After digesting the information and re-organizing his thoughts, Liu Guanyi turned to look at the village head and broke the long silence.
"Really, that's really an interesting and incredible story, old man. I have personally studied about the history of the tower itself so I can say that your story is indeed quite believable. But believable doesn't really mean that it is truly correct, no?"
He let out a small sigh. "That's true, I know it's hard to ascertain my story since the history about that particular time was mostly erased by the Zahard Empire. I know you are smart, young man, so just tell what I have to do to prove that it's truly correct?"
Liu Guanyi smiled. "Isn't it simple, old man? Just hand me over your so-called record so I can make my own judgment after reading it."
"Alright, I'll show it to you." The village said as he stood up to get the ancient record.
After a few minutes, he was back with a few leather parchments that were rolled neatly in his hands and handed them to Liu Guanyi.
He opened one of them and spread it out on the table. The skin parchment did indeed look pretty old with a rugged appearance and as he touched it, he could feel its coarse surface.
Moreover, the smell it gave off was far different from both normal new pieces of leather and even-aged leather. Other people wouldn't be able to tell the difference in smell but his olfactory sense was much better than even the best smelling dog.
When he pinched the edge of the parchment, it held out pretty well and the place he had pinched could rebound back to its previous state, which meant that not only it was durable, but it was also quite elastic.
It seemed that the material to create the parchment was special and was chosen specifically with the idea in mind to keep whatever was written on top of it to be able to survive the passage of time.
He looked at the words and found himself unable to read them manually.
They were not written in Macsethian, the universal language that was the most widespread and used the most in the tower. Or in simple terms, it was basically the primary language in the tower.
The name was derived from the name of the greatest inventor and weapon craft smith, The Great Father Macseth, which was also the leader and founder of the Workshop.
He was also the one who invented the pockets, that super practical device able to translate every language and made its user able to understand it instantly as if it was their mother language.
Well, the way pockets worked actually was not as miraculous as that but still extremely amazing nonetheless.
Rather than translating every language and making it like the mother language of the user, it translated any other language into the Macsethian language instead.
Then, the pocket would make that Macsethian language to be wired and planted in the brain's cognitive and perceptive senses to make it feel as natural as possible and as easy as possible to be understood.
Hence, once anyone used a pocket, even though they hadn't mastered the Macsethian language before, they would be able to read, speak, and write in the language as fluently as someone who was born and grew up with the Macsethian language as their first language.
The translation from other languages to Macsethian was also extremely advanced and convenient as it can translate writings, recordings, and even direct speech. However, if the text or writings weren't in digital form, the pocket wouldn't be able to translate it immediately and automatically like digital texts on the internet.
Fortunately, the pocket could still translate any texts or writings from physical books and those that were carved on a rock, wall, and structure albeit manually with some effort.
So, Liu Guanyi changed his pocket from invisible to visible and held it in front of the parchment.
The pocket created a beeping sound as a red sensor light was projected from it onto the parchment.
The red light went over all of the texts and immediately turned off automatically afterward. Then, after a few seconds, the pocket projected a blue screen with the translation of the parchment in the Macsethian language.
Liu Guanyi read all of them quickly and did the same to the rest of the scroll parchments.
"It seems you didn't hide anything or lie at all, old man. What you were telling us was pretty much similar to what the record said with only small insignificant differences that could be attributed by reiterating the story with your own thoughts." Said Liu Guanyi.
"Also, these leather parchments are indeed really ancient, easily more than ten thousand years old. The special material used to make the leather parchments makes it possible for them to easily survive the passage of time." He added as he held the leather parchments.
"Thank god, you believe it." The village head said with relief.
"Don't get your heart to work so hard, old man. Just relax or you will get a heart attack. Like I said before, we are pretty reasonable and civilized people, much more than you can ever find in the Zahard Empire and the ten great families." Liu Guanyi said with a slight smile.
"I'll believe you. So, you won't do anything to this village or the people in this region despite knowing that our forefathers were FUG's allies and we are still keeping our identity?" The village head asked with a solemn tone.
"No, not at all." Said Liu Guanyi casually.
"Not even reporting to the Zahard Empire or the ten great families?"
"Of course not, old man. What would that do to her highness? It wouldn't benefit us at all!"
"Really? You promise that you wouldn't do anything as in anything bad or that will negatively affect the people of the Mirchea Region?"
"Naturally. It seems that in our brief meeting, you already have improved your speaking ability a little bit, old man."
"Well, you are a good speaker and teacher, young man."
"Glad that we seem to have a common ground then." Liu Guanyi said casually before turning more serious. "In fact, I have some proposition that will help and benefit both of us, wanna hear it, old man?"
