"Hmm... This has to be the best gravy I have tasted in a long while," Ava said as she finished the last of her meal. She didn't realize how hungry she was until her food was brought before her.
Moving around the city sightseeing had worked up her appetite.
"I'm glad you enjoyed it," Mason said as a waitress came and cleared their table.
"I truly did. Thank you." Ava wanted to ask him why he was spending so much just so she could have a feel of the city. But she bit her tongue instead. Not that she was complaining, but the restaurant looked very pricey and she was sure it would cost almost all of her one month's worth of salary to have a meal here, if not more.
"You've worked really hard on this trip, you deserve some treat," Mason said as if reading her mind.
"Thank you," Ava said, feeling stupid that she allowed her thoughts to be evident on her face.
