Zolis had gathered all of the citizens who had once served in the military. She was surprised to find that there were many retirees in their community.
With their assistance, a communication network was set up across the city. The method was primitive, but it worked.
Communication Officers were named and stationed at specific points across the city. There was one on each Archery Tower and one over each gate.
They would flash large color cards that could be seen from another Officer standing within the barrier. That Officer would use Larz's communication to send messages to the others that stood within the barrier.
It was crude but proved to be highly effective. Some of the older veterans who had seen battle also pointed out targets that Filthy's should focus on hitting.
