Buggy pirates

Although the series doesn't provide specific details on when Nami first learned about Devil Fruits, it is implied that as a well-traveled and knowledgeable navigator, she would have encountered information about them. By the time she meets Luffy, she is certainly aware of what they are, though she might not have had any direct encounters with Devil Fruit users before joining the Straw Hat crew.

Her awareness is evident when she initially sees Luffy use his abilities and recognizes that he has consumed a Devil Fruit. This indicates that she has some prior knowledge of the phenomena associated with these mystical fruits.

"Devil Fruits—are they actually real?" Nami asked curiously.

"Yes, they are," Toshiro responded. "Do you want to know more about them?"

"Yes, why not?" Nami replied, eager to learn anything that might help her take down Toshiro in the future.

Toshiro looked out at the sea as he began explaining. "Devil Fruits are mystical fruits in this world that grant their consumers superhuman abilities, but with the significant drawback of rendering them unable to swim."

Nami listened intently, her eyes narrowing slightly as she absorbed the information. "So, you can't swim?" she asked, her curiosity mixed with a hint of skepticism.

"Yes," Toshiro replied with a smile. "Does that bother you?"

Nami's eyes widened in surprise as Toshiro continued, unabashed. "When I'm in danger in the water, I'm expecting you to jump in and help," he said, with no shame at all.

💢 💢

"Yes, yes, of course," Nami replied, her voice dripping with false enthusiasm. "I'm not going totally watch you sink without helping you and start laughing," she added under her breath, barely audible.

Toshiro chuckled, seemingly unaware or unfazed by her muttered remark. "Good to know," he said with a grin.

"What kind of abilities do they grant?" she asked, trying to extract as much information as possible.

"There are three main types," Toshiro continued. "Paramecia, which offer a variety of strange powers; Zoan, which allow the user to transform into animals; and Logia, which grant control over elements and allow the user to become that element."

Nami nodded, absorbing the information. "And what about you? What's your Devil Fruit power and type?"

Toshiro smirked. "That's for you to find out," he said cryptically.

"This bastard!" Nami thought to herself, annoyed.

"Don't worry, you'll see soon enough," Toshiro continued, enjoying her frustration.

"So, what's your plan?" Nami asked

Toshiro considered her question for a moment before responding. "First, we need to get a proper boat," he said, ticking off his fingers. "Secondly, on my journey, I'm gonna cook a lot of people, so I'll need a cooker. And lastly," he paused, a thoughtful expression crossing his face, "I'll think about it later."

Nami's confusion deepened at Toshiro's response. "I didn't understand the second one," she admitted, her brow furrowing in confusion.

Toshiro's smirk widened at her confusion. "You're too dumb to understand," he retorted, his tone mocking. "Don't think about it. I heard a rumor that says the bigger the chest, the dumber she is. Is that true?" he added, his words dripping with sarcasm.

💢 💢 💢 💢

Ignoring her frustration, Toshiro commanded, "Let's go now, set sail," as he sat back and made himself comfortable, closing his eyes.

"Where are we going?" Nami asked, her annoyance evident in her tone.

"Syrup Village," Toshiro responded casually.

Nami gritted her teeth, feeling a surge of irritation. "Fine," she muttered, turning to begin plotting their course.

.......

...…....

1 day passed.

As the ship set sail towards Syrup Village, Toshiro took a nap while Nami kept watch. Suddenly, she noticed a large figure heading their way on the horizon. At first, she thought it might be a civilian ship, but as it drew closer, she realized it was a pirate ship, unmistakable with its Jolly Roger featuring a standard comic-style skull-and-crossbones, modified with a large red nose and black.

Nami's heart raced as she realized the danger they were in. She hurried to wake Toshiro, shaking him gently at first, then more urgently as the pirate ship loomed closer.

"Toshiro, wake up!" she hissed urgently, her voice tinged with panic. "We've got company."

Toshiro stirred from his slumber, groggily opening his eyes as he registered Nami's alarm. Rising to his feet, he scanned the horizon and quickly assessed the situation.

"It seems we're getting an upgrade sooner than I thought," Toshiro said with a smile, a hint of surprise in his voice as he recognized the approaching pirate ship as belonging to Buggy the Clown.

"Is this the time when Buggy headed to Orange Town?" Toshiro pondered to himself, scratching his hair.

"Toshiro, what are you looking at? We need to escape! Help me configure the ship fast"

As Nami urged him to help configure the ship for escape, Toshiro remained calm, unfazed by the threat. "Relax, Nami," he reassured her, his smirk unwavering. "Prepare everything you need. We're changing ships."

Nami's eyebrows furrowed in confusion at Toshiro's casual demeanor in the face of danger, and she said, "If you want to commit suicide, don't bring me with you." Nami's tone conveyed her frustration and anger.

Ignoring Nami's urgency, Toshiro waited patiently for the pirate ship to draw closer, his eyes fixed on the approaching vessel.

Meanwhile, aboard the pirate ship, Buggy the Clown received reports of a small boat in their path. Without giving it a second thought, he dismissed it as insignificant. "Huh? It's probably worthless. Bomb it," he commanded, his attention already shifting to other matters.

As the order was relayed to the crew, they prepared to launch an attack on the small boat, unaware of the danger they were about to face.

As the crew of Buggy's ship prepared to launch their attack, Toshiro remained calm, his eyes narrowed in anticipation.

"Let's test my aim then"

As the cannonballs hurtled toward their boat, Nami's heart raced with fear, but Toshiro remained calm, his hand casually tucked in his pocket. With a confident smirk, he called out to Nami, drawing her attention.

"Hey, Nami, look closely," Toshiro said, his voice steady despite the imminent danger.

 "Scale of the dragon"

"Recoil"

"kai"

With a swift motion, he unleashed a thick, invisible slash from his finger, slicing through the air with incredible speed and precision.

The slash made contact with the cannonballs just moments before they reached the boat, causing them to disappear in a burst of explosive force. The sound of the impact echoed across the sea, reverberating through the air as the remnants of the cannonballs were obliterated.

But Toshiro's attack didn't stop there. With startling accuracy, the invisible slash continued its trajectory, slicing through the water with ease. A trail of disturbance followed in its wake, marking the path of destruction left behind.

As Nami witnessed the sheer power and precision of Toshiro's attack, a cold shiver ran down her spine. In that moment, any thoughts of plotting against him faded away with a hint of fear.

????????????????

The realization struck her hard: Toshiro wasn't just another pirate with a Devil Fruit power. He was a force to be reckoned with, someone whose abilities far surpassed her own.

"Is this really my fate? Unable to escape these monsters, only to be enslaved by them?" Nami's words dripped with self-deprecation as she grappled with the grim reality of her situation.

As Nami remained lost in her thoughts, Toshiro's casual demeanor shifted abruptly as he leaped into the center of the ship with a sudden and deliberate motion. The abruptness of his movement drew the attention of everyone on board, their eyes turning toward him in anticipation of his next move.

Toshiro's innocent expression was belied by the mischievous glint in his eyes as he addressed the crew of the Buggy Pirates. "Yo, hello everyone," he greeted them with false cheerfulness. "You see, I was passing through this way and happened to notice your cool ship. I was wondering if you guys could give me your boat."

Suddenly, Silent took over the ship, but moments later, someone started laughing, triggering everyone else to explode in laughter without exception.

"HAHAHA, what's he saying? HAHAHA," the laughter echoed throughout the ship.

"Hey, Cab—aji, help me! I'm going to die from laughter," one crew member managed to choke out between laughs.

As the laughter subsided, Buggy turned to Toshiro with a playful smirk. "Hey, you," he called out, still chuckling, "want to join my crew? You'd make yourself a good clown."

Suddenly, two dismantles launched at Buggy, forming an X shape as they hurtled through the air with deadly accuracy.
