Chapter 19

Title: Unbelievable...

….

As the men charged at him, what they didn't expect was for Max to take out his spiked bat and in an instant disappear from their vision.

BAAAAM!

All of them suddenly started bleeding from their heads and Max appeared on top of the slave, pointing his spiked bat at the Celestial Dragon. The bat was dripping with fresh blood from the attackers that he just cracked their skulls open.

Sharlia looked at the bar in shock, immediately her arrogant facade disappeared. Instead, tears pooled in her eyes and she started crying.

"Scream and the next one I bash the head in will be you," Max warned her with a malicious look in his eyes. He had learned something from Garp, Haki was the power to express oneself, holding back your feelings and hiding your true self will always hinder the Haki within you because your 'will' is suppressed by yourself. So now, even in the face of a Celestial Dragon, he had no fear. At the end of the day, if the worst came to come, then Raynare could just float him off.

"So, what will it be, little lizard? What did you want from me again?" He asked, the intense look in his eyes only grew stronger.

Sharlia didn't even attempt to try something against him, never before had she felt so powerless. "I -I am s -sorry!"

"Well, that's good," Max smirked, "But I don't feel like I am getting the full definition of an apology."

"W -What?"

"So, how about you apologize like you mean it girl or my dear bat here will bash your head in with the other scumbags." He couldn't help it, looking at the bat dripping with blood, he couldn't help but let a little one of Negan's jokes slip by.

"I AM SORRY!" she bowed down on top of her slave.

"Good… good, that's a very good apology," Max nodded, and he then swung his bat down.

"NO!!" She yelled out in despair and was covered in blood that was not her own, once she opened her eyes she saw that her slave's head had burst open like a watermelon.

"Anyway, we will go and have a grand time together. Only then will I accept your 'honest' apology. So what do you think about that? Don't worry, you can answer me truthfully here, I believe in the freedom of speech," Max beamed in joy at her, his smile was as innocent as that of a child.

But to Sharlia, it was the most horrific thing she had seen in her life. She knew that he wasn't just going to let her go because if she was put in the same position, she definitely wouldn't do so. 'I must have him play with me and keep him entertained until some Admiral came around to save me.'

"Yes, I would love to go with you." She said resolutely.

Baam!

In the next instant, Max casually destroyed her Celestial Dragon Suit and picked up all of the parts. "Anyway, Ray, can you give us a lift to the other side? Of course, after you end those guard's lives."

Ray hesitated at first, but then her eyes turned cold and she took out a knife and stabbed them coldly.

'Well, there seems to be some history there.' Max shrugged, only giving a side glance to Raynare's murdering.

….

-Sharlia-

It felt so strange, being carried by a man so casually, he broke her armor, ruffled her hair and just took her. Never before had that been done to Sharlia, as a celestial dragon, things like this never happened to their kind.

Still, though, the strange feelings in her heart made her act strange. Of course, she felt anger at the man who was kidnapping her and doing a surprisingly good job at getting rid of evidence… but there was something more. It spoke volumes for a man like him to do all of this with a smile on his face, he was either stupid or confident.

'He is a marine. Why is he so good at criminal activities?' She wondered, not daring to ask the question out loud, because it always felt like the Marine Captain Max was just a hair's length away from smashing her brains. 'Damn it! Just wait till I get out of here! I will make you pay for this you brute! Let's see how you will be able to sneak out of here! The patrols in this place have been very heavy ever since that fishman brute attacked.'

But contrary to her expectations, Max didn't sneak away and instead just walked out straight from the front door. The guard looked at him weirdly as he saw Sharlia over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes.

"Hello, I am Marine Captain Max, I need access to the other side." Her captor said casually as if nothing was wrong, the person looked at Sharlia on his shoulder weirdly.

'Yes! This will be your end brute! How stupid to not even try sneaking away! I have seen many stupid people but you take the top spot even amongst them!' Sharlia thought, her mind working out insults against him.

Max noticed the guard's gaze and smirked jokingly. "This here is a Celestial Dragon, just kidnapped her."

Sharlia could feel her freedom coming back so soon, her capture might have been short, but it taught her many things. Like, do NOT get weak bodyguards, get the stronger ones.

But contrary to her expectations, the guard only rose a questioning brow and chuckled. "I guess there is nothing I can do then. You can go on Captain Max."

"Thanks, mister guard, now me and my lady Celestial Dragon are gonna go on an adventure." He joked again, having the guard wave back to.

'What? What?!' Sharlia on the other hand was shocked, she saw something that she thought impossible. 'Was the guard in on it too?!'

Due to her naive look on things, it never crossed her mind that the conversation between the guard and Max was just a joke. After all, what kind of kidnapper would casually walk out with a Celestial Dragon in their shoulders? That would be madness!

"If you do things with confidence as if you know what you are doing. Then no one will suspect you." Said Max, guessing what both Raynare and the woman on his shoulder had in mind. He even said that as if it was the truth, not even a trace of deception appeared in his voice. So both girls took that as it was said.

….

Once in his ship, the World Noble felt even more shocked, as when Max went to sleep, he didn't bother to keep an eye on her.

Any Marine that she told about her kidnappings only laughed in her face due to the ridiculous story. If someone could just go and kidnap a Celestial Dragon in the middle of Mariejois… then that would have been done already, and World Nobles would die like flies.

In the end, night came about and she had to reluctantly sleep in the female quarters. Giving up on any prospect of trying to convince the marines in Max's ship. It seemed like the people in it believed that the only reason their Captain didn't walk on water was that he didn't want to get his boots wet.

...

The guard with a long day job won't care about this. Also a guy in real life actually did something similar and pretended to be an air pilot, doctor and lawyer. He didn't even finish highschool, but he did all this and wasn't found out in his schemes till later in an unrelated matter. So the message here is that as long as you act confident, you can get away with a lot of shìt.
