Chapter 275: Luffy vs Enel

The electric surge struck Luffy square in the chest, illuminating his silhouette. For a moment, time hung suspended. His body absorbed the shock, and he felt nothing more than a mild tingle. 

Enel's eyes widened in disbelief. Luffy grinned, his straw hat tilted rakishly.

"Is that all you've got?" Luffy taunted, his voice echoing defiance.

Enel's confusion deepened. Enel dashed towards Luffy. He put his hand on Luffy's chest. "Vari 100,000,000 V," Enel said as he started to gather electricity in his hand. It glowed blue. He then discharged the electricity towards Luffy. There was a bright blue flash of light. The electricity hit Luffy with full force. 

Enel smiled. "Vermin," he said. 

Luffy then knocked him back. "Enough," he shouted. Enel did a back-flip and jumped back to his place. He looked at Luffy. Enel was confused. He thought how can someone be fine after that attack. Luffy followed it up with another kick to his gut. Enel hunched over. He spat some spit out as he fell over. 

Enel quickly got up, he jumped back. "What the hell are you?" he asked. 

"I am Luffy," Luffy replied. He paused and added, "I am a pirate and a rubber person." 

"Rubber," Enel remarked. He glared at Luffy.

"Lightning does not work on me," Luffy commented as he ran towards Enel. Gomu Gomu no Pistol," Luffy said as he stretched his arm back and then launched it at Enel. 

"Mantra," Enel said as he closed his eyes. He took a step to the left and dodged the attack. 

Luffy saw this and retracted his arm. He looked at Enel. "Gomu Gomu no Whip," Luffy said as stretched his leg and kicked in a wide circle. He aimed for Enel. Enel turned to lightning and moved away. Luffy missed it however he followed it up with another attack. "Gomu Gomu no Spear," Luffy said as he held his feet together with the bottoms of each touching each other and kicked towards Enel. His leg stretched like a spear at him. Enel turned to lightning again and moved away.

Luffy looked surprised as he retracted his feet back. Enel appeared in front of Luffy and smiled. He used his rod and hit Luffy with it. Luffy stumbled back. Enel followed up with another attack and hit Luffy in the chin and then jabbed him with the rod. Luffy went flying back and hit a tree. Enel followed up and rammed the rod in his chest.

"Lightning not only gives shock but works in other ways," Enel said. "I know my attack won't work against you so I will change my strategy," he added. 

Luffy attempted to kick Enel. "Physical attacks don't work on me," Luffy replied. 

"Lighting, Physical attacks don't work," Enel said. He paused and added, "Just what is this rubber?" 

"No you are a devil fruit user, so most won't be able to keep their form," Enel added

"Grom Puddling," Enel said as he held his golden rod in front of him. He started to infuse the rod with electricity. It glowed bright blue. There were lightning sparks everywhere. 

"I dont have the time to play with the likes of a vermin," Enel said. 

Enel then charged towards Luffy. His rod had a trident-like shape at the top. He swung his rod. Luffy jumped into the air, out of the way and just dodged the attack. He got hit slightly in the chest and some blood could be seen leaving his wound. 

Enel then appeared above him. He swung his rod down where Luffy caught it and held it tightly. He stretched his leg towards Enel however he moved his head. "Gomu Gomu no Stamp," Luffy said he retracted his foot back and hit Enel on his back. Enel felt the pain on his back and came crashing to the ground. 

"Gomu Gomu no Gatling Gun," Luffy said as he followed up with another attack. He brought his fists forward and repeatedly launched a rapid barrage of punches. However Enel just caught his fist and interpreted his attack. He grabbed Luffy and swung him down into the ground. 

Enel let go off his arm. "It's not as if your arms had multiplied," Enel said as he got up. He walked and looked into the sky. "I will do as I like, creating a world I desire," Enel added. He smiled. "That would mean getting rid of all the vermin," he commented. 

Luffy got up. "I don't like you," Luffy said. 

"I hate all vermin, especially blue sea vermin," Enel said as he jabbed his rod towards Luffy. Luffy dodged the attack and kicked Enel. Enel moved out of the way. Luffy hit the round drums on his shoulder. 

As Enel was about to hit Luffy again, Luffy retracted his foot and stamped on the shaft of the rod. He felt his foot getting burnt. Luffy moved his foot away. "Ouch," Luffy said as he tried to cool his foot down. 

Enel then tried to stab Luffy with the rod. The trident shape at the top was trying to hit Luffy. Luffy dodged the attack. He used his hand and legs to stop the rod coming towards his body. He grabbed the rod to stop Enel`s attack. Luffy felt his hand burning again. He immediately dropped down trying to cool his hands. Enel hit the tree behind him.

Luffy tried to blow into his hands. He thought, was there any way to counter him. He thought back to when Enel missed him and how he moved. 

Luffy got up. "Gomu Gomu no Airhead," Luffy said as his body got skinny. His face looked clueless. 

Enel thought this was strange. He tried to stab Luffy with his rod. However, Luffy dodged it. Enel attempted to hit right, Luffy went left. Enel tried to hit Luffy from the left, Luffy went right. He attempted to hit Luffy in the centre of his chest. Luffy moved his body and dodged the attack. 

Luffy went back to normal. "I can't hit you like that," Luffy said. "Gomu Gomu no Octopus," Luffy said as he took a deep breath and sucked in the air. He inflated his head to a large size. However Luffy could not hold it and he exhaled the air. His limbs went limp.

"Fool," Enel said as he ran towards Luffy with his rod. 

Luffy looked around and saw the dense trees around him and smiled. He turned his back to Enel and faced the trunk of a tree. His limbs were still limp."Gomu Gomu no Octopus Fireworks," Luffy said as he brought his fists forward and repeatedly launched a rapid barrage of punches at the tree. His body was limp. They ricochet off the other trees next to him. Luffy kept punching. 

"Fool," Enel said again as he dodged the punches bouncing off the tree and the ground. However, one of the punches hit Enel. Enel was surprised and then he got hit with another punch. He lost his focus and proceeded to get hit by a series of punches. He got hit in the stomach, face, leg, chest, forehead. Enel groaned in pain as he went down. He spat blood out. His body had many bruises. 

Luffy stopped and turned around. He looked to see Enel trying to get up. He ran towards Enel. "Gomu Gomu no Bazooka," he stretched his arms back and launched them forward at Enel. He hit Enel in the stomach. Enel spat blood out again as he took the full force of the attack. His eyes went red as he got hit. 

Enel went flying back. He hit the ground. He heard Luffy footsteps running towards him. His body was in pain. He had to dodge this. He looked at Luffy stretching his arm. He needed to evade this, he thought. He was panicking. Luffy was getting closer. He saw something else coming as well. Sweat was dripping from his face. He started to pant. Enel thought he needed to get out of here.
