Alexander suddenly felt an unimaginable amount of pain was as if his heart was getting ripped out of his chest, and he couldn't help but cry out loudly.
"Alex!?" He could hear Nojiko's worried screams coming from his side, but they were faint.
The pain didn't want to disappear. Alexander wanted to see what was wrong with Earth Eagle, and he didn't want to believe anything had happened. Alexander opened his eyes again, and he wasn't on the island but inside his headspace.
The eight gates were in front of him, but he only cared about one of them. Alexander turned his eyes towards the first gate, and he saw that it had a few cracks.
He walked closer towards Earth Eagle's gate and put his hand on the gate, but this time the gate didn't light up as it did before, and Alexander couldn't enter.
To his surprise, he heard a small and weak eagle cry barely audible. It was a confirmation that Earth Eagle was still with him and that it was fine.
He spent a few moments inside his headspace, and he noticed that his pain had barely started going away. What amazed him and made him happy was that the cracks on the gate covered it seemed to have faintly healed.
He touched the gate again. "I'm sorry that I couldn't protect you, but I will do whatever it takes to make it up for you." he slowly removed his hand from the gate and walked away.
He could finally leave his headspace, and when he opened his eyes again, he was back in the town, but everything wasn't like it was before, bodies laid on the ground next to him.
Nojiko sensed that Alexander had gotten back again, and worried as she was, she jumped him and held him.
"I was so worried. Are you okay?" Nojiko didn't want to hear the small details as she just wanted to know if he was okay for the moment.
"Yea, I'm fine... but more importantly, what happened here?." he said while looking at the bodies on the ground.
"Well, after you told me to look out, these guys tried to finish you off while you were away, so what was that about earlier." she said with worry in the end.
Alexander retold her what had happened, and as he retold the story, he couldn't help to feel a vast hatred surging up. He wasn't alone as Nojiko also felt a strong emotion.
Nojiko was the first to open her mouth when Alexander finished retelling the events. "So, where is the person that attacked Earth Eagle?"
Alexander closed his eyes to try and reimagine the few seconds he got from Earth Eagle, even if it pained him. "Earth Eagle was at the lower disctrict when he.."
"What are we waiting for, lets just go." Nojiko grabbed Alexander by the hand, and they started moving fast towards the lower district.
'As long as Earth Eagle's bey is intact, I won't lose him.' Alexander thought with hope.
It didn't take them long to arrive at the lower district, but they didn't know where exactly to look. After some quick exploring, Nojiko found a large crater.
Alexander quickly dashed into the crater, trying to find the Earth Eagle's bey. When he finally found Earth Eagle's bey, when he saw the condition, Alexander got angry.
'At least I can fix you old buddy, any more damage, and I don't know what I would have done.'
His rage flared when he sensed something coming towards him. Just a second later, Alexander heard a bear roar and the ground shaking like an earthquake.
The moment Alexander turned his head towards the roar, he saw a giant paw in front of his face. Even with his proficiency in Observation Haki, it was barely so he could predict this enemy's attack.
The only solution was that his enemies were more experienced with it. It seems like talent means nothing compared to years of experience and fighting.
Alexander dodged the incoming paw towards his face, but he wasn't fast enough and got a small cut on his cheek. He tried to deliver a vibration punch towards the Bearman's chest with the momentum from the dodge.
The moment the punch was about to hit the Bearman, Alexander felt pain in his chest again, and the vibrations disappeared.
For a moment, it felt like the Bearman smiled before he took the opportunity to attack him again with its other paw and sent Alexander flying towards a house. Luckily he used Armament Haki to cover the point of impact.
The impact of Alexander's body hitting the house causes it to cave in on top of him. He activated full-body Armament Haki before it happened to reduce the damage.
Alexander quickly got up from the pile of rocks and turned towards the Bearman, and saw it running towards Nojiko.
'Over my dead body!!' Alexander instantly called Variares and Horuseus to help. Just in case he had asked them to be in the area just if things got tough.
Variares instantly summoned a lightning bolt in front of the Bearman to stop its advances. The Bearman slowed down a little, but it did buy some time so Horuseus could grab Nojiko away.
Alexander had also taken the time to close in on him. Without his vibrations, he had to rely on his strength with Armament Haki.
As he was running towards the Bearman in great haste, he remembered the new power he got from Horuseus. He had never used it before, so he didn't know how to utilize it correctly, but there's not a better time than now.
Just like his vibrations, he tried coating his arms in it, but it wouldn't work. Then Alexander remembered Horuseus doing it and tried to manifest the suns, but only small enough to fit his hands.
Alexander was never one to like ranged combat as he had always admired people fighting with their fists.
Just when Alexander was close enough, he teleported in front of the Bearman that had just stopped after noticing that the target had disappeared. It couldn't predict that Alexander would appear in front of it.
Being just in front of him, Alexander instantly punched the Bearman with his fist that had a small sun covering it. What happened next shocked him.
The impact from his punch denoted the small sun had caused an explosion that sent the Bearman flying.
Sorry guys, the chapter should have been up yesterday, but I just noticed that I had forgotten to upload it.
