Max Level!

Link used his Mana to level up The Story of Genes, and when he did, a cool feeling flowed through his flesh and bones. It was like his body was dehydrated and he finally got that sip of water.

This was a surprise to Link. He did not expect it to have such an effect this time since it has been a while since it did. "Wasn't my gene modifications done?" Link asked himself. Then he understood.. "This is the tenth Level isn't it? Is something going to happen?"

After a while of that comfortable feeling flowing throughout his body, his cells started to change, making Link's body glow. He looked perfect, like some kind of newborn deity.

Link felt like he was in his best shape. No. He was doing better than he was in his best shape. He stood there for a bit, taking in the feeling. His body's glow slowly started to fade away, until he was back to normal.

Ding!

Link froze for a bit. He couldn't keep up with all the messages and each time he read one, his excitement grew. "There were these pre-set rewards in that Martial Art? If i knew of this i would have leveled it up a while back" Link first opened the Martial Arts Tab then the Skills Tab.

Link pressed on each new Martial Art and Skill, then read their descriptions with sparkles in his eyes.

[Heavenly Steps: A Martial Art dating back to the ancient days of the god wars. Created and used by the God of War himself. It's a set of Movements created and blessed by the Heavens]

[God of War's Fists: A Martial Art that belongs to the God of War. Despite owning the Heavens Fury, his Axe. The God of War enjoyed using his fists more]

<God's Area: Allows the User to summon his own God's Area which enables him to claim it as his territory, giving him immense Physical and Magical Boosts. (If two Areas collide, the one with the strongest Mana wins)>

<Heavy strike: It's a one attack Skill that depends entirely on the User's Mana. The more Mana used, the stronger the Strike.. "One strike rules all">

"Amazing" Link muttered. He the moved to his Status and added the Point he received to Stamina. He needed to get it to 15 to receive the usual massive boost.

Link then added the Skill point to 'Death Energy'. It was a Skill that helped Link greatly in his fight against the Ghoul. Its debuff was so great that not even a Level 5 Creature managed to do much.

"We're gonna have to delay our visit to the Bandit for a bit" Link said, walking out and heading towards a small clearing in the forest. He summoned Zasho, commanding it to stand there while he stood in the middle of the field, thinking about something..

Five minutes later. Link looked like he finally started to move. He put a leg in front of the other as he dashed forward.

Left, right, duck, dash. He started to continually perform a set of odd movements around the area. He was practicing the Heavenly Steps Martial Art. Since receiving it, Link could faintly recall its basic movement, like it was something he read a while back and just now started to remember the contents.

After 2 hours, Link finally stopped and opened his Martial Arts Tab, looking at the Heavenly Steps.

<Heavenly Steps> <58 / 100>

"Interesting.. That Title really did boost my learning speed. This God of War thought of everything didn't he" Said Link. After a small brake he went back to it, easily Leveling up the Martial Art after another 2 hours.

<Heavenly Steps> <0 / 200> <1> -- New --

Link noticed his movements changed after the Level up. He was moving around like an experienced warrior who've been in countless battles. He practiced with Zasho for a bit and Link noticed that he could make some guesses as to what his opponent's next move would be. It was like a muscle memory, his brain already knew what to expect before it happened. As he practiced more, he realized that it was not something magical, but he could see the smallest movements in Zasho's muscles and successfully discern the move and prepare himself to avoid the potential attack.

It was impressive. Link tried to focus on it and he was struggling to perform and spot those small hints by himself, but after the Martial Art's second level up, he noticed that there was no need for him to try. As he could automatically do it like an instinct.

Spending the whole day outside practicing, Link totally forgot about the Bandits and started heading back to his Inn. He was too tired to teleport himself in there and decided to walk in an attempt to avoid that nauseating feeling.

"Sir Link. The City Lord would like to have a word with you" A guard covered with fancy armor stood in his way. Behind him stood two guards on each side, with their weapons in hand.

"The fuck is this" Link frowned "This old man is really getting on my nerves"

"What did you say?" The guard yelled after hearing Link's comment. Even though Link could not see his face under the helmet, he could still guess what his expression would probably have looked like from his angry tone. "You dare disrespect the Lord? You are under arrest" The guard yelled, catching the attention of what little passersby were left in the street.

"You gotta be kidding me" Said Link "Since when do i work for your fucking Lord to be bothered everyday and forced to do his work?" Link started to yell back. He already was planning on taking out the Bandits and agreed to the quest but did not give a specific time to the guard that gave him it. But the Lord did not fail to send someone every single day to ask him about it. They would stand outside his Inn or wake him in the morning telling him to take care of it today. Some guards even spoke in anger, even going as far as to order him. "I think i've been too nice to you fuckers" Said Link "It is a quest, something i have the liberty to accept or deny. I have the liberty to choose when to do it and have the fucking liberty to take my damn time if i wanted to" Link never had the best image of people with wealth and influence. That day in his old world really traumatized him.

"You traitor. The Lord went as far as to show you, a lowly commoner some respect, but you go and start acting all arrogant. You are under arrest for disrespecting the Lord of our City, and also under suspicion of colluding with the Bandits of dz…." The guard stopped speaking, or more like couldn't speak any further.

Link's eyes were glowing, taking all the focus from the rest of his body. The area became darker, with Link's eyes the only source of light. This was not happening to the guard only, but to everyone who were unfortunate enough to be in Link's presence at the moment.

"If i don't do and act as you want me to, i become a criminal and get accused of all sorts of bullshit huh" Link spoke. His voice was echoing in everyone's ears. "I'm going to leave this continent anyways. Maybe i should clean up a little" Link muttered to himself, but quickly pushed these thoughts away and calmed down. "I'll take care of the Bandits tomorrow. If anymore guards come to bother me again, I swear your City Lord will wish he never met me" Link said and walked away.

The guards stood there unable to move. As Link got further away from them they slowly started to go back to normal, taking deep breaths. "What was that?" one of them asked. The people around fell to the floor, vomiting. They were nowhere near being strong enough to handle what just happened.

"Sir, This brat is too rude, you can't let him behave like that. You should show him who he's dealing with" The man that was speaking to the City Lord was Lucias Goujin. Julian's father. He never forgot what Link did to his son and the problems that the whole thing caused him. "This is my chance. If i can't take care of him myself then i'll use this old man" He thought to himself.

"This boy killed 3 Level 5 Creatures, and one of the highest ranking adventurers in our City. I don't believe doing anything to him is a wise choice" The City Lord spoke.

"Who said he really killed 3 Level 5 Creatures? He was the one that reported them in the first place and when he claimed he killed them, he only provided 1 corpse without even a Core, and now he's afraid of the Bandits, delaying his mission as best as he could. Something is up with this kid, my lord. You can't let him fool you" Said Lucias.

The City Lord went silent for a second, his eyebrows raised as if he realized something. "You're right. It makes no sense that a kid like him really did do all of that. This brat is really trying to fool me.. And to think he received a reward for killing those 3 Level 5 Creatures from me" The Lord started to fume, actually believing Lucias's words.

"My Lord. Even if he did lie and tricked everybody, the brat still has some skills. We can't just throw any average attack at him" Lucias smiled.

"What do you have in mind?"

"Ok, this is my humble suggestion. My lord" Lucias had a sinister smile on his face. He was going to deal with both Link and the annoying girl that was the main cause to everything. Lucias knew that Link most likely did that to help her for some reason, but he failed to figure out why. But that mattered not, as he was one to hold a grudge for a long time until he paid that person back fully, and now was his chance.
