World 1: Chapter 3

A tall man stood firm and serious outside the double doors, wearing his suit with grace and dignity that rivaled Xiu Baiye himself. His hair was fluffy and looked quite messy, but it matched his confident demeanor. Standing at almost 6 foot 2, he seemed like a guy pulled straight from someone's questionable dreams.

His eyes lit up subtlety when the two people walked outside, bowing at ninety degrees. "Good morning, Young master Xiu."

Xiu Baiye chucked and gently ruffled his hair. "You don't have to do that anymore, Luohai. I made it clear to everyone else that you were special to me."

[Congratulations! Host's acting is immaculate! 10 coins have been rewarded! Keep up the good work!] This new voice was chirpier and more irritating than his system's.

He continued to talk, acting as if he didn't hear the voice like the people around him. "Come, let us have breakfast." He took Xing Luohai by the arm and dragged him past the bodyguards watching them in jealousy.

Once they left the property and the gates clanked to a close, his bodyguard's face broke into a grin hugged him tightly. "How was your morning, Baiye?"

-What's with this golden retriever? Are you sure this is my bodyguard?

His system's robotic voice answered, its tail twitching inside the bag. [Yes. Please treat him well.]

Xiu Baiye sighs, and Xing Luohai's expression instantly hardened. "What's wrong? Did someone insult you again? I'll beat them up!" He clenches his fists, punching the air as a demonstration, which was stopped short by the transmigrator. "Don't worry, I'm just tired from waking up early."

"I see. Oh yeah, you're starting uni today," he bounced on his feet, "and I'm coming with you! As your loyal bodyguard, of course." He fixes his tie and straightens out his blazer.

Xiu Baiye was becoming frightened of this man's mood swings. "Yes, yes. But we're getting breakfast first. I'm starving."

"Yessir!"

They arrive at Nowhere Espresso, a cozy little restaurant by the university. It was owned by one of Xiu Baiye's family friend's parents, Ling Xiaoyi.

The door opens with a 'ding', and they are greeted by the scent of freshly-baked pastries and a loud shout.

"BRO! YOU'RE HERE!" At full speed, a young woman wearing an apron with flour all over it, carrying a tray of jam pastries, ran towards Xiu Baiye, who dodged the hug and reached for a pastry. "Hey."

Ling Xiaoyi swatted her friend's hand away, pouting as she holds the tray close to her chest. "Give me a hug first, or you're not getting any."

The young master glances at Xing Luohai helplessly, to which the bodyguard replies with, "Miss Xiaoyi, I can give him a hug for you, since you've got flour all over your clothes."

[Ding! Keyword 'hug' acquired! Generating mission...]

Xiu Baiye smacked his bag where he knew Anakas was laying.

-AGAIN??

Before the system could provide an explanation, a series of new messages interrupted him.
