The Pirate Alliance had been defeated, and the Marines of the G5 branch were relieved. They were celebrating in a carnival, unaware of the figure that had infiltrated Mu Feng's battleship under the cover of darkness. This mysterious figure used Observation Haki to avoid detection from the guards.
The figure swiftly made their way to the bottom of the battleship, Hailoushi Prison.
Meanwhile, Diamanti was in distress, cursing Mu Feng and clutching her shoulders. Suddenly, she heard a familiar voice calling her name.
"Diamanti... Diamanti."
Startled, Diamanti stopped wailing and looked up to see Vergo standing before her. She was overjoyed to see him and exclaimed, "Vergo!? It's you! I knew you would come to save me."
Vergo urged her to be quiet and solemnly said, "Don't speak. I'll save you first. I underestimated Mu Feng's strength. Go back and tell the young master that we should abandon our plan for Mu Feng. He possesses Conqueror's Haki and is just as powerful as the young master."
Diamanti's face filled with horror at this revelation. Before she could respond, Mu Feng's voice suddenly interrupted their conversation.
"Oh, Lieutenant General Vergo. What brings you here? Didn't I already make it clear that no one is allowed to visit? Or should I address you as Vergo, the first generation of hearts of the Don Quijote family?"
Mu Feng stood there, arms crossed, watching Vergo with a playful smirk on his face.
Vergo's eyes narrowed upon hearing Mu Feng's words. He stared at him intensely and asked with a hint of gloom, "Does Naval Headquarters know who I am?"
"No, they don't... but I do," Mu Feng replied, shaking his head.
Vergo visibly relaxed and let out a sigh of relief. He looked at Mu Feng with a cold smile and declared, "As long as I kill you, my identity within Naval Headquarters will remain undisclosed. I will still be the head of the G5 branch, and you will be the one who died in the New World battle, a Major General in his headquarters." With those words, Vergo covered his whole body in a purple-black Armament Haki.
"Of course, but I don't think you have the strength to do so," Mu Feng chuckled.
Vergo's eyes flashed with anger. He wrapped his bamboo stick in Armament Haki and launched a violent attack on Mu Feng.
"Ghost Bamboo!" Vergo shouted.
The clash between their Haki-infused attacks created a series of explosive sounds. While Mu Feng was skilled in Armament Haki, he was still inferior to Vergo in this aspect.
However, Mu Feng swiftly drew his sword and with a swift motion, cut through Vergo's bamboo stick. This unexpected turn of events surprised Vergo, but he quickly adapted. He abandoned his weapon and unleashed a powerful punch infused with Armament Haki towards Mu Feng's abdomen, recalling how this move had nearly killed Corazon in the past.
But as Vergo's fist connected with Mu Feng's body, his expression suddenly changed.
What happened? It felt like his fist had hit nothing but air!
Mu Feng's afterimage technique, a skill derived from the six-style shaving, allowed him to move at incredible speeds, creating an illusion that he was still in one place. Vergo was unable to keep up with Mu Feng's movements and couldn't locate his actual position.
"It seems... you can't even figure out where I am," Mu Feng's taunting voice echoed from behind Vergo.
Vergo tried to turn around, but it was too late. Mu Feng's Taito sword swiftly slashed through Vergo's waist, despite the Armament Haki protection. Vergo's body, seemingly invulnerable, proved as fragile as tofu and was cut into two pieces.
Stunned, Vergo looked at his lower body in disbelief. How could this be? Was he going to die like this?
He then shifted his gaze towards Mu Feng, his eyes filled with puzzlement. How could someone who was just a Major General possess such strength?
But Vergo would never find the answers to his questions. In a flurry of sword strikes, Mu Feng dismembered Vergo's body into dozens of pieces.
The first generation of the Don Quixote family's red heart had met its end.
"Well done... I've obtained seven Armament Haki experience scrolls. Now, my Armament Haki can finally reach level 9," Mu Feng said with satisfaction. His main reason for killing Vergo was the expectation of obtaining Armament Haki experience scrolls, which would make his training much easier.
Suddenly, Mu Feng noticed a small white snail crawling out of Vergo's pocket. Picking it up, he realized it was a Den Den Mushi, a communication device. Without hesitation, he dialed a number, and after a brief wait, a voice filled with arrogance came from the other end.
"Vergo, is the job done? Did you manage to kill the Major General named Mu Feng?" the voice asked.
Mu Feng's smile widened, his tone dripping with pity, "It's a shame... I'm still alive, Don Quixote Doflamingo."
