The Meeting

As we approached the mansion. I was filled with anticipation. The closer we got to the family home, the closer we got to my training arc. I had I few ideas that I wanted to test out, now that I had my parents' permission.

I was also looking forward to meeting the family. I tried to ask Dad for more information, but he wouldn't talk to me the whole flight.

When we got to Italy, I found out that the Vongola were just too outrageous. They own and run an entire city with the main mansion in the middle.

The city is filled with businesses owned by the Vongola. They have their own public services like police, firefighters, doctors, and other such services. They even have tourist attractions and their heroes.

I'm figuratively crying, thinking about how I missed my chance to be a young master. I could be asking people,'Do you know who my grandfather is?'

We finally get to the mansion. And it is huge. It was a place that advertised how rich they were. It had one of those things that the filthy rich had.

Where before you even see the house, you have to drive for like an hour through a well-kept forest, which is supposedly their front lawn. Giving you time to think about how pathetic your life is in comparison.

As we drive through the gates onto the pathway leading to the house, we see guards patrolling.

After driving for a while, I finally saw the shadow of the house or what I believed to be the house. For all I know, that could be the home of the family pet if they had one. You never know when dealing with the rich.

As we approached, we passed over a bridge with a tranquil and crystal clear lake with a variety of marine life in it.

I was mesmerised by the lake until I felt the car stop. I calmly got out and saw a towering mansion.

It was tall and wide, white and clear. It was meters long and wide. It looked great, decorated with trees and plant life.

We were taken to our rooms where we would be staying. Each room was basically a whole house. These guys are trying to pass off houses as rooms. Ugh, disgusting.

My parents and I put our stuff down and got ready to go meet my grandfather. I don't know why, but I worry for his health, I should probably go and make sure that he has written a will that includes EVERBODY just in case he forgot or was under some misunderstanding. I care for him so much.

We are in fount of two huge doors with some guards in a suit standing in front of it. I am so tired if I'm being honest. This house has no business being this big. I feel like I just walked a marathon.

The doors are opened, and we walk inside to a throne room. Yeah, a throne room. With guards in suits standing on either side of us. Damn it, we have to walk again.

We walk forward through an impressive row of guards, standing on either side of us. They seemed well-trained and ready for anything.

We reach the end of the room to meet an imposing old man with an intimidating aura sitting on a throne. He had aged white hair. Preicing cold eyes with crow's feet and a slightly wrinkled face with a judging expression. He was wearing a casual shirt and trousers but you could tell he was toned. A classic anime old man.

Behind him stood a person with black hair that had been aged grey. He looked to be around the same age as the old man. Also, well-built. He had a neutral expression and stood by the throne patiently wearing a black suit.

This was cool and all, but 'what's with this tense atmosphere' I thought

You would think we came to ask for his kidney or something. Dad didn't mention anything about this. All I'm saying is if things go sideways, I'm taking mum and running. It's Dad's family he should sort it out.

"Hello dad, surprised to see that you are still alive. I thought you would have kicked the bucket by now." My dad said cheerfully

'WHAT THE HELL!! How are you going to say that? Can you not read the room?' I thought screaming.

"Hello father, glad to see you are in good health." My mum also said respectfully

'Way to go, mum. I can always count on you. If only Dad could learn a thing or two from you.' I praised and grieved.

The old man hums in response. Then shifts his gaze to me.

I immediately cuteness mode. I slowly stepped forward with a bit of fake hesitation as though I was nervous.

"Hello grandfather, I'm Dante D. Vongola. It's a pleasure to finally meet you. I have heard a lot about you. I hope you are in good health." I say very respectfully while looking at the floor, but shyly sneaking glances at him.

Damn. Beautifully executed if I do say so myself.

Everyone was stunned, I believe. I heard a little chuckle from my parents who knew for a fact I was faking it.

"Oh." He let out.

"So, you are the kid you can't even use his quirk?" He wondered with a voice teeming with ridicule.

"Just give up." He ordered.

I was stunted. Of all the things I expected him to say. That was not one of them. It took me a while to process what he had just said.

'Oh. Okay.' I thought

All pretence stopped. I raised my head and faced his gaze. My eyes surveyed him. I came to an immediate decision.

'Not worth it.' I thought as I turned around and left.

No one said anything as I got to the door. The guards opened it for me, and I continued onwards.
