CH9: Welcome to Tiger City

Dawn came to the camp but the thirteenth and fifth squads were still not done fixing the camp, last night's battle destroyed not just the lake but also the trees in the forest.

''Yue you better come out there!'' Gilbert stood near the lake he could sense Ethan's presence near the surface.

Splash!!

''Is the battle over?'' Ethan poked his head out of the lake and asked.

''The battle ended last night so stop hiding there and help us!'' Gilbert waved his hand and the water suddenly rose throwing Ethan on the ground.

''Cough!...can you not throw me like that''

''Heh.. stand up you've been hiding in the lake last night, now you have to help us with those golden sand worms'' he said while dragging Ethan towards the pile of dead golden sandworms.

''Oh by the way thanks for the water bead if it weren't for you lending it to me I wouldn't dare hide deep in the lake''

Water bead is a treasure used to breath underwater and is a common item for beast hunters.

They finally arrived in front of the golden sandworm's corpse and Ethan began to dismember every single one of them.

A couple of hours passed and Ethan heard Meo's voice inside the golden sandworm's body it seemed like she was commanding everyone.

''Yue come out to let's eat before continuing our clean up''

''Yes, sir Gilbert!'' Ethan suddenly rushed his movements finishing the golden sand worm that his dismembering.

''Oh and take a bath first!'' standing up Ethan heard the shouts of the soldiers of the thirteenth squad telling him to take a bath.

''Okay I'll take a bath geez!'' laughter comes after it since Ethan became close to the soldiers of the thirteen squad they would tease each other or even joke around.

While eating everyone started to chat telling many stories about their adventure and things which they experienced.

''Yue what did you do last night?'' one of the soldiers asked.

''I was hiding in the lake, weren't you guys the one that suggested it?''Ethan said while munching a large piece of meat.

''You didn't come out...not even for a second?'' another soldier asked.

''Of course, I didn't... I could be killed just by the shockwaves brought by the battle''

Gulp!

''That's enough let's just eat right Yue'' Gordon raised his glass and drank the fine wine in it.

''Hehehehehe.. right let's eat everyone!'' Ethan also raised his glass and drank everything.

''Yes let's eat everyone!''

''Hey give me another glass of beer''

''Hey give me some too!''

The atmosphere around them became even warm as laughter and smiles could be heard.

''It seems you are enjoying your breakfast'' Meo suddenly appears beside Ethan holding a glass of beer.

Ethan looked at her and bowed slightly then he returned his attention to his food the thirteenth squad also showed their respect towards her and they didn't dare to neglect her.

''The fifth squad should be eating inside that large tent did she lose her way and end up here'' Ethan thought as he continued to eat.

The meal ended and everyone returned to their unfinished work.

''What did you really do last night?'' this time it was Gordon who asked while Gilbert was in front of Ethan.

''I only did what I had to do'' Ethan said while looking at Gilbert who was holding a poison arrow which he used to kill those golden sandworms.

''You really are mysterious. '' Gilbert hid the arrow then slightly moved his head behind thinking ''Now your question has been answered'' Then the three of them started to return to work.

Hiding behind a tree a beautiful woman was standing, hiding her presence she gently looked at a stone and muttered ''He's telling the truth..so he helps us because he has to?''

''Miss Meo we searched the entire forest but we couldn't find any trace of them'' Wielder appeared reporting about their mission.

The truth is after recovering a third of their strength they tried to search for the enemy's whereabouts but sadly they couldn't find anything.

''Forget it we won't be their match even if we find them, getting their hands on that orb will surely boost their strength''

''Are you sure this will greatly affect our squad's reputation and worst we will be punished''

''It'll be fine I will personally report this to the president'' Having said this Meo took a glance at the boy who was currently covered with blood meticulously dismembering the dead worms.

Their travel became peaceful after the encounter with the black soul clan. Ethan on the other hand would train hard with the thirteenth squad and would even guard with them when the beast attacked their camp few days past Ethan broke through Human level.

''Congratulations Yue now you should choose a suitable technique to use'' Gordon said while searching through his belongings looking for a technique fitted for Ethan.

''Maybe you should look around Tiger City since will be arriving at dusk...I think you'll be able to find a suitable one there'' Gilbert said looking at the mess in Gordon's tent he's been searching for a flame technique for Ethan but all he saw were tea sets and armors.

''Yeah maybe it's better in the city'' Gordon finally gave up searching around his stuff since he wasn't successful.

''Yeah I will but I think we should first clean this up'' Ethan scratches the back of his head looking at all the tea set and armors Gordon has

The three look at each other and suddenly laugh ''Yeah let's clean'' Gordon claps his hands activating his storage ring.

At dusk, a lively city welcomes the fifth squad and thirteen squad walking for a while they arrive at a large manor thats where there going to stay.

''Yue join us!'' a group of earth-level cultivators asked Ethan to join them as they were planning to go to a pub.

''Sorry I'll pass I still need to look for suitable techniques since I advance to the Human level''

''Okay if you were able to find one look for us at the sunshine pub we'll be waiting'' Waving his hand their group disappeared into the night.

Walking to the other side of the city Ethan thought about the Black Raven ruins he had to explore.

''I wonder why I have to go there''

Haze looks at the sky feeling melancholy while his entire body soaked at the restoration pool.

''Yan would definitely be mad at us Kaleb, Light...we all end up fighting and forgetting who we used to be to each other'' Haze thought while the hole in his chest slowly healed which brought pain to him.

Then he suddenly thought about Ethan his student who has nothing because his vital essence qi is sealed.

''It'll be best if he could reach Human level before going to the ruins his success will be higher'' he said after sighing he felt nervous thinking about him.

''Are you feeling better?'' Kai and Winter appear from the sky and slowly land beside him.

''I'm feeling better but it still hurts and some of my wounds have healed now'' he smiled as he answered the two.

Winter and Kai were silent for a bit not knowing what to tell him.

''You can say what's on your mind I won't be mad'' he said feeling that something was surely bothering them.

''Actually, there are two things that are bothering us''

''What is it then?''

Before answering they both look at each other they seem to be arguing about who's going to continue.

''These two haven't changed a bit'' Haze thought while observing the two then Kai looked at Haze and asked him.

''The first one is about the heir...the grandson of the King of the Moon fairies''

''And the second one is?'' Haze said this time Winter was the one who continued the question.

''The second it's about the so-called seal of the gods....and the details on how it ended up to you'' Winter said but he looked like there were a ton of questions he liked to ask.

''Tell us everything please we need to report this to everyone so we can make a plan immediately'' Kai looked determined as he said those words.

''No need to worry I'll be the one to explain everything.... tomorrow we'll go to the Alliance's headquarters so that everything will be answered'' Haze reassured the two knowing how worried they were about the situation.

''Are you sure you'll be alright tomorrow?'' Kai asked again.

''Yes I will be...now you two should rest as well since there are many spare rooms here Kun won't be mad if you take them''

Winter and Kai nod their heads and leave Haze alone so that he can fully restore his strength.

''Now should I give my next order''

Haze flicked his finger and a huge green-clawed falcon went towards him it slowly turned small and landed in his arms.

''Go to my student's whereabouts and deliver this message to him'' he then let it fly to the sky hoping it could get to him peacefully.
