She Ran Away Pt.2

Brae was so excited, her heart kept beating erratically.

She texted Pete when she neared the café.

"Almost there, did you order yet?"

Pete immediately texted back

"Yes, I ordered you iced tea"

If Brae stopped to think she would've realized how odd it was for Pete to be ordering a drink she used to drink back in MJ city.

However she walked out of the cab and paid the driver who had been secretly observing her.

Once she paid and got out he took his phone out.

"She is on her way, sir"

When she walked into the café she looked to the corner and didn't see Pete immediately.

"That's strange, he usually sits at that corner", Brae mumbled to herself.

She took her phone out again to text him but he messaged her first.

"I'm upstairs, second floor. Hurry"

Without a second thought she walked briskly up the stairs.

There didn't seem to be anyone upon first glance but then she saw the back of a man. Since there wasn't anyone else, Brae just thought Pete got a haircut since his hair was shorter.

She wanted to scare him so she snuck up from behind quietly.

As soon as she was a step away, she jumped in front of him with arms waving in the air, she knew she looked semi crazy.

"SURPRISE!", Brae whisper yelled. She was smiling because Pete almost always flinched. He never expects her to do this despite her continuous attempts.

The smile on her face gradually faded as terror crept into her heart. Jace was calming sitting in front of her, an evil glint in his eyes.

She immediately looked towards the exit and began to run.

But as she neared the stairs again, Brae saw armed guards walking up.

Finally, her legs gave out. She was beyond terrified.

Brae couldn't stop shaking on the floor.

"Grab her and tie her up, be gentle,", Jace said.

"she is going to be your mistress".

Brae slowly turned her head to Jace, " I would rather die than marry you".

Jace gave her a blank stare and then began to chuckle.

" I know. Which is why you won't be the one to die if you don't marry me".

"What are you talking about Jace!?"

"Oh you cared to remember my name, I'm flattered. You'll find out when we get back home."

Brae knew if she left with him now she'd never see the light of day again. Jace would also find out Sara helped her escape and she couldn't bring such misery into her friends life.

But what could she do?

There are guards everywhere and he most likely tightened security after her first successful escape.

"If you're thinking of that stupid friend of yours who helped you escape, don't bother. She'll have her turn."

Brae flinched when she heard Sara's name and for the first time that evening, she looked into his eyes.

" W-What will you do to her?", she asked.

" That depends on you", Jace replied with a cunning smile.

"Let's go, make sure to tie her up"

With that, he got up and turned to walk down the stairs.

The guards were struggling with how exactly to tie Brae up whilst simultaneously being gently without her cooperation.

She saw the worried looks as they stalked closer.

Brae sighed, got up and offered her hands to be tied.

She had no choice. Maybe four years ago she would have been dumb enough to struggle but she's experienced these situations already and she did not want to cause unnecessary havoc.

She walked out of the café with her hands tied up and surrounded by guards. There weren't that many people out this evening but those that were didn't hide the fact that they were staring. Some even whispering amongst themselves.

She saw the familiar car and got in.

Jace was already sitting in the back when she got in. Brae sat plastered to the opposite side of the car.

She heard noise on the other side but refused to acknowledge him. Then she sensed a presence nearing her.

Finally she turned and he was right beside her.

She turned her heads towards the window again, refusing to look at him.

She could hear Jace sigh heavily beside her.

"You know, you should be playing up to me right now. I could've had you more than a year ago".

Brae sat still. She wouldn't give him the satisfaction of a reaction. Besides, he could be bluffing.

"Well that's fine too. I just thought you cared about your dear Pete and that traitor Sara".

Upon the mention of her friends, Brae turned with a glare.

"What do you mean?", she hesitantly asked.
