One Piece : Safety second

DISCLAIMER : THIS IS A FANFICTION. So obviously I don't own any of the characters that appear in the novel. Honestly do I even own the 'OCs' that are in here? The great pirates era. It was a time when pirates were anywhere and everywhere. Two boys from a corner of the East blue are about to set out and turn the world upside down.

You shouldn't eat everything just because your teeth are good

Nami looked at the big trunk that was in front of her in shock. Here she was, crying her heart out after so many years and suddenly, a big trunk falls from the sky.

When she looked up, the only thing she could see was a blue blur jumping around the rooftops. Looking back at the trunk, she contemplated for a while before deciding to open it.

Looking at all the money that was stuffed into the trunk, she recognized it as the money that she had been saving for a long time. Although surprised at that, she closed it and wiped her tears, deciding to go to Arlong park.

When the whisker pirates had arrived and filled the entire Arlong park with smoke, Tom had silently sneaked into the building to look for the place where the fish-men held all their loot.

Checking every room meticulously, he finally reached a strongly reinforced door that was refusing to budge.

Thinking that he found the place he was looking for, Tom flashed a smirk and took out his tool kit instead of breaking down the door as he did not want to draw attention to himself.

Being the master lock picker that he is, he made easy work of the door. Taking a deep breath, Tom pushed the door open and was hit with dazzling light.

"S-so bright!"

Seeing so much treasure for the first time in his life, Tom jumped in and started swimming in it.

Sanji looked around after he took down Kuroobi. Zoro, who looked like he aggravated his injury, seemed very worn out and Sanji himself was pretty banged up after fighting Kuroobi in the water.

'Those guys look pretty much fine.'

The Whisker pirates however, looked perfect as they did not have any sort of handicap during their fights.

"What did you mean by half okay?"

Glancing at Zoro who asked him that, Sanji replied.

"Well, it means he's okay for now but I've gotta go and get him out."

"...."

"That guy doesn't seem like he's gonna let me though."

Arlong had indeed started standing near the water, seemingly not wanting to even give them a chance of saving Luffy. Sanji looked at the whisker pirates and fell into thought.

'Will they help again? Why did they even come here in the first place?'

He decided to try what he could first and attacked Arlong alongside Zoro, only to be pushed back by water that Arlong flung from his hands.

Laughing at the two humans he fended off with ease, Arlong flung water at the other three who were watching.

As Tyke had to put his arms up to guard his face from the attack, he heard Jerry and Yuuki talk.

"Wow, he's pretty strong huh."

"Indeed, maybe it's time for a strategic retreat."

Tyke deadpanned at the two, who were conversing while using his big frame as a cover. Wondering why Tom had not come out yet, he knew retreat was not an option yet.

Shaking the stinging feeling from his arms, Tyke charged at Arlong. As he watched the human coming at him, Arlong laughed in amusement.

Tyke launched a punch as soon as he got closer, only for it to reach the open palm of Arlong, who held onto it strongly. Frowning at the strength of his foe, Tyke used his other hand, only for it to end up in the same result.

As Arlong laughed in glee, he noticed a barrel appear over the shoulder of the human.

Yuuki fired his pistol, thinking he caught Arlong off guard. Watching the fish-man's head tilt back, he thought he did it and was feeling proud, only to see Arlong look back at him with the bullet grasped in his teeth.

Yuuki watched in disgust as the fish-man ate his bullet and smirked at him.

"Har har har, y-"

Arlong was unable to finish his sentence as something got shoved into his mouth. Arlong glared at the smaller human who was responsible for it.

Sitting on one of Tyke's shoulders, Jerry had an evil smile on his face as he lit up the dynamite that was in Arlong's mouth.

Knowing the damage it might cause if it exploded in his mouth, Arlong bit through the dynamite, leaving only a small piece of the stick left with the fuse, which fell down.

Having not much explosive, the explosion was nowhere near enough to damage Arlong nor the whisker pirates that were right there.

As Arlong chewed through what was left in his mouth, he saw the yellow haired human trying to sneak past him into the water, so he decided to throw the human he held onto.

Tyke widened his eyes as he was lifted off the ground along with both his crewmates who were sticking to his shoulders.

Crashing into Sanji, Tyke rolled and got up. Looking for his crewmates, he found them to be fine. Sanji, who he crashed into, also got up while coughing.

"Damn, you're heavy."

"You're just small."

As soon as Tyke replied, Arlong had sent another wave of water at them. Raising his arms to guard against it, Tyke noticed the people hiding behind him had increased this time.

"Did you see him eat the dynamite? Bleh." (Jerry)

"He also ate the bullet I shot. Isn't he afraid of ruining his teeth?" (Yuuki)

"He deserves to eat shit." (Sanji)

"Where the hell is your idiot captain?" (Zoro)

"Where's yours?" (Jerry)

"..He drowned." (Zoro)

"Rest in peace." (Yuuki)

""He's not dead yet!""

Side eyeing the four who were leisurely talking behind his back, Tyke looked back at Arlong who was standing with a smug expression on his face.

"You humans, do you not realize it yet? No matter how much you struggle, you can never reach me!"

As Tyke watched Arlong start laughing and the others peeked out from his back, someone shouted Arlong's name.

Looking towards the entrance, they saw it was Nami who had arrived. As Arlong started talking to Nami about working for him again, Tyke looked towards the building and wondered where the hell Tom was.

Nami declined working for Arlong anymore and decided to fight to the death if she had to, along with all of the villagers present. This made Arlong seethe with anger and he decided to wipe out everyone present, starting with the ones who dared to fight him.

As Tyke readied himself to try and defend against the fish-man who started to run at him, something flew in and crashed in Arlong's path and blocked him.

Recognizing it as the door to the room where he kept all his loot, Arlong glared towards where it may have come from. With the sun shining in his eyes, he squinted at the roof of his palace where saw a huge round ball. A ball which started talking.

"That's as far as you go, Arlong!"

Recognizing the voice, the whisker pirates looked towards the ball as it jumped to them. It was indeed their captain Tom. For some reason, he had gotten extremely big.

His upper body had become like a big balloon, with his arms hanging in the air on the side of his body.

"Nyahahaha, get ready to get destroyed."

As he laughed, his whole body shook, making clinking noises. Understanding why their captain had become so big, the whisker pirates deadpanned at their greedy captain, something most people present did.

Arlong too figured out soon enough, the door that kept his loot locked away had come out and the human that had thrown it was making clinking noises. He charged at the thieving human, intending to rip him apart.

Tom looked at Arlong, who was charging at him and side stepped and used his body to hit Arlong straight in his face with enough force to make him fly and smash into his palace.

"Nyahahaha, how do you like that?!"

Though everyone was amazed at the way Tom had sent Arlong crashing, they lost it as soon as they saw him leaking coins from his shirt.

Gasping at all the gold he was losing by the minute, Tom tried to bend down and pick it back up, only for more to start leaking out when he tried. Turning to his crew, he ordered.

"Pick everything up! Don't leave anything behind!"

"...."

Looking at the whisker pirates who were in a weird dilemma, Sanji decided to go and save his captain first and jumped into the water.

Arlong slowly got up and made his way out into the courtyard with a murderous glare. As he started to fume when looked at the humans who were picking up his money, he felt someone try to stab him in his leg.

Looking down, Arlong saw a kid shaking while holding a knife, which wasn't able to pierce through his skin.

"No! Chabo!"

As someone shouted out the boy's name, the whisker pirates turned their attention to what was happening. Though they did not know the kid, Arlong sure did.

Remembering him as a kid from Gosa village, which he had just recently crushed, Arlong felt his anger was about to explode, as even a pathetically small human like him would try to attack him.

Bringing his arm up, Arlong decided to swat him away into the wall of Arlong park, right next to the villagers who had gathered so they could start feeling the despair.

Chabo saw Arlong's arm coming for him and closed his eyes hard. Hearing the big sound made after crashing into something he felt weird, as he did not feel any pain.

"Tsk, stupid kid."

As he felt someone lift him up by the collar of his shirt he was flung away. Nami looked at the boy who fell near him with almost no damage and then looked at Tom who started coming out of the hole he made in the wall.

Tom looked at all the gold that fell out and was feeling wasteful when he looked to the side and saw Nami. Immediately turning towards his crewmates, he ordered while side eyeing Nami.

"Come here quickly, guard our loot!"

When his crewmates made their way towards him, he told them not to let Nami anywhere near and shook his clothes, making whatever was left inside fall out.

Cracking his knuckles and flexing his muscles around, Tom walked towards Arlong.

"Alright, it's for real this time!"

Author's note : Chabo is canon. Nami is the one that stops him in the story before all the straw hats arrive. I just messed around with the timeline a little.
