Emergency!

"Stay back, link" yelled Rao, he was nervous.

One hell bear was already the worst case scenario, but now two showed up.

Link was not scared. Since his practice was bearing results, he never used the LP points he got from leveling up, keeping them for emergencies.

"Damn it" said link, adding all his points to INT.

Link was flowing with mana. from training his skills, circulating mana and earning elemental points. gaining XP from rewards or titles, link reached level 9.

WOSH!

Link shot the arrow he had nocked at the injured hell bear.

Like the wind, the beast dodged the arrow like it was nothing, looking at Link with anger.

Link was worried, even with his large mana pool and elemental points, he had no skills other than the ones he gained by chance.

Seeing his son's expression, rao spoke.

"Link, just run. I can distract them until you get to safety. you have nothing to worry about, i'll be fine."

The tone of his voice, the look he gave link and moving to the side, standing between him and the beasts. Those were all of what link needed to focus again, he couldn't let anything happen to his father.

"The bear I hit is definitely hurt. no paw and the arrow to the stomach must have done some internal damage." link thought to himself "The other hell bear looks too fierce, but i bet he's here due to the other's call. are they male and female?"

Link looked at the newly arrived hell bear, he had his eyes on the other bear, its eyes slowly turning bright.

"Link, GO." rao yelled "They're gonna go berzerk any second now, we can't both die here. you have to take care of your sisters and your mother."

"What're you talking about dad? no one is dying here today." said link, staring at the distracted male hell bear.

"That thing dodged my arrow like it was nothing. even i barely saw it, i'm gonna have to get close and personal." thought link, putting the bow back on his back and grabbing the knife again.

Infusing mana into his body.

"Let's see how fast you really are." link muttered, before slowly and sneakily approaching the male hell bear.

It still had its eyes on his injured partner, and his partner was keeping her eyes on Rao. He was closer than link. to her, they were both equally dangerous.

Rao noticed link sneakily moving towards the beast, he wanted to yell at him but he would only put him in further danger if he did so. His only option was to distract them as best as he could.

Link was no ninja, though his small body and the mana enhancement allowed him to be nimble.

What seemed like minutes to both rao and link were only seconds in reality.

"I have to hurry, they're going to die." he mumbled to himself "Link is strong but i heard the second roar, they can't handle two of those things by themselves."

The one running through the forest and dodging trees with incredible speed and skill was samuel.

Now that he was out of his trance, his mind clear and focused. He managed to put some of his training into action, dodging all trees with impressive footwork.

It took him little time to see the edge of the village..

The familiar scene excited Samuel, after stepping into its ground, people started looking at him.

"A HELL BEAR, NO TWO HELL BEARS ARE IN THE OUTSKIRTS OF THE FOREST. WE WERE CORNERED, LINK AND RAO STAYED TO DISTRACT THEM. THEY NEED HELP PLEASE" he couldn't hold it in anymore, screaming at the top of his lungs.

"What? two hell bears?"

"So close to the village"

"Are they ok?"

The villagers started crowding and murmuring.

"Samuel, is it true? this better not be a joke or you'll work at the farm till you're an adult." a tall man approached samuels location, moving people to the side.

"DAD, PLEASE HELP THEM" samuel is only a fourteen year old kid, after going through all of that, he started crying, sobbing the last phrase out.

The villagers went into panic, a hell bear was a dangerous beast that hunters avoided, so many lives were lost to these creatures.

Samuels dad, Ranold. grabbed Samuel, trying to calm him down while some people ran to get help.

There were 7 hunters in the village last year, but now only 5 remain including rao.

They were very close friends. They hunt together, share their game equally and hang out after their long day.

Eddy was a tall but skinny man, he liked using throwing knives and very skilled with it, he was the best butcher.

Sal was a short but well built woman, her muscles made even some men envious. She was a woman but didn't act like one, she used water magic and a bow.

Gail is a giant of a man, nearly 8 feet tall with a body that would put some of the forest's beasts to shame. his arm is as thick as an average man. prefers to hunt using his hands, didn't manage to catch something good yet, but useful for carrying big game back to the village.

Robart is an average built man, 6 foot tall and bright green eyes. very popular with the ladies. likes to use a bow and is very skilled with earth magic, pinning enemies in the ground and shooting them with ease is his thing.

They were having some drinks in the village's tavern, when a man ran in.

"Eddy, Robart, Sal, Gail." he tried to yell but failed, wheezing "rao and his son link got attacked by two hell bears. they need help"

Before he could even lift himself up and look at them, they were already out of the door. Each running home, grabbing their equipment.

In a matter of seconds they were where Samuel was.

"Come on boy, lead us there." said Gail, lifting samuel like he was as light as a feather "Just point and i'll go"

"Ranold, try to get as many people as you can and follow our trail, two hell bears is too much." said Sal.

"Ok, we'll be right behind you" said ranold, grabbing a couple of men from the crowd, after some whispering they each separated in a different direction.
