Dissatisfaction

If she were not jumped into this timeline again, Kai would never choose a faction. But right now it is different. With the memories from the future, Kai knew the best which faction to choose.

In the first place, because she doesn't know which faction is safe, she didn't choose one.

"Eh? You're joining in a faction, Kai?! What a miracle!" Her friend, Nicole Anne Gonzales, happily jumps and gave her a big hug.

She was a person who always supports her friends' decision. But if she knows it is wrong, she will straightforwardly remind you of your own decisions and look back if it is right or wrong. She will point out of all mistakes whether you like it or not.

"Miracle? It's good that I joined one. All neutral factions are being targeted nowadays"

"Neutral factions are gaining power a lot recently, of course, they are being targeted. It's a good choice you joined a faction"

Nicole took the pen off of Kai's hand. She pulls herself closer to Kai, leaving only an inch apart.

"Kai, what's in your head? The way you act today... is not you..." Nicole stared at her eyes who is also calmly staring at her. "I've been with you for a year. Don't underestimate me, Kai"

Kai blankly stares at her. She then closed her notebook and looks back at her with a carefree look. "What's wrong with your brain? Don't tell me you have eaten too much that it causes problems inside of tiny brain of yours?"

"..."

"Can't deny? That's why you're an idiot"

"Shut up, you are definitely you. I was only joking and yet you took it seriously" Nicole distanced herself from Kai. She looks at her with a troublesome look, "From the looks of it, you have a problem"

"..."

"What's with that quiet stare?! Kai! Is there a problem?! I'll get rid it for you! With me here, I'll be able to protect you--!"

A pen was pointed in her throat, stopping her from talking. Nicole looks at her right hand which was holding the pen and saw it was gone. She can only see Kai looking at her annoyingly.

"Stop shouting. It's noisy" 

"Yes, ma'am" Nicole voice softened. Their relationship is quite unique. She, a daughter of a duke, and her, a daughter of a baron, have a reverse relationship. To think she is willing enough to lower for her...

Kai opens her another notebook and started taking down notes from the last subject. She took a glance at Nicole who was desperately asking for her attention. She sighs. "Do you know people started to make us as a couple?"

"Eh? What are you saying, Kai?" Nicole tilted her head. She's speaking nonsense.

"Thanks to you, everyone sees us as a lover"

"..."

What?

Kai looks at the shocked Nicole. She sighs. It's all because of her actions. She likes to act like a boy courting a girl when she's with her. People started to doubt if Nicole likes girls and instead of boys. No one has ever seen Nicole with boys except with her family. Plus, she's always with her, acting like a boy in love.

"It's all your fault in the begin with"

"So is that your worry?"

Kai broke her pen and stared at her. Anyone could tell that she's quite annoyed at her. "Nicole, do you have any good jokes?"

"Ahahaha...." Nicole wryly smiles. "I know, it's a bad joke. What's your problem anyway?"

"I met my fiance"

"Oh? You've finally you're fiance... You're meeting is quite late. I met my fiance a year ago and he's not satisfied with me"

The engagement between nobles was decided at the age of 5. But it will only be officially announced at teenage years. Kai's age should be considered as late.

"Who is your fiance?" Nicole said with a hint of displeasure. To cause a problem for her friend... how irritating! She could tell that her friend is dissatisfied on him.

"Giovanni Crono" 

Eh... Giovanni... Crono...?

Nicole looks at her dear friend with shock on her face. Girl, this is the Giovanni Crono whom we are talking about! He's the vice-president of the student council, one of the top students, and an entourage of his highness, the second prince!

"Kai, is there something wrong in your head? Or should I let you know how important he is?" Nicole retained her composure after the shocking reveal of her fiance. She stopped her joking attitude and start acting more seriously.

"There's nothing wrong with my head and neither you should let me know how important he is cause I already know"

"Then what are you dissatisfied for? He's a good man" with wealth, prestige, and fame, what else could you ask for?

"And that's why I am dissatisfied for. The higher the reach, the more dangerous it is. It's better to be low-key than to be exposed to all dangers. Moreover, he is dissatisfied with me and I met him completely unannounced. I'm quite dissatisfied both of my fiance and my parents"

"Oh... to think he dared to be dissatisfied with you?! How daring! Anyone who is engaged with you should be considered lucky!"

"I'm a baron's daughter" Kai warned her status. Unlike him, who is in the top, she is the one who is at the bottom of the nobility.

Her father was once a commoner that became a noble because of his achievement compared to the deep-rooted family of his, hers pales in comparison.

Yet in Nicole's perspective, she hates anyone who dared to be dissatisfied with Kai especially not knowing her. If Kai is dissatisfied with someone, she knows she has a reasonable reason.

If she were a boy, she will definitely court Kai no matter what! Heck, she'll even use her status just to get engaged with her!

Only if she were a boy, okay?

"I'm extremely dissatisfied with your fiance" Just knowing that stupid and idiot Giovanni is dissatisfied with her, Nicole wants to punch that guy and point where is he dissatisfied with her.

Kai looks at her young friend who is angry and dissatisfied with her fiance. She changes side so easily like a kid. She let out a smile. No matter how many times it has been, just being at her side made her relax.
