CH10:The Black Raven ruins

Walking outside the city Ethan ventured deep into the forest after a while he saw a group of cultivators they seemed to be hunting for a beast.

This group of cultivators only has three two stars of Earth level and a guy who is one star of Human level.

''Who's there show yourself!'' the guy with spiky hair said.

''Sorry to interrupt your hunt I was only here to search for herbs when I heard some noise, I was curious so I just came here to take a look''Ethan revealed himself and started to explain.

''Herbs?...do you mean black feather lotus'' a girl with blonde hair said.

''Yes, black feather lotus... I'm not familiar with this forest do you know where to find them?'' Ethan asked since its he's first coming to this forest he wanted to know more about the place.

''If I were you I wouldn't dare to go there the black feather lotus are located at the cliff near the forbidden ruins no one comes back after going there'' the thin guy with a long sword said.

''It's the same info I got from the guys at the gate'' Ethan thought he thanked them for telling him this information and continued to walk towards the ruins but suddenly something pulled him he looked behind and saw the spiky-haired guy holding his red scarf.

''You really want to go there?'' pulling Ethan he asked.

''Nikias what are you doing!'' the thin man was surprised by his friend's sudden action.

''Niki let him go what are you doing'' The blonde girl also said she was worried that his action would cause some misunderstanding.

The guy named Nikias ignores them his focus only remains on Ethan.

Lifting Ethan he looks into his eyes asking

''Boy if you really want to die why don't you just join us''

Confused Ethan didn't know how to answer even his teammates were also confused.

Nikias snort and drop Ethan on the ground feeling the hard ground Ethan couldn't help but touch his sore butt he look up it was only a glimpse but Ethan saw sadness in his eyes.

''Boy are you being forced to fetch those lotus do you need help?'' he asked again.

This time Ethan really saw sorrow in his eyes he stood up and said ''Sir no one's forcing me to go there it is my own decision''

''Boy are you sure'' This time it was a brawny guy who asked.

''Yes I am thank you for your concern'' Ethan bowed slightly and turned to walk again.

Nikias was about to stop him again but was stopped by the thin man.

''I think you did enough'' he said and gently tapped his friend's shoulder.

''Does he remind you of your little brother'' the blonde girl said.

''Yeah he does Mila'' Nikias said while watching Ethan disappear.

A few minutes pass a group of beasts block his path.

''Saber wolves'' he identified them while taking out his weapon.

Roar!

The saber wolves dash towards him bearing their sharp fangs they try to bite Ethan.

Ethan took out a golden dagger he injected his vital essence qi and it suddenly transformed into a bow.

Whoosh!

Three saber wolves fall on the ground Ethan then jumps to a nearby branch and shoots the others but their numbers are higher than Ethan expected one of them is able to get close to him.

Hum!

The weapon in his hand changed again and turned to a sword he swung it killing the beast instantly.

HOWL!

More wolves are coming Ethan couldn't help but smile bitterly but he didn't retreat instead he moved forward killing everything that hindered his path.

Hum!

His bow turns into a spear he jumps high and throws it to a saber wolf with his current physique the spear goes through the wolf killing the two wolves behind it. Ethan then lands beside his spear pulling it away from the bodies and it changes again to a bow shooting the enemies who are still far from him.

''Behind me'' he senses the danger and his bow changes into a sword beheading the sneaky enemy behind him.

''Haha...ha.. that should be enough'' Ethan breathed deeply filling his lungs with air then he took out his ring to store the meat he might need if he felt hungry.

Holding the map Ethan travels the rest of the forest until he arrives in front of a large pillar.

''This should be the entrance to the ruins'' he looked cautiously at the pile of rocks and fallen debris ''Just what kind of disaster happened here?''

Defensive array sphere formation scattered around the entrance but strangely none of them activate. Ethan even tried to trigger some of them but not a single one activated.

''Strange all the Array formations here are functioning why are none of them activating?''

Ethan was confused he had read many books and studied array sphere formation he knew the laws to make them that's why he knew that they should be working fine.

''This looks like a temple of some sort of God...wait black Raven I think I've heard of it before''

Searching his memory he remembered the story he heard from an old lady back in his homeland.

If he recalls the black Raven represents the God of chaos one of the oldest gods that ever existed.

Legend says that the God of Chaos once plunged humanity into war with each other painting the sky red making the ground smell rotten, and transforming into a black Raven the God of Chaos would often cause conflict and war in every place he went.

''Should I go back it's too dangerous here'' Turning back Ethan plans to pick some black feather lotus which is perfect for solidifying the realms of cultivator.

''I better make a careful plan to venture inside of this temple'' Ethan thought but suddenly a strong suction pulled him inside the temple.

''Wah!'' Ethan tries his best but his efforts are futile he was sucked in and lost consciousness.

Moments later he slowly regained his consciousness as he slowly felt the ground.

Opening his eyes a large mural appears before him. He stood up and began to dust himself from the dirt he got from lying on the ground.

''What the heck is this?'' Ethan took a step forward to take a closer look.

The mural depicted a large war it seems a war between Gods. Three gods fighting a single God while the world started to crumble.

''This is the black Raven'' Ethan pointed to the image of a black flaming Raven he then shifted his eyes to another image.

''A red Qilin and a white Phoenix.... wait the old lady told me the Qilin is the God of life while the Phoenix was the God of peace'' These three Gods are Fighting against a single God.

''Wait this are!?..'' Ethan starts palpitating this God in the mural has an army of beast the same beast Ethan saw the night of his brother and mother's death.

Ethan looked even closer he saw the three gods winning against the God with some strange beast army but it seemed like the Three Gods received some serious damage and went to slumber.

''This is what happened thousands of years ago and it will happen again in the future''

A voice sounded in Ethan's ears he looked behind but saw nothing.

''Who's there?..who are you?'' Ethan shouted.

''I'm the owner of this temple I'm am Chaos''

Black flames started to appear beneath Ethan's feet until the entire floor turned black because of the flame. Alarmed Ethan ran through the hallway looking for a way out but no matter where he ran black flames would follow him blocking his path.

Running for several minutes he arrived at a large room Ethan was shocked to see runes printed on the walls.

''Five Chaotic flame technique'' Ethan read the runes printed on the walls.

''This is my inheritance why don't you take it'' Chaos appear in the form of black smoke telling Ethan to learn his technique.

''Why should I take it?''

''Hehehe are you afraid that I might do something to you fear not because you are her descendant and I'm only here to help you out''

Ethan kept silent he was thinking of ways to avoid this God who always caused wars wherever he went.

''Aren't you curious who the man was?... Take my power and you'll know the answer'' Chaos said as he transformed into a small black Raven.

''I can guarantee that you'll know everything'' he added

''Why do I need to take you're power just to know the truth I think I can do it without your help''Ethan said.

''Because you won't be able to change anything with just one inheritance even if you discover the truth your power is too weak to do anything''

Ethan felt a sudden sadness he remembered the time that he couldn't do anything he was too weak to help he didn't want to experience it again.

''Boy I'm only famous for causing trouble not making schemes''

''Heh I know'' Ethan looks Chaos this time his eyes look determined.

''Okay I accept your inheritance'' he said as he looked at Chaos.
