General lessons

Two days later.

Since the day Jayce came out of his room, no one, absolutely no one, ever asked him anything regarding his decision or brought up the candidate announcement. He felt relieved because of this, but at the same time, he also felt it might only be temporary, and it might end up being a snowball effect in the long run.

After all, it's something that concerns the entire family and others will not be able to shrug it off like his own family members.

Those two days, Jayce spent most of his time with his family. They all suddenly seemed to be free at all times. Even his grandfather and father, who are usually busy.

'It's as if they all lost their jobs in a recession yet are able to get huge compensation from their companies.'

It's what Jayce thought to himself. He, along with his cousin Joey, managed to go to that circus which was mentioned by her in the letter. Surely, it was Joey who compelled him to get permission by playing the excited child card. They actually wore disguises even though most ordinary people wouldn't know them.

Sera and Samantha sent a dozen protectors along with them. And that is only the numbers they revealed. There is a possibility that a Grandmaster level veteran might have been watching over them as well.

The news of the candidate announcement will not be made publicly available until the first competition timing is settled, which means, other than the graded families, none of the others will know of it until then. And no one is allowed to divulge that info to others who don't know about it. If they do, it will be considered challenging the authority of the Human Federation.

So, forget about graded families. Not even the paragon family members would dare to reveal this to anyone.

While Jayce was enjoying his time with his family, the higher ups of the family were also discussing the training regime for Jayce and about resource allocation.

In a throne room, over a dozen people sat in two rows facing each other. It's the main hall of the Roderick mansion that is used for discussions regarding the family.

The room itself was a symphony of opulence and grandeur. Rich tapestries, woven with threads of spun gold, adorned the walls, while the ceilings soared overhead, painted with celestial scenes that seemed to whisper secrets of the cosmos. Gilded candelabras bathed the room in a soft, flickering light, casting shadows that danced across the marble floors.

Stepping across the threshold into the throne room, one's gaze will be immediately drawn to the majestic centerpiece of the chamber: the throne, an imposing structure of polished ebony and gold.

Seating for the courtiers and nobles who gathered in attendance was arranged in meticulous rows, each chair a masterpiece of craftsmanship.

In this chamber, where the echoes of history reverberated with every whispered word, the fate of kingdoms hung in the balance, and the weight of the crown lay heavy upon the brow of the monarch who sat upon the throne. And that monarch is not other than Clara.

"I say we start his apprentice training right away after he finishes his general studies."

Clara's voice reverberated throughout the room.

None of them retorted. Everyone in the room knew it wasn't an opinion but an announcement. Everyone nodded their heads in unison.

"Well, it's not like there's an option. We have to start his training as soon as possible."

"Yeah, the training regime and guidance should be superior as well."

"Agree, then we should decide on the people who shall be training him."

Everyone said something, not because they had something to say, but rather just enough to announce their presence.

"No hurry. We shall decide on the mentor after he decides what path he wishes to take."

Taylor intervened.

"But.. you mean, we are going to let him decide on his own? Wouldn't it be better if we d-"

Before he could finish the sentence, Taylor cut him off.

"He shall decide for himself. He's not like other kids who need to be influenced in order to provide them with the best choice."

Hearing his statement, everyone went silent for a while. Different kinds of thoughts and opinions were going on in their minds, but they dared not retort as they were in the presence of Clara.

Many people even tend to think of Taylor as a failure of a man or even a gigolo , though Taylor is a King ranked expert. If not for his wife Clara, a Monarch, he wouldn't have this kind of authority within the family.

Alas, if they knew about Taylor's true power, those people who call him names would go on their knees and worship him. This is how this world is. These are the kind of people who are abundant here.

"Fine, let it be like this then. The general lessons shall be taught to him by mage Lia, and after he chooses his path, we shall decide on the mentor."

Everyone nodded their heads in acceptance. Mage Lia is an old friend of Clara, a powerful mage. This is also a kind of influence to let Jayce be more interested in magic. This is what they wanted to do, to influence him to this, but Clara did it in a more subtle way.

"Next, we shall discuss recent events and fund allocation."

The room chilled as Clara's words resounded. Many people's faces darkened.

For the next few months to atmost a few years, Jayce will be taught the general studies such as Mathematics; Social science- Geography, Politics, economics; Science - Biology, Botany and Literature.

But he will only be taught to intermediate levels of the syllabus. That is why it's called general studies. Normally, kids from graded families will go through this education from age 5 to 10.

After that, they will become an apprentice to try breaking through to the 'knowing barrier' and achieve the 'Ethereal body' in order to become an Elite, and it will take about three to five years. Three is considered a genius level talent and five is considered an above average talent. After that, they are all considered average.

In those years of education, they will also be taught about the basics of the paths they could choose to become an awakener.

Typically the children from the graded families tend to choose the paths that are reputed in their families. Either because of the influence from their families directly or indirectly.

One can choose one path or atmost two paths among three that exists. When choosing two, One path will be considered mainstream and other will be secondary. There are also people who have choosen them equal priority as well.

Those three paths include Mages, Martial artists and Weapon wielders or Knights.
