Chapter 07: Revenge [03]

Our strategy was successful. We obtained some important information and confirmed it. We also strengthened our minds for the future, but I wasn't happy with where we were going.

Anyway, after killing her, we're back in our room, waiting for daylight. While Luke was examining his sword, Jake was glancing out the window.

I'm not sure why Jake is acting this way.

I had a lot of questions about his changed behavior, but I kept them to myself. It is not the appropriate time.

The noise outside our rooms could be heard.

'They discovered the body?'

'They don't suspect us, do they?'

My mind began to race with ideas. Our current strategy was to pretend we had nothing to do with the murder. We even had stuff prepared to establish our innocence if they suspected us.

*Knock*

*Knock*

Somebody knocked on the door.

Jake went to open the door.

I looked as he opened it up a little to see who it was.

"Yes?" Jake asked.

"YOU WERE THE ONE WHO KILLED HER, RIGHT!?" Javier stormed into our room and shoved Jake to the right. Six of Jake's lackeys stood behind him.

He looked around the room and then at Luke, his face filled with rage. He grabbed his collar and slammed him to the ground.

"YOU!!!" I yelled as I made a fist with my palms and marched towards Javier.

One of Javier's lackeys peered at me as he approached Javier.

"F*CK OFF B*STARD!" He attempted to strike me in the face, but I simply blocked it by crossing my arms like a shield. I deduced from that punch that these lackeys were a little weaker than me.

"She was my wife... why?" JUST WHY DID YOU GO FOR HER!!" Javier yelled. He drew the greatsword from behind his back. It appeared to be so heavy that if he dropped it from a great height, it would most likely destroy the ancient floor.

Jake's Point of View

I began to analyze the situation in order to find a solution. Six stooges.

"Calm down, Javier. He and we have nothing to do with this. We have no idea what you're talking about." As I attempted to defuse the situation, I said. My right hand was behind my back. I'm looking through my inventory for something.

"STOP B*STARD! I SAW EVERYTHING WHILE DRINKING THE MURDERER'S POTION! YOU..! YOU WERE THE ONE WHO PIERCED A SWORD IN HER!" Javier yelled.

In this universe, a potion known as the Murderer's potion allows people to witness a specific scene five minutes in the past. It was supposedly created by an Alchemist who despised humans killing, betraying, and lying to each other before going on to live normal life in society. The Alchemist who created this potion died from an unknown cause. This potion has a counter, but it has yet to be discovered.

'Tch. I totally forgot about that.'

Jake had forgotten about this important thing. He had read the whole lore but forgot about this huge thing.

Javier picked up Luke by the throat. Luke grabbed his hands and tried to free himself.

"L-Leave.. me! f...ucker..!" Luke couldn't breathe.

"LUKE!" Aaron shouted as he punched one of the lackeys on his stomach. He stuttered but soon got into a battle stance.

"I'll kill you all!" Aaron shouted as he took out his sword from the inventory.

"DIMENSION MAGIC!?" A lackey shouted.

"IS HE A THREE STAR!?" Another lackey shouted.

"SHUT THE F*CK UP! IT'S AN ARTIFACT MOST PROBABLY!! F*CKING KILL HIM!!" Javier barked his orders at them.

The six of them began to encircle Aaron. They had no weapons, but they could easily overpower Aaron after just one hit. He doesn't have much sword experience.

He began to take steps back as he waited for the lackeys to attack him. Aaron was pushed to the far corner of the room without his knowledge.

"I'll take that bastard. Kill the other two." Javier said as he pointed at me. After that

'Found it.'

I was in joy inside my mind. I pulled out a paper from the inventory.

Javier noticed the thing in my hands and was surprised.

'He probably didn't expect me to have a Teleportation Scroll.'

"THAT B*ASTARD HAS A SCROLL!! HE'LL ESCAPE!!" Javier shouted as he left Luke and started to head towards me.

"If we die, then we will die." I said as I tore the paper and all of us inside the room were teleported.
