Let's Go Hunting! (1)

Time flew by, Angra and Faust are already 5 years old now, their bodies are already strong enough to walk and run especially Angra's, he is able to do acrobatics, jumping, cartwheeling, handstand you name it. And with their unordinary strength passive skill their strength is already way past 5 years old and more like 10 years old. Angra also often trains his fusion skill, trying to fuse with all the different elements to see the difference each element make when fusioning.

While Angra thrives in his body control and body enhancement, Faust also trained his magic. He is already proficient enough to pseudo-flying with his attributeless magic and a little help of wind magic.

Faust's and Angra's progress with the magic system so far went well. Faust can make a fire/water ball or make a small pitfall using earth magic.

But the most exciting thing he found so far is that his unique skill, Loved by Death proved to be very useful when he understands how to use it. By going near the Forest of Beast(with Angra far from him of course), Faust attracted many souls of the dead animals, from little birds to a large boar, they are somehow attracted to Faust.

He then makes a very crude ragdoll using earth magic to simultaneously train his proficiency in it and told one of the spirits to possess the ragdoll and he infused a little bit of his death mana to enable the ragdoll to move.

The ragdoll moved on its own. Faust then commanded the ragdoll to do all kinds of stuff, walking, digging, the ragdoll also able to hold and throw small rocks, when he told the ragdoll to move bigger rocks, the ragdoll tried, but to no avail. Only when Faust added more death mana that the ragdoll succeed.

To satisfy his curiosity, Faust tried to make a bigger ragdoll a quarter size of his body and told the spirit to move into the new body. To make the bigger ragdoll able to move, Faust needed to pour more death mana into the body.

This time, when Faust told the big ragdoll to move the bigger rock from before, it succeded easily. Faust concludes that having a better vessel can lessen the burden in his death mana and make his army stronger. He tried to give the ragdoll another attribute, but the tendency of death mana to eat other elements stopped Faust from making the ragdoll able to do shorrrryuken with his fist.

Faust also found out that even though the souls are afraid of Angra, the one who already submitted to him still followed Faust even when Angra is nearby.

'Gra, I think you should find out more about your unique skill, mine is actually quite amazing! I already found many ways to use mine. From making traps, scouting, even a way to help me fight directly!'

'I think mine won't be that versatile, but I will try it anyways.'

With Faust's encouragement, Angra also explored his unique skill. With the help of soul vision, Angra then searched for souls near the outskirts of the forest. He has to think of ways to consume the souls before they ran away from him.

So using his newfound knowledge, he infused wind attribute mana to his body to make his body lighter and faster. He then targetted the soul of a boar that is roaming around not too far from where he is.

Then he loaded his feet with mana, they exploded to dash into the soul's direction. When he is near the souls, he tried to release his death mana.

Perhaps because of the Death Mana Talent from his unique skill, he is able to easily control the mana from his body through his fingertips to influence the death mana to surround the soul.

The shocked soul wanted to run away, but the death mana enveloped him. Rather than submitting to him as his father and Faust told him. The soul screeched and become more transparent the more the death mana enveloped him and not too long after that, the soul disappeared and

Then Angra spent the rest of the day hunting harvesting spirits like a grim reaper hungry for souls to increase his attributes.

Next week, Mark finally fulfilled his promise to teach Faust and Angra how to hunt in the Forest of Beast. Seeing that his sons are already able to somehow protect themselves a little, gives them the qualification needed from Mark to fulfill his promise.

Since they only planned to hunt not too deep into the forest, Mark doesn't have to prepare much, he only needed to pack their lunch and bring some first aid just in case something happened. And the steel spear that he usually used for hunting.

They walked through the woods for about 15 minutes.

Mark looked at the ground and searched for animal tracks. When Mark wanted to follow the tracks Faust asked

"Dad, can I test my new ability here?"

"Sure, what is it?"

Faust then told the spirits following him to search in the direction where the animal footprints lead, and after a few minutes.

"Dad, I've found a deer 100 meters from here in the footprint's direction." (Faust)

'Damn these kids are capable, I don't think they need me at all for this' Mark thought to himself, then shaking his head to focus again.

"Alright let's proceed silently, especially when we're near the target, animals are sensitive to danger." (Mark)

They proceed to go in the direction that Faust's animal souls pointed. After walking for a while they finally see the deer. The deer was big enough that the kids are only as tall as half of its legs. And its antlers are even bigger than the magic boar's tusk.

"Alright kids, I will show you first how I did it, so you guys stay here, watch, pay attention and take notes."

They're about 15 meters away from the deer. Mark then circled the area to find a better angle to throw his spear. After positioning himself to the side of the deer, he then infused death attribute mana into his body to enhance his strength and add the death attribute to his spear.

Before he shoots his spear, mark makes a fire arrow in his other hand. He then releases the fire arrow at the deer.

The deer being a magic beast of course sensed that he is being targeted by magic. Seeing the fire arrow launched at him, he then dashed sideways to dodge it and prepared to counter the attack with his own magic.

But when he stepped sideways, Mark's spear is already in front of his eyes and without being able to react, the spear then pierced its head, and with the darkness attribute imbued to the spear eating his body from the inside, even a magic beast soon lost its vitality.

"Alright boys, that's how you do it, I mean I can just flick my finger and the deer's head will explode but it won't teach you anything right? So who wants to try next?"

Faust wanted to raise his hand, but unexpectedly Angra raise his first, so Faust has to wait. They put the dead deer on top of a tree and give a mark to the tree so they can later bring it back to town to sell or eat it themselves.

Mark then asked for Faust's help to search for another prey using his unique ability.

After a while, they found another prey, and this time its Angra's turn.

Mark told Angra to use the spear, but Angra refused and instead choose the knife Mark is carrying.

Angra still holds his firm belief that ranged weapons are coward hence his choice is the knife.

Angra circled the prey, this time the target is a magic boar.

'Be careful Gra'

'This should be easier than a void right?' (Angra)

Mark stands by close to them just in case something bad happened.

"Remember it is a magic beast, not a normal beast it can use magic and are sensitive to magic so be careful Aiden." (Mark)

Angra then tried to use his number 1 favorite trick in his book, which is engaging the enemy head-on as fast as he can to surprise the enemy.

He uses wind magic fusion to make him faster and lighter. He gathers his strength in his leg, get into a position then darted towards the boar.

His body flew fast toward the boar, he wanted to infuse the knife in his hand with death mana to render the boar incapable of moving, but when he is near the boar, it reacted to Angra's attempt to attack him by conjuring an earth wall making Angra's attack only chipped the earth wall.

'Damn I underestimated it.'

Angra then stepped backward to search for another opportunity, the boar didn't stand still as well, he conjured earth spikes at where Angra was standing, thanks to mana sense Angra can feel when mana gathers at his feet before they turn into earth spikes.

Angra dodged the earth spikes and the occasional charge of the boar. While searching for a gap in the boar's barrage of attack, Angra got an idea.

He grabbed the dirt under him then waited until the boar uses its charging attack. When the boar was charging at him, Angra infuses the dirt with wind magic then aimed at the boar's eyes.

The boar was shocked and his eyes are hindered by the dirt thrown by Angra that is infused with wind magic, making it unavoidable for the boar. The boar then conjured earth wall to prevent Angra from attacking it when its eyes are unusable.

It tried to search for the person who attacked him. But he can't find the attacker wherever he looked, then he felt something coming from above, but before he realizes that it is his attacker who is coming, it's too late, Angra's knife infused with death mana already pierced through the boar's skull.
