Consequences..

Rao couldn't keep his eyes off of Link, ready to jump in if anything happens.

Link on the other hand, felt that something was off. They are magical beasts and the apex predators of this forest.

He couldn't understand how absent minded the male hell bear was.

Well, until he saw the disfigured beast grin from ear to ear.

It's face was not made to do that, so the visual was terrifying.

The monster's head was facing the injured hell bear, but now that link was close enough to see it properly. Its eyes were looking at him, from the side.

Link's heart felt like it was squeezed by an invisible force.

Fear..

He didn't feel like that for some time now, bringing back old memories.

A menacing and horrible sound came out of the bear. it sounded like something was being murdered.

"Is that... a laugh?" link thought, worsening the feeling in his heart.

The male hell bears' whole body turned towards Link, his claws already heading towards him. It all happened too quickly.

Link, or let's say red. didn't feel fear in a long time.

At first it was the steady mind skill that kept him in check, But after getting powerful enough to have nothing to worry about, he didn't need to fear anything.

But now, he was a thirteen year old kid, his powers gone and no skills to put his mana to good use.

As a muscle reaction, link closed his eyes. embracing himself for the inevitable.

Suddenly, he felt something shove him from his left side, sending him to the floor. Feeling something warm sprayed on him.

"Is this blood, am i going to die again." These were the thoughts that came to his head, slowly opening his eyes.

The hell bear stood, towering over him. licking his paws.

Blood was covering them.

"I didn't feel any pain, what is happening?" link thought, looking to the side.

An arm..

A severed arm...

Some brown cloth was barely wrapped around it.

The realization struck Link like a truck, sending his heart deeper in the hole it was already in..

"D... Dad?" link muttered. looking at the body that laid a few feet away from him.

Rao was breathing heavily. The pain was intense but he couldn't scream or move.

There were three deep openings going from his side to his hip.

A river of blood was gushing out of the spot where his left arm was supposed to be.

"I.... Tol...d You To G..oo ...

It's N..not your f....ault" these words broke Link even more.

"Again.. I caused it again." link muttered...

"Again .."

"All my fault..."

"Again.... Again.."

"No.. I didn't mean to..."

"If i left... he might have managed to leave the forest safely..."

Links mind was in a mess.

His heart falling more and more into the void...

The hell bear moved, crouching down and grabbing the severed arm from the ground.

Opening its mouth. The sea of sharp unorganized teeth about to greet its meal.

"LET IT GOO" link screamed, jumping from the ground, adding all the mana he could mindlessly to wherever he could, leaving a blur behind.

The creature wasn't paying attention to link, he saw all humans as food, unthreatened by his existence.. Making links attack a success.

The sharp knife cut the monster's throat, making it drop the arm and scream in pain.

It did not sound like a beast, more like a heavy piece of metal being dragged on the ground. It stepped back, grabbing its throat.

Link didn't stop, charging after it and swinging his knife blindly.

His mind was in turmoil, making his body act on its own.

CRUNCH...

The indescribable amount of pain woke link up from his craze.

The female hell bear came over, it had its mouth on Links arm, blood flowing from the sides of its mouth.

Like a dog, the beast started to rapidly swing its head from left to right while tightly squeezing on links arm..

Tearing flesh and breaking bones..

Link was 155 cm tall. while the hell bear beat him in height and build.

Like he weighed nothing, link was swinging with it. dislocating his shoulder and slowly losing the feeling in his arm...

After a while, the beast let go.. sending Link flying off, hitting the ground with a loud thud.

He landed not too far away from his father... moving his head and looking at him.

Link saw his father's chest slowly rising up and down.. but the blood was still dangerously flowing.

"He's still alive... I can save him" link muttered "I have to save him."

Links right arm was still there, but as useless as if it wasn't.

Link balanced his body on his left arm and slowly stood up... looking over at the monsters..

The male bear still had his throat cut, blood coming out slowly, but it didn't seem to be bothered..

Both beasts eyeing their two meals.

...

A group of five people was running through the forest.. the fifth one was a boy sitting on a giant man's shoulder.

"That way" the boy pointed "The clearing should be closed.."

This group of people with the worried and scared expressions were Eddy, Sal, Gail, Robart and samuel.

Whenever Sal passed by a tree she would swing her knife, leaving behind a cut.

Not too far away from them, another group of people was following their trail.. Some carried swords, some huge knives and others pitchforks and shovels.

Everyone was terrified, two hell bears were a catastrophe.

But they didn't stop thinking about their friend and his son.. Rao is a very generous and kind man, he shared his game with those unfortunate enough to not have any money left for food... helped pay the bandits for other villagers and was a charismatic man..

Some were even prepared to put their lives for him..

He fed their families when they starved, and some even survived because of him..

No man was left in the village... Even some tougher women joined.. they could never pay him back, and this was their chance.
