blue shirt and black pants with brown shoes, he also wore what looked like an expensive watch on his left arm.

"No problem" said red as he greeted the man with a hand shake.

"Can i call you red?" said the man while smiling. "Yeah sure" red answered.

"Awesome, you can call me lino." said the man "Ok, shall we begin?".

"Yeah, sure." answered red "What are my rewards?." red was getting impatient, he was uninterested in any form of relationship he only wanted to take his reward and leave.

"Ok, i read the report from the supervisor, a lot of investigations and research are being performed on the portal. we do not understand what happened, but we hope to." said lino "And i've also heard about the incident at your home, and it is being properly investigated. if you required psychiatric help after what you had to do, inform me and i'll take care of everything."

"No need, I'm ok." said red.

"Well, ok. The rewarding system of our guild is very thorough, we've looked into you, as we do with every member, and we have the most suited thing for you." said lino with a smile "You've managed to clear a dungeon by yourself and from what was reported by your party, you protected them and fought well. they even gave away their loot to you, so we have prepared a few things that might be useful for you in your dungeon dives." he continued "Considering the recent incident of the break in, we've decided to give you an apartment in one of the buildings owned by our guild. it's very spacious and will be safe for you and your family."

"You're giving me a place for free?" asked red.

"Our members can purchase such a place with a 50% off. it's our way of assistance." answered lino "The place will be registered in your name, you can move in whenever you want, we'll provide you with the address and a moving crew."

"Ok, thanks" red didn't know what to say exactly, this was good, since the building is owned by the guild, the security is very good and he won't have to worry about such an incident to happen again.

"Haha, no need for thanks. ok, now the next reward. from what we were told by your party at the time, you used both magic and physical attacks, plus the summoned creature." lino continued "We registered your class as a magic swordsman for now, you're still new and without proper equipment, so we've decided to reward you with some."

"So like a staff or sword?" red asked.

"We had something else in mind, since you can use both, we've decided to give you a unique equipment, a staff helps with boosting the speed/strength of spells and mana manipulation, so as long as an equipment has that function it'll work just as good. 'Magicians hands' is a pair of gloves with such attributes, it will be of great assistance. plus an enchanted sword, you do not possess swordsmanship skills, so we enchanted a sword with one. This enchantment is a type of enhancement. it is very common with swordsman rankers, it boosts the swords sharpness and the users control over it.``

"Aren't these too much?" asked Red, he was pleasantly surprised, he didn't think he would get enchanted equipment.

"It usually requires a team of E rankers to clear the dungeon, and even so there will be losses, but you managed to do it by yourself while protecting others. such an achievement can not be ignored." lino smiled "Which is why we've decided to promote you to E rank. and we'll add a skill book with it, Regeneration. it's a passive skill which will boost your body healing function, allowing you to heal much faster than average."

"I understand how clearing the dungeon alone was good, but this is still too much, the items are way too expensive." said Red. He wasn't trying to refuse them, but he was worried about why they would give him this much.

"I understand your confusion, but with the clearing of the dungeon and your rank up, the rewards are not that big of a deal. This was decided on the moment we received the report about the dungeon, and the apartment, you can see it as a good gesture from us." said lino."

"Ok, sure. thank you." said red. He was happy with what he received, he didn't want to waste his money on equipment and was planning on not using any for now, so this was perfect. "I have some loot from the dungeon by the way." added red.

"No worries, when you're settled in, give us a call and we'll send somebody to pick them up, and the payment will be decided after reviewing the items. Congratulations on your rank up, red." said lino with a smile.

Red had nothing else to do, he took care of the apartment documents and was now the owner of the place. He called his mom and informed her.

He was told that the rewards will be delivered to his place later.

After taking care of some things, red and his family moved to their new place. The building was located in a very good spot, it had more than 50 floors, with it's own pool, gym and a lot more. It was way too fancy that they felt like they didn't fit in at all.

They walked in, took an elevator to floor number 43 and stepped out. The floor had what looked like 5 apartments, each with a white door with the number on it, their apartment number was 3, red guessed that each floor was like this, the apartments were numbered from 1 to 5. They opened the door and walked through it. The place looked huge, 10 feet away from the door, was a staircase going upstairs, the place had 2 floors with a huge living room with a flat screen. In the living room there was a huge window with an amazing view, the 3 couches were grey in color facing the tv in an incomplete square, the kitchen was decorated well, it had everything needed.

except for the dark brown hardwood floors, everything else had white and grey colors. The place looked great. liz and raya were surprised, they walked around checking the place. upstairs there were 3 rooms, with a bathroom for each, and a balcony with chairs and a table.

Red was happy with the place, they were told they do not need their furniture so they left it all back home and took everything else.

Seeing his mom and sister happy, his heart felt lighter.
