Expedition [1]

Mason and Remi just got done eating.

"You'll be on guard for five hours first, I'll guard the place after." Remi said.

"We should both sleep, you need enough energy so this is the best way."

Mason looked at her questioningly.

'Didn't I say that I would guard, well if she insists there's nothing I can do.'

Remi then went inside the tent to sleep, while Mason stood outside and waited. It wasn't cold in the dungeon or anything which was good. He didn't want to freeze to death, even if he had Ice Affinity.

Mason knew he had to stay outside for a very long time, so he sat down at the entrance of the tent and started speaking to the System in his mind.

'System, show me my status.'

[Status]

[Name: Mason White]

[Level: 29]

[Physique: None]

[Affinities: Ice]

[Active Skills: Ice Bullet, Ice Wall, Freeze, Ice Domain, Ice Lance, Ice Wave, Ice Armour, Ice Golem, Ice Wind]

[Passive Skills: Beast-Hunter]

[Mana: 10 000/10 000]

[System Points: 11540]

Ice Wind was the new low-level spell Mason had learned. It was a cold wind that gave the targets a -10% in speed. Mason liked this spell, and he hoped he could improve it.

'11540 system points, it's finally time to get a Premium Spin.'

Mason had already checked out the Premium Spin. It seemed Epic wasn't the highest tier on this Wheel.

The Premium Wheel still had the normal Common, Rare and Epic. But now there was also an orange space that was Legendary.

Common had 75%, Rare had 18%, Epic had 7% and finally Legendary only had 2%.

There was 1 in 4 chances that he would get something better than Common, still not the best odds but Mason could live with them. He speculated that the rewards would be way better than the Normal Spin since it was much more expensive.

After a few minutes of mental preparation, Mason finally told the System to spin the wheel.

[Using Premium Spin.]

[Congratulations, Host! You got a Rare grade Space Affinity!]

Mason was shocked, he had heard from Remi before that Space Affinity was one of the rarest ones in the world.

He also knew that if used right, this element could dominate all the other ones. If you were good enough you could just bend space to make any attack disappear.

The only downside to the space element was that it would take centuries of Mana Practice to be good at.

This was why nobody ever got strong in the space element, only when you were older than level 100 would your life expectancy go up.

Level 100 Mages would usually live up to 200 years old, level 150 would reach 500 years old. There was also a rumour that level 200 Mages could live up to a millennium, but no one had ever reached that level.

For Mason though, this problem wasn't as big as the others. He could buy years of Mana Practice in the store, or get them from Spins. That's why he knew he had lucked out!

The night was still long and he didn't have anything to do so he decided he would practice the space element for the remainder of the night.

Thirty minutes in, he was almost giving up. This element was so hard to control, everything he tried failed. He still had four hours though, he wanted to learn at least one spell!

'If I don't learn this spell today, my surname isn't White!' Mason thought as he went all-out.

Four hours later a silver-haired kid could be seen laying on the ground in the middle of a dungeon, he was drenched in sweat.

The kid had a smile on his face, so wide that it could creep people out.

[Skill learned: Distortion of Space.]

[Distortion of Space: Distort space around the target to deal massive amounts of damage. The damage done ranges from 1000-10000 depending on how it's used. Defence of the target doesn't work. Skill can be levelled up.]

This was the end product of 4 hours of practice. Mason was happy, it could do 10 000 damage. Level and defence of the target didn't matter. If it hit the target, there would be destruction.

This skill was his second one that could be levelled, Ice Wind was the first.

The rest of his skills couldn't be levelled, but they could be upgraded. Mason's theory was that he could change Ice Wall into Ice Border, and he could turn Ice Wave into Ice Tsunami.

He didn't yet have the skill to do that, but he would work hard.

He stood up and entered the tent, he saw a beautiful girl laying down, sleeping. Instead of waking her immediately he first waited five minute while looking at her. This was kind of creepy, but who wouldn't?

After five minutes, he woke her up.

"Remi, wakey-wakey. It's your turn to guard now."

Remi opened her eyes as she saw a guy hanging over her.

"Okay, okay. I've slept enough anyways. Did anything show up yet?" She asked

"No, zero beasts have shown up. I guess the tent truly has magical abilities."

After that, Remi walked outside as Mason fell asleep instantly. He was truly tired after training for 4 hours straight.

----------------------------------------

It was the next morning.

Mason had woken up after Remi was shaking his body heavily, not the most pleasant way to wake up but at least she had a good laugh about it.

They packed their tents and everything again, they would be going into the dungeon even deeper. Mason told Remi he was confident in fighting level 20 beasts. She knew she could only fight level 18 beasts max.

They decided to go to the area where the level 17 beasts were. Once again, this was quite a far walk. They departed immediately after packing.

They didn't have a way to track their place on the leaderboards. Everything would be counted via the camera they always had on their body.

Mason knew they weren't first place though, they had been hunting in areas the other students could compete with.

Now they were going to the higher level areas, their points would skyrocket and Mason didn't question their first place if they hunted there for a couple of days.
