Prologue 3.1

---10 Years later---

"Capt, since this is our last mission before we retired from The UNDF won't u give us parting gift??" (Jess)

"I already gave you guys each other what else do you want?" (Faust)

'I know you're just jealous Faust' (Angra)

'Shut up Gra don't attack me mentally through my head' (Faust)

'Alright, Mr.single forever don't be upset.' (Angra)

'Oi, I'm not dating because we don't want our secret going anywhere you know, it will be your problem too if we're found out.' (Faust)

'It's alright Mr.single don't find excuses and blame yourself, I know you better than yourself right now.' (Angra)

"Why are you so stingy capt, you'll be more unlucky you know if you don't be nice to others."(Jess)

"What should I do Alfred, your wife seems to be asking for a year of cleaning duty?"(Faust)

"Yes sir, I won't take part in this so you guys can talk it out yourselves" (Alfred)

"FRED WHY ARE YOU LIKE THIS? HELP ME HERE, DO U WANT TO SLEEP ON THE COUCH FOR A YEAR?" (Jess)

"....." (Alfred)

"Yes I think that a year of toilet duty is too much capt, and a little parting gift won't hurt right?"(Alfred)

Faust and his team already contributed so much to the organization and his team is approved to have their honorable discharge from the organization. The fight against the Voids has been in a stalemate for the last 10 years. Faust and his team played a big role all over the battlefield around the world with counter-attacking the Voids' ambushes. His team accomplished a lot and won many war.

Jess and Alfred are newlywed but haven't had their wedding ceremony yet because of their busy schedule. Now they want to settle down and live peacefully opening their own little shop in a small town somewhere far from the battlefield.

According to Faust, he doesn't want his secret with Angra to be known by others and that became the reason that he never opened up his heart to others and doesn't have any connection with people outside of work.

After 10 years of living together, experiencing fights, and problems every day. Faust and Angra already know each other like twins born at the same time. And Faust already trusted Angra to borrow his body every other day, to have fun. Angra controlling Faust's body doesn't have any effect unless he uses his demon powers. If so Faust's body will grow a pair of horns and thin scales all over his body, so as long as Angra kept his power, people won't notice any difference at least physically.

Faust also has adapted to his new body and power, he is now used to seeing souls wherever he goes. Once a month if possible he will be hunting down runaway criminals that committed a heavy crime and ate their souls.

And if necessary, when facing a dangerous situation that Faust is unable to deal with it alone, he switches with Angra and uses Angra's stronger demon powers to deal with the problem. But Angra has a short temper and a simple mind and sometimes, he's easily tricked by the enemy. So Faust only lets him out when he's sure that the enemies are not scheming anything or he doesn't have any other way out of his enemy.

For the last 10 years, Faust also hasn't met any humanoid Voids again after the incident in Berlin.

'I think it's a good thing that the humanoid Void doesn't appear anymore. Because I'm not sure the humans are able to deal with them and reach this stalemate if they participated in the war.'

'But aren't you curious that so far there's only one of them?' (Angra)

'It's useless even if I think about it right. I better focus on my team so that we can all live and retire happily.' (Faust)

'Oi, you're not really planning on retiring aren't you?' (Angra)

'Of course not dumbass, I want to hunt them on my own, It's a hassle to restrain our power all this time. I want to go all out, be free, and do what I want.' (Faust)

'And just maybe, we can also investigate about that humanoid Voids' (Faust)

"HELLO CAPTAIN, OLAA, HOIII !! If you don't want to give us parting gift at all it's okay, you don't need to have that absent-minded face" (Jess)

"I'm sorry Jess what are you saying?" (Faust)

"You are getting weirder and weirder capt, I think the frequency of you talking by yourself and spacing out becoming more and more frequent. What's wrong capt?" (Jess)

"It's nothing, I'm just thinking what to do after our retirement." (Faust)

"Alright team we have one more week until we're done here so let's go back to work" (Faust)

"You still didn't want to give us any gifts are you stingy capt." (Jess)

"Capt, can you please come to our formal wedding ceremony?" (Alfred)

"Of course Alfred, even if there's a tsunami or meteor shower I will still come to your wedding, and of course I will also bring my gifts." (Faust)

"Thank you capt," (Alfred)

Not far outside of the basecamp, Faust saw a little kid with worn-out and dirty clothes with disheveled hair, Faust came over and ask

"How is it kid? Did you find your home?" (Faust)

"You're right sir, there's no intact building left, my mom is not there either."

"See, I told you right. Now don't worry anymore and stop searching here, your mother must be worried and waiting for you somewhere else right now." (Faust)

"Thank your sir, I will go now, Meet you later kind sir!"

"Alright, be careful on your way then!"

'I don't understand, why are you helping those souls? You don't get anything and it's troublesome.' (Angra)

'Those lost souls are only the victim of these whole things, they don't deserve to die like that. And I want to help those souls so maybe, later on, I won't be placed in a bad place in hell. Maybe there's like a VIP section in hell for a good person like me.' (Faust)

'Why don't you just eat them Faust, Lingering souls that still have attachments are quite tasty you know.' (Angra)

'Pass. I don't want to be a glutton devil like you.'

Faust and his team are tasked to patrol the border area between the humans and the voids territory because they're nearing their retirement, The UNDF did not give them a dangerous mission and their everyday task right here is only to patrol around the border just in case there are any Voids invading in.

Because Faust was bored in the base camp, he decides to patrol alone at the edge of the border zone. With Angra's power, he felt safe if any mishap were to happen. Bringing his electromagnetic railgun and the standard equipment for void detection, Faust set out to the patrol area.

Dry and cracked earth is all over the land. The remains of the destroyed building scattered all around filling Faust's eyesight. But in his eyes, there's another thing that's bugging him. There are frequently souls wandering all around the wasteland.

The fight against the Voids is not without sacrifice. It costs lots of lives, buildings, and human civilization destroyed by their attacks. The view all around the border area is like this, with little to no changes happening every day.

Faust take a deep breath and wondered only if the year 2020 earth only has to deal with some kind of pandemic and not aliens, maybe the earth won't be this bad and certainly be more peaceful.

Faust strolled through the border and checked his void radar every once in a while, and using his binocular he looked for any invaders that might come.

"It's good that our last week here didn't have any major problems whatsoever."

'Faust, don't jinx it you might regret saying that earlier than you thought.'

'Why would I? This is not some shounen manga where...'

*beep* *beep* *beep*

'Holy mother of morning star. Godammit!'

'See what you did there?'

Suddenly the Voids' radar caught a sign of radiation from a team of voids from above. Ever since Faust's incident in Berlin, the radar has been upgraded to be more precise in locating the enemy.

"Basecamp, Report. My radar caught the signs of estimated 3 squads of Voids in the East side of the border, I will stay here and try to deal some damage before they landed."

"Copy that captain Faust, Please be careful and don't be reckless, if the situation is dangerous you are allowed to leave your post and wait for reinforcement."

Faust prepared his EMP bomb to trap the incoming Voids when they landed. He intended to deal with the 3 squads of Voids by himself because with Angra's power it is an easy thing to do.

Faust started to aim his railgun at the sky and spotted the incoming Voids. After merging with Angra, all of Faust's skills, reflexes, and body condition all went up by a notch. He can now more precisely predict the enemy's movement, the environmental condition such as wind, and the angle of shooting. And with his stronger sense, he can easily target enemies triple from his initial shooting range. And the electromagnetic railgun is the only weapon capable of accomodating Faust's new capabilities.

Not long after locking down on a Void still flying in the sky, he pulls the railgun's trigger and easily pierced a void's core from 15km away. This scene repeated a few times and Faust easily killed 5 of the incoming 15 Voids.

"There will be only 4/5 left when they reach the ground if this continues, I'm sorry Gra, I think today is not your day."

*boom*

When Faust is still aiming at the remaining Void, he suddenly heard a muffled explosion from the Voids' territory.

He put down his railgun and searched for the source of the explosion using his binocular.Shortly after, he spotted a black dot coming his way with an unbelievable speed. He focused his senses to see what is coming and he could see that it's a void...A Humanoid Void!"

"Gra! Gra! Did you see that? It's A Humanoid Void!"
