The Whereabouts of the Book

"Where is that book?" Martha looked at her brother, who knew about the book because, when she came home, she couldn't find it anywhere.

"I made a great trade with it; look at what I exchanged for that book." Nathan looked at his sister and showed her a pair of gloves signed by an old fighter.

"What have you done?!" Martha couldn't believe it.

"I traded it; don't panic. If you want it back, go talk to Danny and tell him to sell it to you."

"Does he have it?"

...

Bridget returned home casually and suddenly heard music inside, so she started to feel a little uneasy.

"What's wrong with me?" She had gotten used to the music her brother made, so she couldn't explain where this discomfort was coming from.

Her older brother Danny said his dream was to fill a stadium with his music, but that dream was actually a bit complicated to achieve realistically.

Thinking about how her mother reluctantly accepted and then provided the money, Bridget felt a surge of anger. They were in a complicated situation because they would move very soon and needed the money at all costs.

Bridget headed to the door, looked at the closed door, and kicked it open.

Kassie, her younger sister, was startled by the sudden door slam and wanted to go see what was happening, but fear made her stay seated where she was.

Later, she looked at her sister and let out a sigh of relief.

Hearing the loud music, Bridget frowned, looked around, and then, feeling a strange sensation, shouted, "Turn down the damn sound on that thing, Danny; my head hurts."

In an instant, the loud music stopped, and the whole space was rarely peaceful.

Confused, Danny took off his headphones and turned around, frowning when he saw his second sister still holding all the plugs in her hands.

"What are you doing?"

Bridget pointed with her hand at an open black book and asked, "What's that?"

"I got it; we can sell it because it's very old. I exchanged it with Martha's brother for boxing gloves, so it was a fair trade." Danny was happy because he had made a good deal.

Bridget shook her head and pointed at some video tapes. "So, what's that?"

Danny looked at the video tapes and said, "I found them downstairs; don't worry."

"These things could have a strange virus; throw them away as soon as possible, or I'll tell mom." Bridget didn't want to be involved with these things, so she went back to her room.

"Yes, I'll throw them away."

Unexpectedly, when Danny saw his sister alert, he started to flip through the black book and began to see all those torture drawings he had never seen in his life.

Some time later, it started to rain suddenly, and this rain flooded the whole city with huge puddles.

...

It was already night when suddenly Ellie, a single mother of three, heard a noise at the door, so she left what she was doing.

"You have the key; why don't you come in?" Ellie looked at her sister Beth, who had arrived the day before.

Looking at her sister, Beth asked, "You look terrible; did something happen?"

"My kids fought in the afternoon..."

...

In the dining room, everyone gathered.

Danny had an argument with his sister when she suddenly got angry because he didn't throw away that black book, as she had told him.

This angered Bridget, who wanted to do it herself, but this sparked a fight.

"Martha called me and said we should throw away that book."

"I already did." Danny said, looking at his sister.

Bridget shook her head and said, "You haven't."

Seeing that things were about to get out of control again, Ellie stood up and said, "If you're done with dinner, go to your rooms and sleep."

"Tomorrow will be another day; go rest." Beth supported this idea and dismissed her sister's children.
