Hannah's eyes smiled along with her lips, her voice dipping in tone to a velvety lilt, all while she kept her nose pinched. "Can you guess who this is?"
There, on the other end, Arnold Simmons put down the documents he was reading, rubbed the bridge of his nose and smiled. "Hannah."
Seeing that her identity was accurately guessed, Hannah felt a bit disappointed, but excitement was the prevailing emotion. "Mr. Simmons, you haven't forgotten about me then?"
"Mhmm," Arnold nodded, "I have not found anyone more attractive than you yet, so no, I haven't forgotten."
Hannah pouted, "Are you complimenting me?"
Arnold got up and walked over to the window. His assistant, on cue, made a swift exit from the office.
In his heart, he guessed it was to do with that phone call. Although he couldn't see her, he could faintly hear a voice.
It was soft, as if it was made of cotton candy, which was enough to melt any man's heart, especially one who had been single for years.
