Walking out from the mess he made, the man brushed off his dusty clothes.

'This power, I need him.'

The man walked back with a smile on his face as if what he had just gone through was just another walk in the park.

"Would it kill ya to take it easy little man, those guys have families to feed," he brushed the dust from his hair as he sat next obnoxiously close to Null.

"Would it kill you to give some room," Null responded as he scooted himself to edge.

"I couldn't help myself after seeing such a spectacle," he elucidated his reason for approaching, "Name's Taz and I'm here with my crew for a special auction happening a few days from now."

"Null." Null was tired of the direct personalities of the alien people.

The casual demeanor of the alien folks he met was refreshing at times, but at his core, Null was still a kid from a small, insignificant world that had no proof of life beyond its atmosphere.

He still carried a fear of the unknown within him that restricted his curiosity and made him ponder his every action.

'If only they knew. How different would life had been if we had just pushed a little further beyond the stars.' Null held the thought and focused on the present.

Now that he found himself free to do as he pleased, it became a question of whether he would squander his time yet again, or if he would make use of his new power to enjoy the moment and do as he please.

"I was just wondering if you'd be interested in helping us acquire a certain item with your abilities and in return, you'll have some help getting your friend out of the box." He revealed his true intention.

"I'd rather not steal if I don't have to, it's just my friend that's the thief," he declined.

"You misunderstood my words; I don't plan on stealing the item, I want to destroy it," Taz said without the slightest change in tone or expression.

'And exactly how is that any different than just stealing it,' Null figured it was time to throw reason out the window.

"You better give me a good reason why I should bother before I launch you to space," he made up his mind, "No need to worry about the other guy, letting him sit in there for a bit might lower his ego a bit. It'll be good for him."

"Ha! If it weren't for your outburst earlier, I'd still be under the impression you were just another tit-sucking babe. But just hearing you speak like that leads me to believe that it'd do me well to keep on your good side."

He wore a look of sympathy for Theef as he got up to leave which Null found funny.

"Tell you what—," Null reasoned, "—if you can 'acquire' some food for me, I'll help you destroy anything you want.

Taz smiled at those words, "Then let's head to the hotel where me and my crew are staying. There's a diner nearby so we can get introductions and such behind us in one go."

"Sounds good." Null scooched himself off the bench and waddled over.

"If you want, I don't mind carrying you there," Taz requested thoughtfully.

Null looked up at him and said, "No need to trouble yourself worrying about me, just take the lead."

Taz expected to be shot down, so he obliged with the kind intention to keep his pace slow and enjoy a nice stroll to their location.

But as he turned to Null, he gasped in shock at the sight of him slowly rising up to match his height.

The chatter of the people in the near vicinity died down as people began noticing and whispering among each other while staring.

'Did I do something?' Null looked to Taz with the thought written all over his face.

'THIS FUCKING BABY WAS AN IMMORTAL THIS WHOLE TIME!'

The poor guy was sweating bullets as he tried his best to remain calm, but he really wanted to know what kind of sick prank was being played on him.

"What are you waiting for? Let's leave already. These people are starting to bother me with their prodding eyes."

His words may have made him seem like a victim, but after they reached the ears of those listening in, their heads snapped away and they all began shaking in fear.

"R-right away sir," Taz switched up his act and began nervously speeding away.

"Hey! Slow down, will you," Null caught up with him, "Is something wrong?"

"Ah my apologies. I wasn't thinking straight. I only wanted to lead you as quick as possible so as to not waste your time sir!"

He jumped at the question to Null's surprise.

"Woah chill out, will you? What's going on?"

Seeing as Null was truly confused by the situation, Taz thought it would be best to explain, "It's no surprise you've started a ruckus. The only immortal on this planet is its ruler."

"That's cool and all, but I'm not immortal. This is just an ability of mine, see?" Null pointed to his feet, which began to let loose a purple pulse that jetted him higher up.

"So it's like that!" Taz could not contain his surprise as it was nonetheless an impressive feat.

The misunderstanding past them, the two continued to travel to the hotel where Taz's crew was waiting.

The people of the market tried to resume their activities, but a few nosy individuals couldn't help themselves from looking back towards them.
