'Leaves moving around... Something slithering... A Hawk flapping its wings, or perhaps an Eagle... I can hear it all without even focusing. Amazing! I'll be able to notice attacks coming from behind. Survival is key. Still...'

Samael hesitated.

'Silent Movements and Sneak Attack should be a good combo. On the other hand, Hardened Scales should help a lot with survival. Heat Vision would help at night too... Wait, does night even fall here?'

'Guess that's how it is in a world with two suns... Silent Movements increases the chances of me NOT getting detected, while Hardened Scales increases my survival rate IF I get detected...'

The Venomous Snake thought for a bit longer.

'Does Sneak Attack give a bonus for damage inflicted by Venom?'

[It doesn't.]

'Then for now... 25% isn't that good. Biting did nothing against that Hawk. Venom was my only solution. For now, I'll go with Silent Movements and Hardened Scales.'

Instantly, the Venomous Snake's body started twitching.

The scales that covered its body started decaying.

Or at least, they seemed to.

'What is...? They're getting harder but... My movements are constricted-'

Samael realized.

The Venomous Snake moved forward while remaining hidden by the bush.

'Oh yeah...'

It was a pleasant sensation.

The Venomous Snake shed its skin, revealing tougher and sturdier scales.
